  • is there a train every 10 mins?

  • nice catching!

  • WOW!!!! @2:48

  • I would rather glue my butt cheeks together rather than watch this again...

  • The train that passed through Kearney (2:11) had a great RS3LR horn!

  • 3:36 the filmer gets a wave.

  • The lead triple windshield SD60M at 1:57 has serious flat spots. Rough ride for the crew.

  • It's now called the Kearney Subdivision from North Platte to Gibbon Jct. It still has three main lines (with concrete ties and 140lb rail) and they've installed 10,000 ft sidings between crossover locations. About 100 to 140 trains traverse this area and Bailey Yard has two classification yards (one for eastbound traffic and one for westbound traffic) and it's CTC-ATC.

  • UP has quite a few C&NW locomotives in use.

  • @09JDCTrainMan This video was shot a couple years after the merger of the CNW. At this time, there were several CNW locomotives on the UP system.

  • the sky at 4:05 looks like a funnel cloud when the train rolls by

  • chris why did Up have some of BN's oakways in that one shot?

  • @BNSF9250 Don't know. Many years ago. I would assume horsepower hours payback.

  • @clasko69 chris are you gonna try to include some of BNSF recently reactivated SD60Ms in some of your new videos? also are you chasing the 3985 from cheyene to st louis?

  • U.P. with CSX? Wow! Very interesting!

  • You wanna see some trains, sit in Gibbon, NE. A train every 6 minutes.

  • Did you see the tractor trailer wobble @ 1:54?

  • LOADAS of RS3L horn action in this tape!!! Great video!!

  • i think about all the years i worked on the rail road. i started when i was 18 and it was for the katy rail road. we layed three miles of rail a day and i was lucky enough to get to lay plates on each tie the whole way. then at the end of the day we got to walk back to our cars three miles. if we was lucky we hitchhiked. then union pacific bought them out in 88 i worked for them for years about 15 all together. the only thing i regret is the accidents i worked. then you dont forget. god bless.

  • boy i always likeing those SD90Mac's

  • 3:40, why does he have all his doors open?

  • maybe to get some fresh air?

  • For the motor or the CREW!? NEEEAAAAAAA!!!!! :-D

  • maybe both? but mostly the crew

  • Yea, I know how it gets in a non-aircondionted cab, and any crew member can agree with me. Espcially these BRUTAL, MUGGY Texas / Louisiana summers!! UGH!!!

  • To get airflow into the cab to make the crew more comfortable. They would frequently do that before locomotives became air-conditioned.

  • Love those unpatched CNW units. 5 stars

  • @marodude752002 agreed R.I.P CN&W

  • well looks like i found my vacation destination ^^

what length do those trains have?

  • At 4:00 what locomotive mfg is the 8037?

  • EMD

  • Great video, I love rail watching through Nebraska. It's the train capital of the US.

  • i think they were both AC 4400!? idk? nice!
