Just use glass. I am doing it.

I just bought glass drills and went for it. No scratching, nice and shiny. Fragile yes, but no more than what would ruin plexi.

A square or straight edge would be best for both case and glass . Use a drill on the metal side cover to start a pilot hole, and cut it out with a jigsaw using a metal cutting fine tooth blade for clean smooth cuts .Followed by cutting the plexi or lexan of your choice with a table saw with 160 tooth blade or better, that die grinder is not a good tool to use .

This actully is the wrong way to cut plexiglass as it makes it melt... you need to cut it like a piece of glass by scaring your cut with a razor sharp tool and a ruler, then it will snap perfectly

What did you use to cut out the window. Don't you know how to cut a straight line ? It looks like you used a butter knife...lol

Also it's called u-channel, edge molding or trim molding.

Start with some painters tape, add two layers when cutting plexi or metal to keep it from chipping and cracking.

Second use a T-Square for straight lines on larger pieces.

Also use a file or a sanding wheel to smooth out cuts on metal and plexi for a professional look.

Wear safety goggles and learn more modding tips by looking up the keywords MNPCTech or WestCoastMods. Both great places to learn from. It has helped me be a better modder.

Cast Acrylic works the best, it doesnt melt when cutting and it is more rigid.

ive done case modding like this myself. its cheaper than buying a case with a plexiglass window. When i cut my plexiglass i used a jigsaw with a metal blade, then after all the cuts were finished i used a rasp and a file to smoth up the rough cuts. My next project im making a case made entirely out of Plexiglass sheets half inch square rods and plexiglass dowels useing no screws just the clear dowels and super glue an its all being drawn up on CAD an cut by CNC

@TheItouched I'm learning as i go. I was making a tutorial on how to cut holes for fans on a case and i screwed up all my acrylic. I learned tho. That's just how i'm learning things tho so i'm gonna get another sheet and go at it again and post a video.
