  • LOOK AT THOSE RETAIL PRICES!!! WHOA..

  • are those real guns or are they missing parts

  • Good overview, but I wish you would have show the Yankee Hill flip up rear sight. Do you have any opinions on it? Thanks -- TMFA

  • I have a Bushmaster XM-15E2S with removable rail. Will the Matech sight work on it?

  • I love the matech site...I think you need a better flashlight bud...

  • I have a colt LEO ar15 with stock fixed A2 front sight and I bought the magpul rear flipup and it doesnt have elevation adjustments and at 100 yards I was shooting the top of 1 5 foot tall taget when I was aiming at the bottom. Now Im running the Matech rear flip up and the only negative I see is the peep hole is a dish and kida shiny so light catches it and you cant see your target too well.

  • I'm I the only one that's not gonna pay over $100 for just a rear sight to shoot at paper and wood ? I'm not running around the streets of Iran and shit......lol.

I want to get one of those UTG rear sights for the price but I keep hearing bad things like they are hit or miss on quality. Any suggestions let me know, I dont want to spend more then $40 for a rear sight.

  • @zachporter2010 spikes tactical makes one for about 90 bucks there good brand the other is dpms

  • ahh if anyone knows a good carry handle that would go with a RRA flip up front sight for my ar-15 that doesnt cost over 100$ i would really appreciate it an less it costs the better lol

  • Right on! Thanks for the vid!

  • Dude, thank you so much for your insightful video!!! Although I have shot AR rifles in the past, since the 80"s I dare say, I finally was able to buy my first one last year!!! Your vid is so cool and helpful. Thanx again and BTY, I bought a Rock River Arms Operator last year and this NRA Life Member has been in shooting range heaven since!!! Thanx again!!! The Candyman

  • @ni4ni07

    glad it helped

  • Troy Rear Folding Battle Sight Black love it

  • my day is not complete without gunwebsites. I'm picking up a buis soon and im leading toward yankee hill or gg&g or MI. it seem to me they are the best bang for the buck. the magpul looks cool but i want to be able to run through a 100 yard wall of fire without it melting. and i need one that an acog will clear. any input would be great.

  • dude are they all ur weapons??? or are u in sum shop?? just wondering :)

  • How well would a Troy rear flip-up sight work with the MI gas block front sight considering Troy doesnt have a gas block front sight available yet? Thanks!

  • Dumb question...I just mounted a troy folding rear, and I have an A2 standard front, they will work together correct? Thanks.

  • @NoiseMostBeautiful

yup, should be a perfect match

  • smack the person in the back of the head if they keep fuckin with your windage

  • do you have that m6a1-s for sale still?

  • no foward assist on the jamomatic at 5:11

  • favorite has to be the a1 with a fixed carry handel. maybe i am paranoid but if it screws on i am worried when i need it it might screw off. plus for defenseive perposes you really dont need elevation on a rear. if its past 150 yards i wont shoot at it if its not shooting at me. just my .02. very informative video though.

  • Thanks for the info.... Just bought a troy...

  • how do you remove the sight from the carry handle?

  • Hi. Do you know much about Troy's fixed rear sight? I want to get one, but heard they only work on same-plane rails, and not with the front sight post. Would you know if this is true?

  • Im pretty happy with my MI sight on my LMT upper, however I think Im gonna go with a Troy soon.

  • hi, i just bought a stag orc ar-15, and a bushnell trophy red dot. and i want a back up iron sight, in your opinion wich do you recomend the troy industries, or magpul bus sights?

  • I like both, I know guys who run both, just a matter of how much you want to spend

  • I have seen fixed rear sight UTG version at amazon for $20 are they any good?

  • Sorry I am not familiar with them

A quality sight (front OR rear) will be over $100 so I doubt a $20 item will be near the quality

  • @sniper4usmc I got the UTC sight from Amazon (the one that doesn't fold own) It's a very sturdy sight for $20. Def. a nice option if you are on a budget...like me!

  • @sniper4usmc ALL UTG stuff was built cheap for airsoft. It may work but it wont work like the real thing.

