  • top 5 pick ever

  • Is that Chauncey Billups congratulating him at the start??

  • It was such an honor having TD21 on the SPURS, damn was he the biggest beast ever as a PF. GO SPURS GO!!!

  • tim doesnt age

  • He has 2 mvps 3 finals mvps 4 time champ the only thing he hasn't done is committed a foul :)

  • wait?, he got booed?, hahaha, wtf?!, greatest power forward of all time, imagine, just two years later, he would help the spurs win a title!, UNBELIEVABLE!

  • Legend ! 4 time champ, 3 finals mvp, 2 mvp titles. his achievements are similar to shaq ones, but tim duncan is a humble and quiet guy and because of that he never gets such hype and credit as other players, but i respect him for that, because he is all about basketball, the love for the game and not for media, television etc. he deserves a statue in san antonio after his retirement and of couse his jersey retired.

  • probably the classiest star player ever in the nba

  • Best #1 pick of all time.

  • @CreatureLikeGod

shaq was also no 1 pick .... so was iverson. and there are several good no.1 picks ... I won't give him a "all time" badge but definitly one of the bests

  • he's gonna be a bust

  • @billslover90 Tim Duncan is millions of times smarter, and more talented. Who cares if Shawn Kemp is a better dunk, he was ringless. And no one talks about Shawn Kemp when people are talking about the who the greatest PF of all time.

  • I heard Tony Parker went to play basketball in France for only 2,000 a month man Tim Duncan would never do that

  • @chocolatethunderx2 i think tony parker did that because he just doesn't want to get out of shape. NBA is in a lock out right now we all know that.. so when the time comes the NBA will re-open tony will be still in great shape.

  • @chocolatethunderx2 He only played for 2,000 a month because he's the vice president for that club.

  • how many rings does this man have?

  • @martyxcallsiefer 4 rings, and 3 final mvps

  • spurs have the best scouting in the nba. they draft duncan then they drafted tony parker as a 28th pick and ginobilli as a fucking 57th pick

  • The San Antonio Spurs Do Not select Sam Bowie.

  • @trevinboy what the hell are u saying?? you are in the 1997 draft.. not in the 1984. move on man.

  • ve o günden sonra spurs'un kaderi değişti...

  • Best power forward ever, it's no debate for all those trying to say he's not

  • LOL POPS SMILE CUZ HE SCORED BIG HE KNOWS HE DID GREAT

  • biggest bust in NBA history ;) *wink *wink

  • Nah. Second biggest day. First when the Spurs got David Robinson

  • @chocolatethunderx2 That's a good debate ;)

  • Arguably the Biggest Day In Spurs History!!!!

  • 0:01 With the first pick in the 1997 NBA draft, the San Antonio Spurs select a first ballot Hall of Famer, from Wake Forest University.

  • My second favorite player ever is Tim Duncan he is the best power forward ever in the NBA.Go Spurs

  • still kemp and malone were more exciting power forwards than duncan

  • @billslover90 they couldn't up stats like duncan, 32 points, 20 rebounds, 7 blocks, 4 assists, 3 steals, game 1 of the 2003 nba finals bruh...

  • @billslover90 more exciting yes, but they pale in comparison to Duncan. Even the greats acknowledge Tim as the best PF to ever play the game, Bill Russel said so himself, and everyone in the league respects Duncan to no end.

  • @MarkToTheSky who was the best pf before duncan...was it karl malone, dennis rodman...who was it????

  • @billslover90 Bob Pettit held the title for years, and there was also Elvin Hayes. Duncan is just so superior to any other power forward to play the game

  • wow he used to actually move well

  • The Spurs began a new era from here.

  • tim duncan is a once in a generation player. I don't think were going to see any seniors go number #1 any time soon. thats what all players should do. stayed humble and worked hard

  • Boy this pick was a bust lol

  • pop creamed himself

  • Legend

  • Best Power Forward of All Time.

  • Comment removed

  • @billslover90 I agree with you, Kemp probably would best Duncan in a one on one or personally out match him in a team game...but I think Duncan would end up the victor is a team game 7 game series. Duncan was never about stats or flair. I personally Love Kemp...one of my all time favorite players...while im not very interested in duncan , except that he is good.

