  • Though I'm not a fan of Jeep, I have to say that their Wrangler is undeniably the most traditional offroader in production.

  • Fact, originally the civilian jeep was marketed as a piece of farm equipment (more like a tractor, than a car) because it was thought that the "average" person would have no need for such a vehicle.

  • I am the proud owner of a 2012 wrangler sport S. Any bad things you've heard just are not true. The horsepower from the engine is amazing. The 2 door still has plenty of cargo space, only second to the wrangler unlimited. Chrystler group was bought by Fiat and they have made the new wrangler a luxury vehicle that is more off road capable than ever. The grand cherokee power train and all aluminum Pentastar engine was introduced, which yields an enormous boost in performance on and off road.

  • Give me a 70s CJ over a new Wrangler any day. The latest JD Power Vehicle Reliability Report lists Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Chrysler in the last 4 places for vehicle reliability.

  • @kabodkhwaamkhid i had a jaguar before the 2012, jaguar was near the top or so they said, and it was the worst vehicle ive owned so far

  • jk= just kidding which makes alot of sence when talking about the newer jeeps highway beautie queen are what they are now no off roaders

  • @prostreet2 it may look that way but stock they can take on a lot. and yes they are beautiful hahaa.

  • I've personaly only owned one Jeep, an 89 Jeep Cherokee 4-door, 4.0L auto. I loved that thing, but I hit a deer with it late at night at about 55mph and it never ran the same even after I repaired the damage and replaced the broken parts. Traded it in for a 95 Dodge Dakota, 5.2L V8 auto ext cab 4x4.

  • the best Jeep any of my family members ever had was my dad's 79 CJ-7 Golden Eagle, 304 AMC V8 and a 4-speed. My dad went through several engines and transmisions from water logging them while off-roading. Lots of fun memories as a kid in that old Jeep. Once while offroading my dad hit a nard bump and my hit the rollbar. I actualy dented the rollbar. Hurt like hell. Sadly he got tired of replacing drivelines and the body was falling apart, so he sold it and bought a 79 F-250 SuperCab longbed.

  • Can i see the new one with the stuff taken off?

  • nice video thanks

  • Jeeps suck there cheaply made and overpriced.

  • @diecastcarcollecter you must be thinking of a land rover, jeeps are solid american construction, whatever poor experience you had with a jeep had to have been a freak incident.

  • new ones are way overpriced like most vehicles now. I`ve owned a few. 77 J10,79 Cherokee Chief,77 CJ7, 79 CJ5. I prefer the older ones.

  • I love my CJ 7 81.....Jeep build for last!

  • My latest Jeep is a 2004 TJ Willys ( 100 made ) which "resembles " a 1941 Willys MB. I have owned 5 Wranglers since 1968.

  • YJ forever.

  • I love my modded 95 YJ.

  • only jeep's !!

  • I still love my Willys M38 (5-51) better.

  • it's fairly obvious which i prefer...

  • Jeep, just like apple pie and baseball an American icon!!!

  • Grand Wagoneer !

  • ill stick with my yj. the jk is cool, its got some pretty cool bits and bobs, and the cj is unquestioned in its reliability, but if it aint broke dont fix it. the yj has 170000 on it and the way its been going its probably got at least that much in it still. besides i get better mileage in it than the new jeeps do & i havent found a place that a comparable sub modeled jk can go that my old 89 cant. so why drop over $20000 on a new one when my <$2000 jeep works jeeps rule whatever model you have

  • why do they call it the JK?

  • Those who know their history of AMC and Chrysler will NOT think that older stuff is better.

  • @FreeTrecker yes, that is why they're already reaching 100k + without issues.

Your CJ will snap an axleshaft and blow its transmission long before the JK shows any sign of wear.

  • @brindabellaoffroad and a rolling tool set to fix it every.time.it.breaks.

  • What is the name of the song?

  • off to get a defender

  • @FreeTrecker All due respect. The New Jeep has class leading quality and off road promptness. I have a Commander with 90K and no problems and the interior is built very nice. (Not great for the price; It was built to kill X5 and so on and falls short on that part.) Don't be so harsh and assume things. I loved my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee; sure it was not most relible but the quality was GREAT on it and it would kick ass off road. I had it for 120K and no real problems other than relays and such.

  • fucking A, the spammers on the motor trend videos! Common MT, block all of them, keep up with your vids!

  • Congrats, Mike! Both your jeeps are looking fantastic!

