@dimbazzo Very similar, though for distance work the Rode with its +20dB setting might perform better.

I love everything about this mic except 1 thing. It doesn't have XLR input. I'm using the Zoom h4 and find that to be brilliant. Zoom make some fantastic audio products

Shame you didn't cover the MS recording mode, 'cos that seems to be the main 'claim to fame' Zoom are using for this model.

Sorry ran out of space, using the camera's mic,then the Zoom,then the rode,just fantastic audio. I also like the options you have when it comes to connecting this device to an external lapel mic,gain control,polar pattern,wow with 5 studio mic's built in,amazing bit of kit Dave,well impressed,something I am going to save up for and get ASAP !!,Thanks for the review :)

Dave,That's got to be one of the best videos I have seen for a while demonstraighting such a small recording device. Zoom make some fantastic products,I can't believe that this is setvatvsuch a low price,I was expecting a lot more,say £400. The editing was seamless between switching from the camera to this,the difference between the mic's was defiantly change for the better