  • @billslover90 kemp will posterize duncan?? duncan will block your man. shawn kemp doesn't have any accomplishment in NBA.. he didn't even win in a slam dunk contest the you are telling that he will posterize a former MVP, 4 time champ and considered as the best PF of all time? I am a Karl Malone fan in the PF position but i got to give it to Tim. and shawn kemp was nothing but a jumping machine. period.

  • @The122310 couldn't you tell i was trolling around. 90s was the best year to be a basketball fan...chicago bulls, shaq and penny, malone and stockton, kemp and payton, reggie's pacers vs ewing's knicks, and nba jam. the 2000's is all nfl now!!!!!

  • @billslover90 and now ur eating ur words. lol

  • yoyo thekingofpimpin, if you really want to develop in basketball, you have got to start following a genuine workout routine. I used widely known nba workout training here at 50-inch-vertical(dot)com. I haven t even told this to my college teammates yet lol

  • bet all GM's were thinking 'oh fuck...david robinson and tim duncan down in the paint....'

  • i hear EJ's voice lol

  • @aprilrolf Why would I do that when I can search Nate Robinson and see a 5'8 guy dunking a 10ft hoop over Dwight Howard?

  • david stern has the streak for announcing the draft of the greatest players

  • @vatsacycle He's been going strong since the '84 draft.

  • THE GOAT!

  • And to think, if David Robinson doesn't get injured, the Spurs wouldn't have been in the draft lottery in 1997, and some other team would have drafted Duncan.

  • BUST

  • most humble player ever

  • He is the main reason of Spurs four rings.Maybe in a market like Boston or L.A he would be seen as most complete player ever.

  • @230205 I think your mother is boring .

    Do u think u play better than him??u son of a b******h

  • who wouldve known pop and tim would go on to win 4 nba championships and who knows if it wasnt for an o.4 shot or a bad call in game 7 agaisnt the mavs probably 6!! go spurs go!

  • Nothing talks louder then championship. Ride Lebron's jock all you want. Kobe has 5, Shaq has 4, Tim has 4. LA with a side of San Antonio have owned the NBA since Jordan's 2nd retirement. Boring...nothing is more exciting then polishing you own championship rings.

  • his player pic at 1:08 looks like an old nba live player pic lol

  • DUNCAN dominated everyone

you FAKER FAGS suck his left nut.

  • so underated and i dont know y he is the best all around big man of all-time

    1. Kobe/Michael

    2. Kobe/Michael

    3. Tim Duncan

  • @MJ23GREATESTEVER tim duncan best PF to play the game i didnt create that the critics and those who pick the hall of famers

  • hey Pop.... ur boner is showing.

  • the most boring player in NBA history

  • @230205 (BORING?) His stats aren't boring, nor are his diamonds on his championship rings!

  • @230205 The worst message in Youtube's history.

  • @230205 Boring if you don't like basketball, maybe. If you actually like the game of basketball, he is as fun to watch as anyone.

  • TRUE LOYAL PLAYER THAT STICKS TO HIS TEAM AND STICKS IT OUT TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • I really really hope he gets a ring for his thumb bf he hangs it up. Fking Spurs organization owes him that much.

  • The big fundamental, what a player and what a class act!

  • does he ever smile??

  • Best day in Spurs history

  • I've never seen this Pop so happy.

  • The Fundamental....Dynasty in making..He is right up there with Kareem Abdul Jabbar..hell with Shaq.

  • @blaqsoldier fuck u shaq is the most dominant center ever

  • @cowskater only because hes been the fattest center in history not that hard if u have at least 60 lbs on everyone at your position. lol shaq leaves the painted area and he suddenly becomes the worst center. funny

  • @SAtownZ28 shaq has always dominated duncan

shaq in his prime was probably the most unstoppable basketball player ever

  • @cowskater like i said only in the paint and he also had at least 50 lbs on duncan (in his early days in LA). his weight is the only reason why he was so dominate in the paint. duncan is way more skilled in all areas. better shooter, better defense, better rebounder, better passer, higher IQ. its the same reason why lebron is so dominate. he is just physically superior than everybody else at his position. TD>Shaq

  • @SAtownZ28 jus cause he is bigger than everybody doesnt automatically make him dominant, look at eddy curry or some other big fat guys

shaq was so much more dominant than bitch ass duncan

  • @cowskater yes the only reason is because he was bigger. he would backdown, throw his fat ass into everyone and run over you and because of his size the refs would hesitate to blow the whistle for a charge. its not hard to score when your the only guy under the basket because you just sent your defneder flying. like i said before lebron is a great example he drives and runs over everyone and the only call you hear is blocking foul. lol and eddy curry is your only example.

