@only1chunky yes, it's possible but it takes at least a week to get them to trust you, and about 5 days to teach a very intelligent rat a trick, feed them small treats often and they will enjoy your company more

i am getting three rats from the same litter in 3 days. they are all male. i am twelve years old. do you think that i will be able to teach them tricks and get them to trust me properly? i really want to have the best time with them as i can. :)

I love watching them wrap their tails around the drying rack, so that they don't fall! I love My ratties' tails! I love to pet them, and I love it when they give me a tail mustache! LOL

Always have two rats, preferably the same sex. If they are male and female then they have to be separate. A good cage is $100 or more. Rats are adorable and great friends. Unless you are dedicated to play with them every day and feed them properly please don't get one. Both of my girls are rescued from people buying rats on impulse and getting rid of them. Sadly one was pregnant when I got her so now I have small little babies hoping around that need a home :P

@MikuMikuBeat Yah that was impressive. :D But rats can jump quite far if they get practice. In my experience they don't jump to places they're not already comfortable with (unless frightened with no where else to go) and, being cautious as always, tend not to jump much farther than they have before, but with the right environment and time they can do some amaaaazing jumps if they want! lol

If you are considering getting a rat, i recommend getting 2 or more as they are happier with company from eachother, there most active at night and thats when you sleep so need a friend. you need a decent size cage, prices vary but they love to climb so the bigger the better! :)

ive seen a decent one on ebay if you search freddie rat cage and it is £30 and is new! Which is good because i got mine for £70 at the pet shop and is exactly the same!

Rats can wrestle and playfight but is harmless although some rats dont get on but if you buy 2 brothers or 2 sisters then theres a slim chance of them not getting on, ive never had to split siblings up. the freddie rat cage is good too i have it as a spare :)

I will tell you this, No rats real never FIGHT FIGHT, just get them at the same time (From the same place..) and no rats are not a lot, from a breeder they are like 10-15$ and from a store they are like 4-13 $ Rats make awsome pets, a good cage will cost you atleast 80$e, if you have to get a cage dont get a Tank, or Pine, Cedar bedding, Females are said to be smaller, and more active, males are said to be large, less active but i always see Males being More active and bigger so its not true2mch

There's a cage at Petsmart that got great reviews for like $100. It's got three levels, a hammock, a deep food/treat dish, and a wheel.

@EhMaGawDitsNick make sure the bottom of the cage doesn't have wires... it will give them bumble foot... a very bad blister on there feet and its hard to get rid of

I have to agree with you on that one. The one with a black stripe down her back called Coco has all the courage in the world theres no where she wont go now, but i love that she has no fear and can climb almost anything. :)

It is called a 'treat ball' I bought mine in pets at home.

Its very good if they play and exercise with it and roll it so the food comes out.

Mine has lots of holes in it now due to a previous rat loving it :D
