  • I thought this song was called "Leaving the Body"

  • CC forever~

  • Masa & Mune disliked this.

  • "Rest in peace... Father... Brother..." - Glenn

  • Listening to this, I'm reminded of that..memorial area at Termina...

It's been a long time since I've played so I don't remember as much.

  • It's so easy to imagine myself floating away from everything....

  • i love this song very very much so many emotion, also is it very sad.

  • Chrono cross in we heart.........

  • this song has reinspired me to play guiat and for that i thank the

    uploader

  • Don't be so close-minded and guarded. Listen to the song, and hear the music thats played. There is a little similarity, like krustyox said. Didn't know so much hatred could manifest itself with a song like this...

  • @johnny22233323 its not hate. He said "and here i was thinking Yasunori was a good composer..."

Sorry but, even listening to this beautiful treasure, i can not accept that. I have to reply.

  • @TheKrustaceox umad

  • @icetyrant grrrrrrrrrr........ :)

  • 2 people have no heart.

  • Before, the gaming industry could not rely on graphics because they were so aesthetically unpleasing. Consequently, they relied on story and music. Times sure have changed.

Thumbs up for keeping these treasures alive.

  • @dreamincairo In the last decade MMORPGs have not had storyline because their target-audience was originally tabletop roleplayers. But now the industry is starting to realize that they made a mistake by taking storyline out of videogames. As for music - my favorite composer is ZUN (his music had no acceptance in the music industry so he created Project Touhou).

  • @Reminiscable Project Touhou, I haave heard of this, can you elaborate?

  • @RoyAndKimble phenoca.deviantart._C_O_M_/journal/What-Is-Touhou-271941819 I've tried to list what I feel describes Touhou here. Please add a .com

  • @dreamincairo It's so sad that it's all about cosmetics and no longer the inner beauty. Just like relationships eh? **le sigh** Epic Thumbs up on this one.

  • @dreamincairo this kind of thing has happened to movies music and tv too the standard is really low and people are too stupid to realize it or care so it gets low and it stays there its really deppressing given some of the awesome stuff of the past

  • @dreamincairo

painted backrounds, super deformed characters and a great story with even greater music

thats the treasures we growed up with and the new generation [mostly] don*t know.

do we get a ne gem? [Bravely Default Flying Fairy looks exactly like the games of my childhood]

  • @dreamincairo Wrong. They focused on everything. People fail to understand that. Games like Chrono Trigger, Cross, Final Fantasy VI etc had awesome graphics for their time. As time passed people began overrating graphics. That is a fact. I can still find joy in playing old games that are considred -mediocre- but thats just something i can't with new games. Their either great or aweful.

  • @mirrorpiece

They had nice graphics for their time but it was as detailed as they are today. Like in 16bit days dialogue and music were more important than graphics. Nowadays high budget games depend on hyper-real graphics(Battlefield 3, Crysis 2) as a way to immerse players. Which I think its dumb because if I wanted real I just go outside.

  • @CCTV9 I do agree that, at least for me, music, gameplay and dialogue are the most important things of game. Shooters often lack originality because those are other genres where the fun usually depends on how good online-multiplayer is for example. Games like that NEED those graphics to stand out between all the other shooters because thats what people wan't these days. Older games usually have better balance, because when older games wanted to stand out, they had to be special.

  • 1:00 ~ 1:57 is perfect

  • Haha I own when I was little but here the thing I neverfinish cause it froze at serge body cstitch and the some other part but it was worth my young age playing

  • Also I play this game before ps2 came out and I was little and I got to the second cd without a guild I was like

  • One thing this song make me cry yet I can't cry outside this game I wish happan to me cause it also show life thougjt serge

  • Love this song! I'm learning this on guitar now ;)

I only recently discovered however that the main theme of this song has very much resemblance with another song; called Matthew the Man, by Iona. That song was earlier written, back in 1992. Too bad, I really thougt of Yasunori Mitsuda as a great composer...

    Still, its a great song!

  • @Ichthusvisje Wow, are you fucking serious.