  • @SAtownZ28 So I guess Oliver Miler was a beast too huh?

  • @cowskater There is a game posted here where Duncan dominates Shaq on both ends of the floor. Watch it. Shaq vs Duncan 03 West Semis.

  • @007nites lol wow, one game

and that was the year shaq was coming off an injury, lol fuck outta here

shaq is more dominant and has more longevity

  • @cowskater 6'11 PF vs 7'2 hippo. lol only reason why he was dominate is because he was a fat ass that used his weight & size as an excuse to truck over other post players & not have charges called. shaq is very limited to only the paint. get shaq 10 feet away from the basket on both ends of the floor & he disappears. Duncans a much better all around player on both ends of the court. only reason why shaq was successful is because his fat ass & he played on a team surrounded by shady officiating.

  • @SAtownZ28 ur a retard, a prime shaq could run the fast break

he could have been the greatest of all time if he wasnt so lazy

  • @cowskater shaq went to LA got much bigger compared to shaq in Orlando. thats when he became the "Dominate" shaq. why. wait i already posted why in my previous comment. never had calls called agaisnt him because of his size & the jersey he was wearing. same thing is happening with lebron. only due to his size is he dominate. he trucks people and blcoking fouls are called just like shaq. yea really easy to be dominate when the refs are constanly looking the other way. fucking retard. Shaq blows

  • @SAtownZ28 I agree to a certain extent. Shaq doesn't blow but he has poor basketball skills. He had a great basketball I.Q(only basketball) and knew where to be and when he had to be there. I would take tim any day of the week though. Not very athletic but great footwork great touch and great D. Everything you would want in a big. As for LBJ. He's dominant because of his size it's WITH his athletic ability. And when his J is on..forget it. Look at his play this year including playoffs.

  • That was the last time pop ever smiled.

  • @mikefly3113 lmfao

  • @mikefly3113 nope. the last time pop smiled was june of 2007.

  • @mikefly3113 I think he's smiled at least 4 times since then.

  • @mikefly3113 hey, don't forget that time he did the hack a shaq in the beginning of the game...he was smiling big time then

  • @mikefly3113 not really, he smiled when SA beat Lakers in reg season in 2010

  • I wonder if he knew he was gonna give San Antonio 4 championships

  • I love Tim Duncan cuz he has all the skills but doesn't flash at all.

The Best PF of all time

  • And Tony in 2003 was a second year point guard who was still raw and undisciplined. In the finals, he had to be replaced at times with Speedy Claxton.

I always find it funny how non Spurs fans always think that Tim had Tony and Manu from the beginning. But no he didn't. They were late round draft picks that had to develop before they became stars.

  • jmoney, in 2003, David Robinson was a shell of his former self. Still effective but who was very inconsistent.. Manu Ginobli was a rookie. Bowen and S Jackson were in their first season with the Spurs. Their bench was basically veteran players in their last years. So, no Tim has not always had 2-3 other stars. .It was not until 2005 that Manu and Tony became the stars they are today.

  • The year before the Spurs had so many injuries the trainers had to participate in order to hold a full practice. Turns out it was the best thing to happen to them.

  • he still looks the same XD

  • tem um cara entornando a cara na cerveja ali mano!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dirk doesnt have the clutch gene, tim definately does. BEST EVER PERIOD GO SPURS GO

  • Ha! I love it when Hubie Brown says "the only negative, is the foul shooting. And hopefully he can improve on that." Well 4 titles later, God Bless him, he's still horrible at the charity stripe! I love it. GO SPURS GO!!!

  • def best power foward of all time no question.. i would love for someone to argue that lol

  • Thanx Tim Duncan you brought hopes to San Antonio when selected and gave us 4 championships hopefully another before u retire

  • Best pick San Antonio ever thanx Tim Duncan you brought hopes for us..

  • i don't think at this time the spurs knowed how good this pick was ! it was the begenning of an amazing history. thanks for the video.