  • @sniper4usmc UTG is usually a very sturdy and reliable product...i own a few products from them, and they have held up well on my AR..it all depends on how hard you are going to use them..

  • Thanks for the vid. A buddy gave me a Matech BUIS for my M4 and I wasn't sure how to pop it up (and didn't want to force it). Your vid had the info. I'm cool with the small peep as it allows precise long range shots on targets that my 4 minute Aimpoint dot would cover.

  • cool, glad it could help

  • i just ordered the Matech and is the small peep hole gonna make a difference or should I have gone with something that has two different sizes? I am using it as a BUIS.

  • IMO thats a personal thing, see what you think once you have it and have shot it a while..

can it be changed out if you don't like it?

  • I will just try to sell the Matech if I don't like it buy something with two different peeps. I don't believe the actual size of the peep can be changed so I would just have to buy a new one. What else would you recommend? I want something pretty durable and rugged.

  • people like Troy for sure

  • cool thanks brotha. i may have some more questions in the future so i will be in touch.

  • Great vid! Okay, so I'm new to the AR family. I just finished breaking in my DPMS 16" carbine, and now I'm ready to zero-in. The gun came with a target to assist in zeroing-in, but the instructions are for folks with A2 uppers.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask these questions, but what the hell:

    1) You said that the A1 peeps were about the same. So, does it matter which peep I use for zeroing-in at 25 yards?

    2) What is my "zero" setting on the rear-sight windage? Thanks a ton!

  • most people use the larger peep for 25 yards

The setting will depend on your rifle.. start closer if you aren't already on paper at 25

  • whats the difference between the small peep and the big peep?

  • small peep is for longer distance

Offers less room for movement of front sight and a tighter group at distance

Larger peep lets you see more of the area around the target helpful with moving targets and quick shots

  • I ended up going with an ARMS 40L flip rear sight. It folds very low and you can have an acog fit right over it when folded. The troy is the best in my opinion.

  • i hate it when you want one brand, but they don't make what works for your setup ..so you have to go with another brand..

  • If you want a pain buy a SIG 556. If you want to use a troy rear sight or arms 40L you have to change out the front sight with a samson arms one at $125 a pop. My sig was $1800 and came with a cheap red dot and crap flip up post rear sight.

  • can you do a video on all the front folding sights? that would rock. I'm looking at a Yankee Hill folding gas block sight, but i wanna know what else is out there.

  • Sure, we'll push it up higher on the list.. thanks for the request

  • those guns are expensive!!!

  • Really? it's good to get insider industry information on the internet like this for free.. perhaps you should hire yourself out as a bargain shopper

  • HA!! Nice...

  • those prices are pretty standard for ARs, prices have rised significantly since the current administration.

  • I used matech sights on A4 to supplement my RCO in my last line of work.I also have one on my XM15 and they are nice because if you have the range on your target you can just adjust from 200-600 meters quickly and easily. Its not importaint however but i wish it went from 100 -600 instead of 200.Bottomline excellent product that performs well.

  • wow yout guys totally did not show YHM sights but it is still a good video with good info on it..

  • the first sight we mention is the YHM w/ the Paul Howe sight, on the LWRC CSAT.

  • I've heard good reviews of that Paul Howe CSAT rear sight..do you have any complaints about it?

  • I shot it a few times at SHOT show this year and I was impressed.

I'd like to do some practice drills with it to see how it works though

  • If you had, say an Aimpoint, on a cantaliever mount with back up rear sights behind that..would the iron sights block out the view/sight picture through the electronic sight?

  • No the sight picture will still be fairly open

Usually the optic / iron sights are set up "middle" or "lower third"

So the iron sights can be set to be inline with the dot (or reticle) in the 'middle' of the optic, or the iron sights can be set up to ride in the 'lower third' of the optics field of view

Most people I know prefer to run the iron sights lower so they can see more through the optic

That height is usually a factor of the mount you use for your optic

  • I bought a front and rear Midwest industries sight for my flap top S&W M&P15. Is there a standard and easy way to zero these at 50 yards? Do I just mount the sights and take some shots and play with the windage knob? How would I adjust for elevation I wonder? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • We went over like 9 sights in this video.. which one?

  • how much this thing?