I'm familiar with Matthew the Man and I just listened to it again just recently and this piece bears no fucking resemblance whatsoever to the former. The hell are you smoking.

Also, lol at doubting Mitsuda's great composing skills.

  • @IEatTrolls nice to see you listen at Iona's music too! What do you think of their more recent music? Love to hear your opinion! (even if you don't see the resemblance between this piece and Matthew the Man, allthough I still do).

  • @Ichthusvisje yeah i heard it and it has some resemblance ONLY on the instrument. But the keys and notes are completely different , how dare you to insinuate Mitsuda copied from that song? Quitting the Body is far greater than that song you'd mentioned. Dont even bother doubting Yasunori skills, you dont know what you're talking about.

  • @Ichthusvisje ok it better have some resemblance...

  • Absolute timeless experience. Mitsuda is a god for many, including me !

  • @Gmanster64 Fantastic song. Amazing how emotions can power humans.

  • @Gmanster64 Beautifully written. Definitely some "Medieval" elements in it for sure. Your description was flawless.

Well done. Here, have a legitimate thumbs up!

  • Yeah it's amazing how he got so into his own music. Another thing that's sad is you won't find very many people that are willing to work or get into music that deeply... Music is dying and it's becoming a joke.

  • @master2873 Music will never die, and there are still many, many people like that. Me, for instance, if you want some consolation. :) And you, obviously. Keep creating, or searching for, what really makes you come alive inside. Don't give up.

  • @master2873 People are losing the ability to invest themselves in it.

  • Wait, the name of the song for the Game-Over screen is actually called "Quiting the Body!?!?!?" ROFL!!

  • this game got the most relax music..

  • -this song plays-

Sister in other room: ...Did you die again?

    Me: Shut up.

  • The Best RPG!!!

  • @mrgjrquestao In my opinion Chrono trigger was the best rpg... not chrono cross!

  • @Deadganon Chrono cross had its flavors that made it also a best RPG ofcourse it would ve been nothing if CT never existed.CC's songs are really amazing

  • OMG YES!!! YES!!! You only hear this in the battles behind the gate in the sea!!!!

  • this song makes me wanna cry on the inside, but no one would eva kno..

  • i remember back in 1999, when i was playing this song... It was days after my grandmother had passed... it was like this song reached in my soul and where you hear the ooooh in the song at 1:03, I sung that in my room and by the time my mom came to the room, I was full of tears but still crying..... Its amazing how strong someone can be and when they have a chance to be weak, something this beautiful allows them to be.

    just had to share that.

  • @shioriryukaze im not joking i respect you for that

  • this song make me cry men, =(, i remember the days i play chrono cross, the good times bro...

  • One person didn't quit the body. D:

  • I thought the song was called Departed Souls or something

  • What the developers should do....

Don't make voice actors. Don't focus on graphics,

Just make the character, gameplay and storyline. That will give you a good game like Chrono cross

  • @goruu One good things is that Chrono Cross took your latter advice and even added some of the most memorable visual spectacles in any video game, as well as added accents to each character... Truly an amazing game.

  • found out my girlfriends cheating on me. but it's cool, as long as i'm listening to this.

  • @hitokirimasamun Damn man. And I just got me one! Anyways, stay strong and don't let that or anyone else stop u from acheiving your dreams. Now how come I listen to this great song,I get get teary-eyed?!! What gives?? Lol.

  • @hitokirimasamun really sorry about that dude. she doesn´t deserve u. step on to another one. good luck

  • When the strings started after like one minute, i tought to myself : This is so magnificient...

  • I play this song whenever I miss my father's presence, which deceased in last year's September.

I hope he is happy, wherever he is...

  • the only reason ppl didnt like CC is cause it was a CT "sequal" or continuation or whatever u wanna call it, which is a shame cause its hard to get through the CT fans "trust me i know", now years later my friends CC is up there with CT in my fav games of all time

  • It wasn't even a continuation or sequal perse, Square announced that it wasn't suppose to be a sequal or anything, just another story line that was inspired by CT.