  • @75ervine knowed? really?

  • Popovich is the best coach on the nba the only coach like him is phil jackson and that why Duncan is a great player cause he was on a team that always knows what to do he isnt the most talented he is a bad free throw shooter and he is short for Center position which he often plays but he is smart

  • @QOTSAPT ur oponion sux.. dirk is the best power foward to come out of a foreign country but thats it.. duncan has 5 star footwork and the best bank shot the nba has ever seen.. and almost enough rings to put on one hand.. i could name a couple power fowards that had better careers.. karl malone for one who is the nbas all time second leading scorer traling kareem by only about 2000 points.. ur argument is totally irrelevant

  • @KicoNKica Duncan had a great career but as an individual he wasnt as important as dirk is for dallas, the spurs have the best coach who picks the best players for the team so they can win titles, dirk is a weird player 7 foot and shooting around 50% from the perimeter, he isnt the traditional PF or C but more valuable

  • @QOTSAPT yea dirk can spread the floor with his shooting and pop is a great coach ill give u that.. but if u look at his individual career achievements he outshines dirk all day.. offensively dirk may be better but as the saying goes defense wins championships.. timmy is an 8 time all nba defensive first team and 5 time all nba defensive 2nd team which means every year hes been in the nba hes been on an all defensive team. u cant coach defense. timmy also has 2 mvp titles and dirk only has 1..

  • @QOTSAPT plus dirk hasnt been on an nba defensive team ever which is sad if ur an nba star.. that means his play in the nba is strictly offense and no defense.. that doesnt make u a complete player if ur all offense.. dirk=excelent offense and no defense. timmy d=excelent offense and outstanding defense.. i think all 30 nba head coaches would take tim duncan over dirk nowitzki if they had the chance

  • @KicoNKica I wouldnt say that cause you arent giving the deserved credit to popovich some coaches are lucky to have some players and there are players that are gratefulll to have some coaches, with spurs its a bit of both, anyway this year Duncan is sticking to the role of leader he isnt playing the key role on the team anyway unlike last year spurs are favourites for the title

  • @QOTSAPT no i repect ur opinion.. pop in my mind is the second best coach in the league no doubt.. but u gotta remember that the year b4 timmy came into the league pops record as head coach was 17-47 and thats still with david robinson in the lineup.. when they got duncan they improved dramatically to 56-26.. i mean if that doesnt tell u gow important duncan is to that team than idk what will

  • @KicoNKica with all due respect, let's not forget that David Robinson missed 76 games, which would explain why the Spurs were even in the lottery in the 1st place. but I do agree that Tim Duncan and Coach Pop put the Spurs over the top.

  • @dalastdon1432 oh definitely great point David Robinson is the reason why the Spurs are where they are right now and Tim Duncan is still the leader of the team along with manu ginobli today.

  • @QOTSAPT ok. i didnt forgot to mention that he is a team player

  • Who's the blonde?! WOW!

  • woww. Gregg Popovich was the VP of Basketball Operations, General Manager, AND Head Coach and won the spurs the title two years later? Can anyone say HOF?

  • I can see it in his look, i am going in with david robinson. i already have an nba, championship ring!!

  • this turned out to be 4 championships, wut a pick

  • What makes duncan great is he is smart. He has a very high basketball I.Q.

  • Well, this guy ended up being a complete bust.... I wonder if he's working in McDonald's now?

  • @CharlesNigro how the hell is the greatest pf ever a bust

  • @CharlesNigro Your a fag go watch hockey, dont ever post comments on basketball again.

  • @KillerBod101 What's a hockey.

  • Popovich probably jizzed his pants right there.

  • he looks the same and his stats are still the same mr. fundamental

  • LOL at his pic. MWAAHAHAHHA !!!

  • the greatest most boring player ever!!

  • @nappy808boy You're a fucking idiot. Hahahaha!

  • @nappy808boy if u think being an affective scorer is boring then u should be a fan of another sport.. scoring buckets dont need to be fancy.. as long as they go in than who gives a fuck???

  • holy shit craig actaully wore a normal suit

  • Tim es the very best ever all the way aroun hes only down side is that he likes to bring parker to his house and hes wife is always there jaja he better be very carefull and not let parker get to close to his wife jaja or ask Brent Berry.

