Pacquiao only fights well against flat-footed fighters who aren't great counter punchers. His last few fights have against flat-footed fighters fighters who aren't great counter punchers. That's why he dominates.
Pacquiao will have a great deal of trouble against Mayweather's fighting style. Trust me. Mayweather's defensive skills will allow him evade many of Pacquiao's punches, and he will counter punch.

@padis Manny does get hit, but a lot of people fail to distinguish that some of those hits that Pacquiao gets hits by he actually welcomes it. I don't know what Max Kellerman was watching, but Pacquiao was practically letting Margarito tee off on him several times throughout the fight as well as in the Clottey and Cotto fight. Pacquiao has literally stood in front of those fighters and they would hammer him especially with uppercuts. He wants to entertain people and he wants to test their power.
@padis Manny fights that way because he knows no one he's fought is fast enough to match his punch output. He takes them and puts on 4-5-6-7 punch combinations. He showed against Cotto in the early rounds that he can box well on the outside. If he's going to fight a serious defensive like floyd he might have trouble in the earlier rounds as he adjusts and switches gears. Later rounds he may force floyd to the center by waiting in the middle forcing him to come forwards like he did to cotto.

Pacquiao fought a great fight. He used very good footwork and fired off his combinations. What I really loved was when Pacquiao would brawl with Margarito when he did get trapped against the ropes. That shows that pacquiao is a boxer and he is also a warrior.
Yeah I thought Manny steps on the breaks if he feels his opponents somewhat diminishes...he feeds on his opponents' desire to beat him but if he feels his opponents run out of this desire, he switches his killer instinct off. Much like Anderson Silva who performs shitty when his opponents are not at par to his level. In Manny's case though, I think the better term is mercy, he shows mercy to his opponents.
@rerousey. Love your posts. Very insightful. I have been a boxing fan since the mid 70's. I've seen greats such as Ali (downside of his career) Leonard, Duran, Hagler, Hearns Pryor etc. But to me, Manny is a different animal. His style of fighting is never before seen. I would say that the closest to his style of fighting is Pryor. I've never seen Dempsey or Armstrong so I cannot make a comparison to them. Oh wait...Does Yoda count? Cause thats who Manny is......Yoda.

Pacquiao only fights well against flat-footed fighters who aren't great counter punchers. His last few fights have against flat-footed fighters fighters who aren't great counter punchers. That's why he dominates.
Pacquiao will have a great deal of trouble against Mayweather's fighting style. Trust me. Mayweather's defensive skills will allow him evade many of Pacquiao's punches, and he will counter punch.
Mayweather will out box Pacquiao and he will win the fight on points.

From what I've heard from Manny's camp, Manny actually had to overeat just to get to 144.6 at the weigh-in. Manny was only 140 at the morning of the weigh-in.

As much as I want to see the Mayweather fight, if it ever does happen, I hope the hype won't be the same kind of hype seen with the De La Hoya-Mayweather fight. Mayweather was talking a lot of trash saying that he would "ice that motherf'er" and whoop his ass, but look what happened there! I was extremely disappointed watching that fight. There would've been no fight had it not been for Oscar pressing the fight.

@padis Manny does get hit, but a lot of people fail to distinguish that some of those hits that Pacquiao gets hits by he actually welcomes it. I don't know what Max Kellerman was watching, but Pacquiao was practically letting Margarito tee off on him several times throughout the fight as well as in the Clottey and Cotto fight. Pacquiao has literally stood in front of those fighters and they would hammer him especially with uppercuts. He wants to entertain people and he wants to test their power.

@padis Manny fights that way because he knows no one he's fought is fast enough to match his punch output. He takes them and puts on 4-5-6-7 punch combinations. He showed against Cotto in the early rounds that he can box well on the outside. If he's going to fight a serious defensive like floyd he might have trouble in the earlier rounds as he adjusts and switches gears. Later rounds he may force floyd to the center by waiting in the middle forcing him to come forwards like he did to cotto.

Pacquiao fought a great fight. He used very good footwork and fired off his combinations. What I really loved was when Pacquiao would brawl with Margarito when he did get trapped against the ropes. That shows that pacquiao is a boxer and he is also a warrior.

Yeah I thought Manny steps on the breaks if he feels his opponents somewhat diminishes...he feeds on his opponents' desire to beat him but if he feels his opponents run out of this desire, he switches his killer instinct off. Much like Anderson Silva who performs shitty when his opponents are not at par to his level. In Manny's case though, I think the better term is mercy, he shows mercy to his opponents.

@rerousey. Love your posts. Very insightful. I have been a boxing fan since the mid 70's. I've seen greats such as Ali (downside of his career) Leonard, Duran, Hagler, Hearns Pryor etc. But to me, Manny is a different animal. His style of fighting is never before seen. I would say that the closest to his style of fighting is Pryor. I've never seen Dempsey or Armstrong so I cannot make a comparison to them. Oh wait...Does Yoda count? Cause thats who Manny is......Yoda.

Pacquio likes to play with fire and test his opponents. U can tell from the 2nd min of the first round, that fight was over. Margarito just didn't have any answer for the L hand. Commentators just say stupid shit....All fighters will never admit they will got hurt.