  • I have a Harvest Tan 1945 cj2a and a Sahara Tan 2012 JK Unlimited. I loved this review. Thanks for using this as an example. Where did you get the cj?

  • How much is the new one? :P HAHA good one. NO seriously how much?

  • @KadenlKelsch jeeps are about 25k~40k$ depending on the model

not cheap. you can buy a Subaru WRX or a Mitsu Lancer Evo for the same price as a wrangler unlimited.

  • i love jeeps i have a 99 Tj

  • Comment removed

  • are u serious the 1945 d=jeep doesnt even have a fucking door Just engines to seat to ass

  • @detroy1234 yes but only need fuel and some one to drive it not like the new ones one sensor and you are fucked up

  • what crap is the new one

    i prefer the old

  • 2005 was the last year the real wrangler was built.

    I have a 2004 4.0L V6

me and the 1940's jeep will probably still be rolling in 10 years 90,000 miles later when that plastic jeep is getting dragged across the scales.

  • @ganymedeIV4 That plastic Jeep's driveline will outlast your TJ with its low pinion crappy dana30, pathetic slip yoke transfercase, Y-geometry steering and flimsy papermache control arms.

  • so i thought they were actually going to drive these jeeps in this video. did you?

  • What s a big deal I can remove doors from any car

  • @ghoxec Yea

And i can remove the doors, the roof, the rear hatch, the windshield, the hood, the QP's, fender flares, mirror speakers and soft top.

And put it all back together before you manage to get the doors off that car.

  • @ganymedeIV4 so you're saying it'll be easy to scrap???

  • @alkimst13 I'll engage my lockers, put it in 4-L and 2 on the gear box.

and drag them scales across some other scales before i give up my all steel jeep.

  • people who say jeep drivers are dick heads are dick heads cause im pretty sure there are nice jeep drivers out there. no rules for things like that so sit on it

  • crapy american car

  • @lllRAC dont hate just because what you have sucks ;)

  • The Old one is alot better they sould make them again and put one for sale for like 1 million and one and only

  • @WarrantOfYou I didnt know drivelines with countless weakpoints ready to beak at a moment's notice were ...."better".

  • er.. it's 2012 already?

  • jeep drivers are dick heads.

  • @Attz0r says the dickhead

  • @FreeTrecker still cheap to buy

  • One thing about Jeep is that most of its drivers are BAD drivers. How often do you see wranglers either ignoring stop signs or dangerously cut you in lane?

  • @PieceOfRiceCake924 Not very often, if ever, so that means toyota drivers are the worst in the world then?

  • gay commercial

  • what a boring review.

  • I'm driving my dads 1996 Jeep Cherokee. Well I was until last week... The Cylinder Blasted out of the bonnet and the car engine basically imploded. I loved that Jeep :(

  • redneck rollercoaster. yeehaw muthafuckas

  • I owned a '63 willys with a Inline 4. Made it Two years of highway driving before it started fogging people out behind me. I also own a "77 golden Eagle with the 304 v8 and glass tub. it's a machine but doubt running both off road and hwy it would last long. So I leave it to what it was designed for. To pull trees, mud and beat the crap out of. All depends on what you want a jeep for.

  • but will it blend?

  • I owned a soft-top Jeep Wrangler for a few years and it was the most fun vehicle I have ever owned, and I'm a guy ! Dont understand the comment above that they're for chicks, thats dumb... BUT I can say I got alot chicks with it OH YEAH !!

  • long live the CJ! oh yeah thats right, mine is still alive.

  • sorry but jeeps are garbage

if you want quality and performance get a land rover.

  • @JaxAdrika lmao Jeremy Clarckson speaking

  • When i hear things about land rovers its nothing but problems. They are junk with a shitty engine. Land rovers are on the top 10 list of the least reliable SUV to own.I own a '91 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4 and hell its not the best looking the interior is not the best but it is in really good shape, there is a little rust here and there, the paint is sun dried but other then that the beast runs good. Its got the AMC Built in America 4.0L Stright 6 engine With 144,287 miles. Im Jeep for life.

  • @WedidLandONtheMOON Amen! You can't beat a Jeep; as they say ITS A JEEP THING.

  • @WedidLandONtheMOON 70% of Land Rovers built are still on the road today. Maybe people repaired them that way, i'm not sure, Im just stating a fact, and give you some food for thought. I'm not hating on Jeep, but i'm just stating something.

