Is this really based on a true story? If so, what book,movie, etc?

@Horseteen14 Yes, it is based off of a story my grandmother told me about a horse called "Little Man". This series is mostly based on the story. Some parts of the original story might be modified to fit the storyline and maybe to extend the story. But, otherwise, it is mostly based upon a story my grandmother told me when she was on a ranch.
