  • Albert Lee on lead, Bob Lucier on steel guitar.

  • Albert Lee on lead, Bob Lucier on steel guitar

  • so underrated

  • Over twenty years since I've heard this one

  • They did love each other, huh

  • Love Roseanne and Rodney. Wish they would get back in the studio and cut another song or two for all us die hard country fans. This is one of my favorite songs and I play it at least twice a week. Great singers/Great songs they made back then.

  • Well there's a little pearl that not many people know about.

    Thanks for posting that!!

That's one of my top 5 all time chick country songs.

    She's great.

  • Drummer (Terry Clark) was in a booth to Albert's right. It's on the video for some of the other songs from this episode of "In Session" on Youtube.

  • the singer. the writer. the collaboration.

  • Great song.

  • Where's the drummer???

  • @Stumbler1able good point. must be on the drum machine. It was the eightees

  • I have read that when they divorced Johnny Cash was rumored to have said that he wished he could have kept Rodney and gotten rid of Roseanne.

  • Back in the early 80's there were lots of those hairstyles.

    Love me some Rodney Crowell.

  • I love Roseanne and Rodney... but this is not the most flattering hairstyle for Roseanne...she looks much better in the other vids I have seen...but who didn't do the short curly perm at least once, right?

  • Isn't that Albert Lee playing lead on the Telecaster?

  • I just love her!

  • Being a huge Stevie nicks fan...I agree....

  • The interaction reminds me of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham except this time she is the one trying to catch her eye!

  • @CherilynHarris I was thinking the exact same thing watching it.

  • wow!

  • She was so pissed at him at this time. But they made great music.

  • @greenwooby

why was she pissed at him?

They did seem a little mad....

  • @carlenecarter52 Once upon a time a long time ago Roseanne and Rodney were married. This song could be said to be about their marriage ending. I can't believe they performed it together!

  • @edscerbo Thanks I knew they were married...what was it 79-like 91 or something...I just didn't know they had problems in 83...I love Rosanne and John...Rodney is a good singer but when Rosanne and John Leventhal do a show they are funny and cute

  • @carlenecarter52 I think I have to take back my assumptions about that song and what might have been going on between them during this performance. The song was released in 1981 just 2 years after they got married. It's doubtful the song was written about any problems they were having at that time. It might have just been made up altogether and I read too much into it. I do that sometimes with songwriters. I guess it wasn't so surprising that they sang the song together after all.

  • @edscerbo well maybe not as Rosanne calls them " post cards from the future" like Interiors was before they got Divorced but it has been said and I would agree how much it is about them. I ewad in her book Composed about Interiors they seperated 18 months after she made it. And I have it ir's a great CD

  • @edscerbo They were the Fleetwood Mac Rumours version of Country Music! LOL! This ain't really Carlene is it? Girl if it is, You Are So Damn Cool!!!

  • This time is Emmylou at looking on.

    Beautiful performance by Rosanne.

    Thanks Laurie

  • Great song. Thanks.