  • @AVeryBeautifulLoser Landrover has yet to cite a credible source that generated that information, so until then, 70% are still on the road, the rest actually made it home ;)

  • @JaxAdrika please, share with us your scientific evidence and independant lab tests you used to come to such a (ridiculous) conclusion

    /sarcasm

  • id kill for that 1945 jeep

  • gals drive wrangler

  • Thumbs up if you'd rather have a fully refurbished 1945 CJ than the new Wrangler.

  • @psychedelnick1 Depends. The old CJ's are great but I like to have some comfort of a Wrangler and the Wrangler is better off road.

  • @GmTruckCarLove I got ya on the comfort and offroad of the Wrangler, but the CJ is so damn sexy.

  • @psychedelnick1 Amen to that. Ether way you cut it Jeep kicks ass!

  • @psychedelnick1 we got a fully refurbished 44 jeep

  • tyrdq row1i 545 3g56 e48870

  • Firstly, It's amazing that some version of this US vehicle has survived for 67 years. There have been so many mandated vehicle safety requirements since '45. I've owned many CJ's and loved them all. Owners need to understand that CJ-type Jeeps are not cars and should not be driven as such. When treated well and used in the manner consistant with their intent and design older CJ's almost always become beloved by those who own them.

  • I'd take the '45 CJ over that crap 2012, any day.

  • @cpp1 that crap 2012 will outwheel your '45 any day.

  • The older stuff is better...

  • @FreeTrecker This is why I drive only, 1972 dodge dart swinger 340, 1970 buick gsx 455, 1967 dodge cornet 440. Oh and a 2004 dodge ram 1500. everything new is crap plastic & shit ass engines.

  • that is not -vs-, it is compare

  • heay plz come and chk out my vids... maybe ull like them?:)

  • 3.6L produces around 200 horsepower? wtf they wasting fuel for........ put a smaller engine with more horespower, theres loads around...

  • @msp20088 the 3.8L produces 202hp, the new 3.6 for 2012+ makes 285hp.

  • Everyone should have a jeep for the apocalypse.

  • You would think. I man from 1945 could still drive the new one.

Meaning: for 70 years of evolution, you would expect MUCH more than this.

  • So you made it bigger and heavier. Neither quality being what made the Jeep so desireable in the first place.

FreeTrecker has it right perfectly. I'd rather buy an old rusted out original and fix it up than buy a new one. Jeep needs to go back to their roots, then I'd buy. All this new "better" shit is just stuff that noone needs or wants. K.I.S.S.

  • @ImWatchinTheTube I thought it it was unrivaled offroad performance. Something which the new Jeep does better then any rusted out POS before it, and with a driveline that isn't a ticking time bomb.

  • My dear fellow YouTubers,I would like to say something.

    Cunt.

    That will be all.

    Thank you.

  • Wrangler is a funny word to me XD

  • Imma put 24s on my jeep

  • I'll be honest, if you gave me the choice between a 1945 jeep and a new one, i'd chose the old version

  • @1111Davo1 straight up

  • "Inch"????

It is 2011... catch up with the world and try the metric system :-D

  • Lebron traveled...

  • @FreeTrecker Literally I couldn't agree with you any more

  • name of song please!

  • In 1945 it wasnt a Jeep, or a CJ. It was a GP, which was short for 'General Purpose' vehicle. It had nothing to do with the same company at all. (I think Jeep, per se, has been owned by multiple companies, including GM.)

  • @BBAHUNTER Jeep was never owned by GM. The licensed name went from Willys to Kaiser to AMC to Chrysler to Daimlerchrysler and now Chrysler LLC.

  • jeep in the philippines is the best :D

  • @XxarieztotelxX Dumbass, that is a different one.

  • @creator549 i know but i like it than this,,,

  • Pussies drive Jeep, men drive Range Rovers.

  • @suntanners You mean ... 'Old men' right?

  • I think the Jeep won. lmao

  • Jeep Wranglers are for men.

  • @I8skittles313 (wo)men

  • Holy crap! That jeep wrangler is from 2012!? time travling jeep.... =D

  • @FreeTrecker yeah dude, loved my jeep but @ just over 36k miles the electrical sys went out and they wouldn't cover it under the xtended warranty. wtf.?? so ate $1200 for fix. =[ sold it. peace \|||/

  • @FreeTrecker Why would you buy a Wrangle to drive around on roads like some brand idiot.. Wrangler is meant for off-road.. why you expected a Wrangler to perform like a car built solely for road driving is beyond me.. Maybe next time you should research more about your car, might buy something that finds you useful.

