Lupe and Andre 3000 are both great rappers, and please leave the comparisons and who's better alone, please.....I do listen to 3000 more, but Lupe is dope, too. Arguably the best rapper of the 21st century. Dre's been out since the Early 90s when he did a track with TLC, and his progression to where he is now from how he started is better than any MC ever, imo. Dre's a poet, Lupe's one two. Just enjoy one of the all time greats, he shut this track down. Just wish I could find Big Boi's part too.

I have both of Lupe's albums and he is undoubtedly the best young rapper, but he built upon the work of Andre 3000/Outkast. 3 Stacks was a pioneer, lyrically and creatively and that's why he's better.
When Lupe changes the game completely then can he compete. Besides, it's music, ART, and subjective

But I must say even though 3K is one of the pioneers I'd only go as far as creatively because there are MANY before him who changed the way we interpret lyrics today. Lupe and Andre 3000 are both great rappers, and please leave the comparisons and who's better alone, please.....I do listen to 3000 more, but Lupe is dope, too. Arguably the best rapper of the 21st century. Dre's been out since the Early 90s when he did a track with TLC, and his progression to where he is now from how he started is better than any MC ever, imo. Dre's a poet, Lupe's one two. Just enjoy one of the all time greats, he shut this track down. Just wish I could find Big Boi's part too.

Maybe you should read the definition of cliche, and why would he mock people who rap about pimps and street shit when lots of people can relate, artists who have been there, done that and convey that through their music do so to connect with that audience. I listened again..... and still cringed. His label should have kept that song off the cd. @TrifeLid88 Nooo way haha Lupe's ideas are far more creative than Andre 3000 (the Legend). Lupe describes himself as a an island, a pair of pants, FOOD, a robot, a bomb, etc... AND manages to stay relevant. There is simply no one on Lupe's level so far. I just haven't heard anyone with his kind of ideas, pop culture references, historical references,wordplay, double/triple/quadruple entendres,flow,multis, switch in tempo..remember the 3rd verse of "hurt me soul". @cisseusa123 You cant seriously compare Lupe to Andre 3000. Lupe is an amazing lyricist like I said. But Andre 3000 is a serious contender for the greatest of all time. Look at what he was doing in 1994. His creativity is on a different level compared to any other MC. Listen to every bar he has laid down, for example... the tiempo and lyrics on his verse on Aquemini and then his verse on 30 Something... both different but both always on point, he's a genius.

Go back and study or listen to what Talib Kweli, Jay-Z and Eminem say about 3 Stacks.

Ex: "I got a lot of shit on my mind, I wipe the boo-boo from my brain etc..". So I really think it's ridiculous to put 3K on Lupe's CREATIVE level. Maybe 3K has mastered levels that Lupe hasn't simply because of longevity but no one is fucking with Lupe creatively. Come on dude, "Twilight Zone", "Failure". You gotta be kidding.

Lupe is great lyrically, i'm a massive fan but he isn't better than Andre 3000 as an all round MC. Look at what 3 Stacks has achieved and listen to his most recent verses on the likes of Royal Flush, Ride Remix Lookin 4 Ya and Deuces. If Outkast wanted to come back and destroy anybody in the game they could.

@cisseusa123 I disagree. Lupe came in clearly making concept albums. If your main goal is to make a concept album, of course you're going to be deliberately (sometimes forcedly) creative. I have both of Lupe's albums and he is undoubtedly the best young rapper, but he built upon the work of Andre 3000/Outkast. 3 Stacks was a pioneer, lyrically and creatively and that's why he's better.
When Lupe changes the game completely then can he compete. Besides, it's music, ART, and subjective

@chringbing Well actually he based it upon Nas and that's where he built his foundation. But I must say even though 3K is one of the pioneers I'd only go as far as creatively because there are MANY before him who changed the way we interpret lyrics today. And just because someone pioneered something doesn't mean they can't be surpassed. I mean if you take the time ( a lot) to decipher Lupe like I do you'll be amazed. No one is doing it like Lupe. He's too unique for his own good. But I feel you.

@cisseusa123 Personally, I just think Lupe tries a little harder and it feels slightly forced. And of course people can and are surpassed, but I think every generation likes to believe they are witnessing the best ever...when they aren't or when "The Best" is a subjective criterion.
Sometimes we actually are seeing the best ever (Usain Bolt) and sometimes there are too many factors that go into 'the best' (Kobe/Lebron vs Jordan).
But we can all agree they're great.

Ugh....I saw someone post that 3 Stacks isn't a genius with his rapping. C'mon now, the way he uses metaphors, his wordplay, and yet he STILL tells a story is genius. And someone suggesting ATLiens as 3 stacks best work told ya wrong. Aquemini, and Stankonia are probably his best stuff to look at for his rapping. And I like Immortal Technique, Del the Funkee Homeosapien, etc. But the majority of those rappers have the same styles, and aren't as versatile...Just sayin...
