hey im 14.i played jv in 7th grade in sc. i like the no errors.thats nice.i play pitcher and i pitch mid 70s on a 60 foot.and im about to go get lessons on how to bring my arm all the way back. but on the first 2 grounders it looked like you had bat feet. but its probaly just because it was your first too. but hit the gym and get stronger and you will see how much better you get
@Eviolinist11 i thought i had a good chance and was told so by one of the coaches. they said i was one they were looking at. gotta try again next time...
@Jm0ney151 go deep with the legs and you'll get more power. i forget this all the time then when i have a showcase where i have to show off my arm i do it. i should do it more on everyday basis
Hey cole-man looking good...what kind of workout you do in the off season? what are the plans for 2011? will you be playing any tournaments in the NY area? when do you turn 14?
@mxpassion17 no such thing as off season in cali. plan to play with abd bulldogs and my home team the bandits. no tourneys in ny as of yet. i'll be 14 end of march. let me know if you come to sd to play.
@MrJMan779 they have to varify the number you have pinned on the back of your jersey and compare it with your name so they know they are evaluating the right person
@cleveland963 working on that now. i have time to collect the ball, have a sandwich and still get the guy at 1st now. however, next year in hs the speed will be much faster so i'm going back to one step.
@Heavilinhobby they are a 13u team who have great defense and aslo they have 2 allstar pitchers. There shortstop is similar to you they also have won 1 usssa world series
@TheBaseball17player wow. do you have any video of you guys playing? i'd like to see some. maybe of the ss too? if you don't have any film, maybe you could shoot some?
@Heavilinhobby i will try to get some this year because the season started back and the ss is going to be out for a while he broke his leg but he will be back very soon.
@BaseballXaverian2010 good question... i guess it is both. not a true tryout where you just tryout in a practice format. here you have teams, a tournament and they test you in several different areas... all in order to make the national roster. i would call it a showcase-style tryout.
Nice!!! My Team Hosted the NTIS Regional for the Midwest, I made it to NC for the 14u age group last year. You might want to work on your swing a tad bit but your REALLY talented and will be better than be when your my age...What region did you go to the NTIS for? And did you make the national team (i didnt haha Only 1 kid from the midwest region did).
I've been busy with winning a championship here, and all the celebrating, but got a look at the punk rock girl vid and these and also wanted to look at that PROS204-50 in the glove review...also wanted to say hi.
At SS, with a man on 2nd pay attention to the runner when you pat your glove, break back to your spot when he retreats...and make sure el pitcher knows to pitch when he sees you break back to your spot. When you want to turn that ?-6-4 DP on bunts, this will come in handy. Also, when you just want to get that lead runner at 3rd in Sac bunt situations...conversely, the 2B can get the runner back to second, then sprint to first on the bunt to get the throw from third (SS covering).
@nakedvolleyball Whatever your team strategy or intent is, it is very cool when a SS knows how to get runners to retreat while the pitcher is actually delivering to the plate. However this must be communicated to the pitcher so he understand, otherwise you get guys taking good secondary leads, which can lead to successful sac bunts and runs scored easier on basehits.
Dudes, very nice. Cole looks like you've practiced some running. I noticed on the first swing in the 2 sets of 5 that you were (or seemed to be) more toward the back leg on contact, ergo the fouling off.
@nakedvolleyball right on every point. my dad has been telling me i'm getting too far forward on my swing and showed it to me on my videos. unfortunately, i had to lunge once to figure it out. i try to stay back but just get too excited sometimes and can't wait long enough. my dad is harping on patience and letting the ball travel and for me to stay loaded a hair longer instead of spinning out. good comments on defense too.
Hey, Cole, I think you should be called "Cool-Man"! What agility; what speed; what performance in general. You're the best ! Love your smile at the beginning and the end of the video. Love, your proud grandma
