@seveertrebor You are playing right in your vid, 'cause I've been watching Alex play it and you play it the same way. I thought it was played the way this Esekker guy says, but it's not. Could you make a how to video maybe? Or if not, just tell me how you're playing it?
What was the first note in the first riff? My Rush guitar book says it's the 9th fret of the D string, and a bunch of tabs say different ones. Which is correct? Thanks!
would you say that your new black copy les paul with a floyd rose has a better sound than you older prs? Do you prefer a floyd rose trem over the prs?
I have the exact same problem. I've got a cover of Dreamline in works, but have ceased entirely due to my inability to play the solo. And it's really a shame, because it was sounding awesome. :(
I'm currently saving for an H&K Switchblade. I figure it's about time to upgrade to an all-tube amp and as far as I'm concerned nothing beats the tone of H&K.
Do you have any tips for the palm muting in the intro riff. I generally don't have difficulties with palm muting unless it is on the higher strings. It feels very awkward to palm mute for this riff.
I don't remember the first time I heard Rush. I think it was when I was eight or so, but I'm 15 now, and I think they are just absolutely amazing! Truly the best I have ever seen. You do an amazing job at covering their songs!
....thats good to hear, there an amazing band! I was about your age when I first got into rush a long time ago. You've got a huge back catalogue to get through now!
Thanks for the reply. First of all, in the intro riff, I have the first line, but the second line isn't quite right. the tab show the second to last note played is on the e string at the 9th fret, but you don't appear to play in that way. I was wondering how you play the intro in general, it seems much easier than what I'm looking at on tab. Again, thanks for your time.
do you have tab for this or know where I can find a good tab... I've found tabs that are not as accurate as what you're playing. any help is appreciated.
I still think that you can do it buddy. Give it a try with the syncing. It didn't sync with you. Paul knows how to do it. To prove it watch his "Time Stand Still".
...neither, got it off ebay, a guy (CH guitars) got a few made to try them out as he was impressed with the black Gibson LP Alex was using on the last couple of tours.
great job, you shoulda have tryed the little improve alex adds in before the solo in the live version, but good job anyways without it, studio all the way
thanks...no its a copy, but a bloody good one. Got if off ebay, this guy got a few made in Korea, based on ALs black LP with the floyd rose, but they sold real quick, not suprisingly, i love it!
You rock dude I love your covers!

amazing job i just got a switchblade 100 and was wondering what your standard eq settings are for rush
shakeandbake0 1 year ago
well what is it then? thats how ive been playing it
Esekker 2 years ago
thats not right the intro is 5,0,5,70(x2) 0,5,7,9 all on the high E string
Esekker 2 years ago
.....sorry, but thats not right.

@Esekker He's right. I used to play it your way, bc that's what all the tabs showed, but if you watch Alex, the way seveertrebor shows is correct

@Esekker sorry esekker but your wrong that is the most inconvinient way to play that intro
VHalen2112 1 year ago
@Esekker Those are the wrong notes. Even if you had gotten the notes right, there are still multiple ways to play any given song on guitar.
MatthewLeisher 5 months ago
seveertrebor, what do u mean by delay?
Esekker 2 years ago
...a bit like an echo effect, you can usually change the volume/time/feedback of it.
seveertrebor 2 years ago
What was the first note in the first riff? My Rush guitar book says it's the 9th fret of the D string, and a bunch of tabs say different ones. Which is correct? Thanks!
BillyJoeSchmuckMuckr 2 years ago
..the very first note is an open B (2nd string). Well thats how I play it.
seveertrebor 2 years ago
how do u get that sound un the intro, i play the tabs right but that partivular sound i can't get. help me seveertrebor
Esekker 2 years ago
Palm mute, with loads of delay.
seveertrebor 2 years ago
whoa where you get that guitar?
jesse1291 2 years ago
Ebay...a small time guitar manuf got some replicas made of the black LP AL used on the last tour.
seveertrebor 2 years ago
thanks
jesse1291 2 years ago
Yes!! You took one of my requests lol
Man, I wish I could play the solo properly. :(
doubtseventhere 2 years ago
Where are you stuck??
seveertrebor 2 years ago
The very last part of the solo, when I play the tabs that I found, it doesn't sound right. You totally nailed it though!
doubtseventhere 2 years ago
Yeah, I reall struggled with that!! I'll see if I can tab for you.
seveertrebor 2 years ago
That would be awesome, thanks!
doubtseventhere 2 years ago
I could go for a solo tab too! :)
ruush2112 2 years ago
thanks...yeah keep getting requests for RTB, I will try and give it a go soon.

would you say that your new black copy les paul with a floyd rose has a better sound than you older prs? Do you prefer a floyd rose trem over the prs?
Nice cover
rushguitarist2112 3 years ago
I prefer the Floyd Rose and I have just put in some 59 Seymour Duncan pups, so the tone is probably as good if not better than the prs.
seveertrebor 3 years ago
yeah the intro, verse, and chorus parts are easy. But the solo is my favorite part but I can't seem to make it sound right. go figure

I have the exact same problem. I've got a cover of Dreamline in works, but have ceased entirely due to my inability to play the solo. And it's really a shame, because it was sounding awesome. :(

..its actually one of the simpler Rush songs.

rushguitarist2112 3 years ago
...keep your palm as close the bridge as possible, you also want plenty of delay to bring the tone out.
seveertrebor 3 years ago
Can you do a video of Double Agent??? that would be awesome
blake701984 3 years ago
yeah, will do eventually.....so many songs to go at...so little time!

yeah...i've been lucky enough to grow up with them, just outstanding.
seveertrebor 3 years ago
Love the "raw" sound of Dreamline performed live. Overall a great song, but the studio version sounds a little too "slick." Great job on this one!
BuckeyeNative001 3 years ago
...yeah, a bit like the Between the Wheels, a bit light on the studio version, but comes to life when played live.
seveertrebor 3 years ago
i really like this song never heard of rush b4 i started to watch your vids now i cant get enough thanks!!
