@MrMichael1701 Except for the guys running turbo and supercharged Buick 3.8's, I have owned V8's and 4 cyl and 6 cyl's, 0-60 in about 6 seconds in my SSEi with just a partially gutted airbox, drop in K&N filter, 3" offroad down pipe with no cat, and O2 simulator, I still get 30 MPG, all the bells and whistles and yes this "V6"engine has "plenty of power" and takes out 5.0L mustangs and TPI firebirds and camaros with ease.

I'm sure if you mod a v6 or a four banger that it can ultimately have more power than a factory v8, same goes with any car. i would like to mod my LS1 but I'm really not too sure as to what to do. im working dropping a cammed 3.8 supercharged in my 97 olds sillhoute van (: it has the 3.4 in it right now with tranny issues): but that motor was beat the shit out of running it at 300 degres for 10 miles still held up very impressed

@350RSCamaro if i where u i would pull heads and lower intake off a 3500 v6 and the upper intake off a 2000+ 3400sfi and run it backwards so the throttle body was facing the front of the car and buy some ls6 valve springs and some good retainers and keepers and install a new timming set and throw it togeather and be chasing LT1 camaros down and eating jap crap for breakfest lunch and dinner
Actually the 3.4 found in some earlier Lumina LTZ's made more power than the 3.8 that came a year later in the same car. 215 hp for the 3.4 and 200 for the 3.8.

@PANT3RA 3.8 isn't just any V6, It's a Buick V6, and they are no joke. There's a 3800 firebird running 8's and making 810 WHP, Buick V6's have a huge aftermarket and shouldn't EVEN be compared to the 3.4, the 3.8 is in a class by itself
I beg to differ. We got a 3.4 Firebird free. Ran on no oil, off roaded, jumped it. It took over 2 gallons of water poured in her intake, on no oil, with a bunch of gravel poured in the motor and then holding it at redline to kill her. They can sure take a beating! Just look up Fireturd to see the action!
I never said it was unreliable. It's hard to kill those engines, just like the 2.8 and 3.1. It is just a lame powerplant for a camaro especially when GM introduced the 4th gen.

The ohv 3.4 wasn't ment for racing while the dohc 3.4 was a little experiment to get more power out of a v6. They are not similar though, same block size but they dont even look alike. Its like comparing a lt1 to a lt5

That's not my car. It belongs to a kid at school, we're trying to make him realize that the 3.4 sucks haha. You'd beat him too though, that van only had 150 HP.

wow wow wow there......hold the fuck on.....u wanna race my 3.4? u really wanna state that the 3.4's suck....the boy just cant drive the thing....im sry get a real driver behind that wheel and try it again.....and besides the 3.4's have alot of potential....mine just got a nice little make over....
Mine is a 95 3.4 camaro, and i can promise u there is no mini van out there (unless its a V8 power house dragster) can beat my 3.4!

For the record, I used to own a 3.8 Camaro and said it was slow and *destroyed* modded 3.4s. Even the 3.8 is underpowered by todays standards, look at my other vids for my 3.8 losing to a Saturn Vue! Fact is, the 3.4 is a WAY underpowered POS motor. Sorry, but theres plenty of minivans out there that would embarrass you.

As mentioned earlier, hause07's minivan would very likely beat you, considering he also has 270 HP. Sadly though I don't own a minivan, but don't worry about what I drive. I see you're from Ohio, where at in Ohio? I know that theres a Saturn Vue that would love to race you, and its 100% stock.

I didn't know a K&N air filter and some gay underglow were worth that much performance! Like I said, bring your "18 PSI Camaro" out here. I'd love to race you with my new Camaro with a 12,523RWHP Porsche turbo supercharged nitrous injected VR6. And 14 seconds he's only going 40? First off the race didn't start until 4 seconds in, and we were doing 80 at the end of the race. You were probably looking at the tach.

Yup race a nissan quest they pack the vq35 from the 350z ofcurse they are conservitive tuned but they would embares any 3.4 or 3.8
