i put herculiner on the interior of my 07 wrangler in november 2010. the only problem i had was the time it took for the first coat to dry completely. it was 12 hours before i could think about putting my front seats back in. it was another day and 1/2 before it lost its tackiness. i can tell that with only one coat, it is going to last a long time. it dried w/ a rough finish and high black gloss. i'll wait till spring to apply 2nd coat. so far i'm happy w/ my decision.
the carpet in my jeep smells like a sack full of assholes from getting wet. i heard of rhino-linering the interior. has anyone any experience with using herculiner on the interior of a wrangler?
@phillyfirefighter i have a friend with a 97 tj, it has the interior ripped out and its got herculiner on it. i have only been in it once, but it seemed to be pretty sweet, and i know of all kinds of serious offroaders that use it on the inside and out of their jeeps bodies. its seems to work pretty well
@welderman27 no problem man. they did a thing on the science channel where they bombed a truck with this stuff in its bed and the bed was like the only thing in tact. haha
It loses it's shine because it is rubberized and polymer based. So what you need to do is take your truck to a spray wash, put some coins down, and wax the shit. The wax will protect the UV absorbing black color. And for a longer lasting shine you can even use carnuba or UV proof it!
People are looking for an alternative to 600 bucks. And that's 60 bucks. Spray in bedliners are unmatched and uncontested. But Herculiner is one of the most reliable DIY's if you spray it in yourself 3-4 times. And cure it over 3 days.
For the best results, get floorstanding heaters and place them next to the herculiner after 30 minutes of the Herculiner bonding to the surface. This will heat cure the bedliner at a reasonably ,"hot," temperature without melting it and making it run. Thus, effectively curing it much better.
You need to prep in your garage properly. You cannot afford to half ass Herculiner as it will bond to ANYTHING, including yourself. Take your time and choose a weekend you can get the whole thing done without interruption. Herculiner needs to be mixed for at least an hour. It is vital that the surface be clean and free of debris. As anything on there, will be there for another 50-60 years....
I bought this stuff, not exactly knowing what i was getting myself into, number one thing is prep work, it gets messy so make sure you dont get it on your truck or hands, very difficult to remove.
I'm hearing stories that it fades over time?

@TreesOnTheBeach yea it does fade over time but it does work as a good bed liner, instead of spening 400 on a bed liner

Do not use rhino liner. They will not stand behind warranty at all.

might have to DIY - $650.00 is a little steep for me getting it installed at some dealership.

@maxleal0 Then you get the rust. Best option is to hurculine it, then put a drop in bedliner in so tools slide in and out easier.

What if someone, say a hunter, requests a bullet-proof bedliner?

I put herculiner in my bed-truck and work for me
The only bad think is that this product lose his shine look after 6 month so I apply a lite coat after the first year

This is totally crap. Spray on bedliners are the best for your money.