  • craig sager has a normal jacket!

  • I hate when they try and nit pick negatives on nba draft. He's a full rounded pf and they still try and find something smfh

  • It only took him 2 seasons

  • Best PF ever

  • The most NBA ready player to come out in draft history.

  • @TheEntertainmentonly In the last 25 years, that's for sure.

  • Best player in the modern era, screw Kobe & Shaq, Jordan & Pippen, late 90's, this guy carried an underrated team to 4, count 'em 4 championships as the solo stud, Parker & Ginobili helped out in ought7 but this guy is the BEST PF ever, sorry Karl Malone, you may finish with more points but 4 Titles & Dominance in the Lakers era crushes the Stockton/Malone pick n roll 0fer!!

  • Still can't believe he's about to retire soon. Best PF since he was drafted.

  • @nichikun30 wtf are you talkin about his got like 5 years left to play LOL jjaja

  • At 0:41 Pop is laughing like "He's gonna make me alot of moneyyyyy" lol

  • tim duncan = greatest post player ever!!

  • Who knows if Tim Duncan is a fan of the CBS drama "Criminal Minds". If he watched the fifth episode of the show's first season, titled "Broken Mirror" and airing OCT. 19, 2005, he would have seen actress eLISAbeth ROSE Harnois playing identical twins TRISH & CHERYL DAVENPORT. For a MOMENT, it might have reminded Duncan of home since he grew up with sisters triCIA & CHERYL in Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Unrelated: The driver of bus #118 turning 36 the day the episode aired

  • Who knows if Tim Duncan watches the CBS drama "Criminal Minds". The fifth episode from the show’s first season, titled “Broken Mirror”, originally aired OCT. 19, 2005. At IMDB.moc, an episode summary is written by site user ID HUGgO. This is unrelated to 1989's Hurricane HUGO destroying the community swimming pool used by Tim Duncan as a teen in Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands or random visits to the U.S. ATLANTIC coast on OCT. 19, 2000--exactly five years before the episode aired

  • haha so much emotion during his college days at Wake Forest

  • Best fundamentals on history, probably shares that with Hakeem Olajuwon. Never another player did so much being so simple.

  • lol at tim's picture in his profile!

  • Lol at 0:41

  • This guy turned out alright. :)

  • one of the most consistant players to ever play the game

  • Comment removed

  • I will cry the day he retires. Even if he doesnt stay in SA afterwards, he will always be loved and welcomed

  • @phantazzmo Would you think he will leave the Spurs, where he won 4 titles with, the ONLY 4 titles Spurs won? :P

  • saying Tim Duncan is a poor free throw shooter is like saying Albert Pujols doesn't steal a lot of bases. so what? he's great at everything else.

  • thekingofpimpin, yo that's crazy. That is spurting from a 5 6 PG who can dunk with EASE. I checked out the training program at 50inch vertical[dot]com and increased past 12 inches on my dunk.

NBA Draft 1997 - Tim Duncan (Pick NO.1) phkcfotegtocstnz hzgppsblsscoaexin #thekingofpimpin

  • at 1:11 he looks so excited to be taking that picture, its unbelievable! lol!

  • Do you guys think the spurs will drop a few places in the 2010-2011 in order to get a good SF?

  • that moment, popovich knew that it's the start a dynasty

  • shit, impossible moves. thekingofpimpin I particularly like the middle =) Could you believe that I worked out enough to begin dunking! I just used the a real workout plan at "50inch vertical (dot) com" and managed it in just 2 months!

  • too bad duncan hasnt improved his free throws to make him even better but whatever mr fundamental has a great nba career anyways.

  • best dressed out of all the draftees

  • Tim Duncan:

The Greatest Player of the post Jordan ERA without question.

  • Duncan shoots 69% percent from the line.... Not great, but not horrible either.... especially for a big man. I'd take Duncan before any other player besides Wilt, Jabbar & Magic. I take him before Dr.J, Bird, Oscar, West, Jordan, Olajuwon, Russell, Gervin, Thompson & LeBron. No other players are really even worth mentioning in the same category as Duncan. There's WILT, Jabbar, Magic, Duncan, Julius, Bird, Jordan, Oscar, West and Russell and then everyone else that played.

  • @muze1877 did you rank jordan seventh?
