@PacificAntidote The monitor with the wavy lines is called an oscilloscope. The horizontal axis is time, and the vertical axis is amplitude(voltage). Oscilloscopes allow a person to view circuit performance. Thanks for the view and comment!

The grids are designed to be biased at approximately -1V, the same as any other preamp tube.