Honestly people shouldnt compare this to ct just cause well, they are two diffrent games and are diffrent in everyway, only simmerlatities was that cc had come ct inspired things in it

Comparing CC by itself as a game it is VERY VERY good for it's time. Dood if they Remade the exact game with new ups for ps3 or 360 it would sel Good

  • i came so hard

  • even after playing almost all rpg´s in the world...

there is one soundtrack that lives forever...

and that is chrono cross´s music...

no music is better in a game...

    to me

chrono cross soundtrack is and will always be the best and the very pinnacle of absolute dedication to video game music creation

not to mention that chrono cross is the best rpg game ever created , and that nothing.... in future , past or present can beat it...

i´m sorry , but as the rpg player i am , this holds true

  • music like this is so un appreciated....

    music life.

    music us sacred to me..

    *tears*

  • I never knew what the song was called before now, i definitely love the sound, the song as a whole is a great ethereal experience. Tranquil and mournful as well. Chrono Cross's-Yasunori Mitsuda music is definitely what i think most people are truly thinking of when they think of Chrono Cross

  • very beautiful.

  • Meh. I prefer the Lost Fragment's piece, but this is a pretty good song.

  • 1:01 is my favorite part...truly hits me deep right there...

  • the best RPG's were on the SNES and

    PS1

  • too true, too true

  • Alot of people thought that Chrono cross was Garbage compared to CT which i disagree strongly than later people started to see it's greatness and Squarenix stopped production of this game and thats why its so hard to find now I just wish mine came with the instruction booklet but i still have my copy and i still play it.

  • I managed to get an unopened copy from EB games! I just wish it wasn't in the greatest hits packaging.

  • wow you are fucking lucky and it was listed under Greatest hits? Mine is the original packaging just the discs are white with the foil outlines of serge's body on the first disc and kid's on the second like i saw huge Difference in MGS Greatest hits and original packaging.

  • i like the foil...

  • @Zengx I agree completely. It feels like people focus more on visuals than story these days, and though the visuals are nice, I have yet to find an rpg that can compare to the ones of the SNES and PS1.

  • @ToastyEmoNinja FF13?...

  • @thatthingoverthere I don't have a 360 or ps3. lol So I haven't found one I'm able to play that can compare to the great stories of the old ones. Sorry. I should have been more specific. That's a my bad. :)

  • @ToastyEmoNinja Oh! I was just replying to how FF13 was one of the visually intensive games. I'd stare at it for hours but... I'd rather play something else.

  • @thatthingoverthere ...yea not even a used tp sheet's worth of this game

  • @deathscy666 It was an example of a visually intensive game :)

  • @Zengx

    Correct, good sir.

  • @Zengx PS1? sry dude but thats a bad joke :P

  • @Zengx Maybe the reason why is because of Sony developing the sound chip for both consoles.

  • @Zengx Except for Mother 3, which began developing in that era, but took twelve years and came out on the GBA instead.

  • @inukirby992 I've havn't played any of them.

  • this is one of my songs of the soundtrack, there is just such a transcending feeling of depth to it. it's almost tragic sounding but in a way also consoling.

  • The name fits, its an out of body experience that Yasunori Mitsuda gets us to enjoy.

  • when this music play in the game? i can't remember

  • i think its played when riddel and glenn are putting flowers on dario and garai's grave,im not really sure,i THINK thats when the song plays.

  • Sigh, this is probably my all-time favorite song off this glorious soundtrack. There is just so many things that can relate to this song.

  • wauw between 0 and 3:47 is super, serious, I love the harp at 0:30, i think it is a harp

  • It's a lute.

  • this song is very beautiful i really love it...

    somethimes makes me cry T_T

  • I love Chrono Cross. As soon as I found all my Playstation games and hooked up my PS1, it was the first thing I played. This just shows that I need to start playing it more.

  • Sounds like a sadder version of Scars of Time in a way...nice vid!

  • Sounds like a "game over" theme to me, and the name fits that.

    Very beautiful, and tragic-sounding.

  • it is...in the begining part ya..lol

  • Gets really good at 1:05

  • definatly :)

  • this song makes me contemplate what i've accomplished in my life.

  • Nice~

    Thanks for sharing~

  • I've been looking for this one for a while!