  • Ugh... Now when I think of Jeep I think of Call of Duty

  • I'll stick to my Japanese car.

  • @ernesdee2o916 you do that.

  • id take the 45

  • nigihiga commentating?

  • we should start using the SI units and start a revolution just four the fuck of it.

  • I LOVE MY JEEP!!! (and it's a stick shift by the way which makes it so much more fun to drive!)

  • /watch?v=QCOKS5e18rY

  • Jeep<3

  • thats a sick guitar going on

  • nobody would offroad a 1945 jeep in good condition anymore because they have collector value.

  • thats not a jeep it's a willys

  • thumbs up of you hate people that ask for thumbs!

  • @krock2653 isn't it grtting old ??

  • I wanted to see you remove the doors and fold down the windshield.

  • Jeep Wranglers are for chicks

  • @kiloggolik lmao your a bitch

  • @Jrye37 Nah, I don't drive a Jeep.

  • @kiloggolik and MacGyver

  • i want a jeep when i grow up

  • @ObongoBongoBongo i work at wal-mart so I see a lot of them lol

  • good.........

  • MY MOM HAS ALWAYS LOVED, JEEPS BUT SHE NEVER GOT DA CHANCE TO GET ONE!

  • more plastic

  • I have owned Grand Cherokee's for 10 years now, 3 models.

    this made me cry

  • Look at the finish of that interior. Definitely not for off-roading or it's gonna be a bitch to clean.

  • @n3rdbear its smooth and very easy to wipe off, get over it, your flat dash is not coming back, ever.

  • @JSSJeepin lol

  • I want to have one like this !

  • I clicked this video because I thought this jeep could do a "wheelie" and drive on it's spare tire.

  • Same old engine. This is from Jeeps webpage

    2011 Wrangler

    3.8L V6 Engine

    6-Speed Manual Transmission

    3.8L V6 Engine

    4-Speed Automatic Transmission

    202 hp 237 ft-lb of torque 15 city/19 hwy[1]

  • Willeys Jeep was great, side valve, super reliable and built like a tank, Wrangler is junk still sporting live axles that went out of date 30 years ago & so old hat its a relic but not a very good one, hence its sales are very limited overseas as it cant compete with the far more modern and superior competition

  • @trackend So I guess that's why the Wrangler is making record sales in nearly every country it is sold in? and stealing the marketshare of more established "better" competition? Get your head out of your ass. Jeep hasn't even tried to market itself outside the US because it never needed to, but Fiat is changing that.

  • @JSSJeepin if your best argument is get your head out of your ass it demonstrates what an intellectual giant you must be no wonder you like the Wrangler you certainly are a fantasist if you believe its even going to make a tiny dent in the sales of companies like Toyota, Mercedes or even Landrover. The Jeep Wrangler is a Red Neck mud plugger with about as much finesse as a interbred Hillbilly and totally outmoded just watch its overseas sales fold in the next 12 months

  • @trackend I'm not the one walking around with my eyes shut. The funny thing is you call it outmoded, yet Toyota and Landrover stil make vehicles with the same technology (OHV engines, solid axles) to compete.

Sales haven't folded for decades, you'll be waiting a long time for that pipe dream of yours.

  • @trackend And for the record, your lack of ability to even catch my argument and name tossing speaks volumes about YOUR level of intelligence.

  • @JSSJeepin cant think of anything original to say then it figures. what's next ?YEEHAW or GEE WHIZZ

get out your banjo the grits is on the griddle

  • @trackend I rest my case.

  • @JSSJeepin he he he you lot are so easy to wind up, I take it you own a Jeep tin tub if its got a wheel on each corner what ever make it is, it is just a car thats all, not a bloody God. Use it, drive it, then dump it when it's worn out and buy another. how anal can you get over a pile of nuts and bolts

  • @trackend For some people, it is their favorite thing in the world. Much like sports is just some guy running around hitting a ball, or music is just talking in a funny way.

For me personally, its a bit of being young/a bit too impulsive with my emotions and really disliking the ridiculous mentality that comes with "XX sucks and everything else is better!" because they have no substance to support their argument...and these people vote!

  • And now Jeep is a copy of Land cruiser.

  • I FUCKING LOVE JEEPS!!!!
