I first heard this when i was 19 and i still love it now im 27! Passion, heart & soul all in one that still is magic and haunting, i just cant say enough about this song its amazing!! will always stay on the ipod!
well the truth that I share the comment I also gives me chills, is a topic that brings thousands of memories, now thanks to him under a great affection
Yes, written earlier but performed to welcome the new full time fiddle player. Held in the back pocket until Fisherman's Blues album. Fantastic Mike Scott period, shame about recent years.
What a jolt to the heart when they finally opened that back pocket. We saw them in '89, at the Masonic Temple in Toronto, on a stage far, far too small for the size of band Mike was hauling around on that tour. And yet, through a loaves-and-fishes-worthy act of will, they not only found room for themselves up there, but made room for Steve Wickham to turn and turn and turn and turn and not so much play as *dance* the music out of that fiddle: The single most joyful thing I have ever witnessed.
Thank you, willowmansdaughter, for that comment. It honestly brought tears to my eyes reading it. I can completely understand what you mean. Thank you!
Waterboys opened for U2 at massey hall in Toronto back in '82 or '83. Still ranks as the best show I've ever seen. Love the Waterboys! highly overlooked and underrated band.

This song only came out at the end of '88, so you can be sure it's not 1986.
