seems more mechanical and jerky, as opposed to fluid. im no black belt though, but it was a good video. and it certainly showed me the basics movements of the pattern i was looking for.
Im sorry but i have seen a flaw in every movement and the most consistent ones are your back foot turn it in more someone could easily kick that out which my instructor used to do you learn quickly when you keep falling over! The second is your punch hight unless you are aiming at a midget it should be at eye hight. And last is small but is looked at a lot in competitions and that is your hand connecting with your belt shows a lot of control to place it there every time. Hope this helps!
I love all the hate for this pattern I think you guys need kickboxing where there is just anger and hate no offence kick boxers I do it myself for conditioning but we all started at level 1 some point and without these basic movements we would have been sloppy btw thank you for your videos very clear movements to follow
interesting set of comments -- I have just read through. I like the debate over is it a pattern - its not! Its an exercise - show me anything written by Gen Choi that says its a pattern. But it is done nicely for the sign wave followers. A little quick but technically sound.
jaju jirugi and maki isnt a pattern its just a set of movement its say that in the itf handbook chon ji is the first pattern and theres two saju jirugi the low block and middle block but good job any way for putting it up
Clearly the negative comments are from people with no integrity so if they have no integrity they are not knowledgable practitioners of Tae Kwon Do, otherwise they would know better. It may be that in other Federations it is a pattern but in the TAGB this is taught as 4 directional punching exercise for white belts and is used to learn basic movements for a beginner. It doesn't matter what it's called as long as it's done well.
@ggrum Good to see somebody who actually knows what they're talking about on here. BTW In New Zealand it is considered a fundamental pattern learned by white belts and required to grade up to yellow tip.
He like a professional... DANCER!... jajaja.. Have you really got the black belt? You must to learn it again and repeat it a lot of times! Don't Be Silly. You like a girl too. Your legs are a complete disaster. Good Bye Loser!
1. you aren't meant to lift your front foot up at all 'cos it's called a 'C-step' therefore referring to your feet sliding in a C motion and 2. this isn't even a pattern lmao it's a warm up for white belts
you r ment to lift up your foot but i will double check with my insturctor but the reason i say this is because im doing a pre grading for my 1st degree and i would have been told to not lift my foot but i might even be wrong.
nice one...where do you grade? i went to an academy in coventry to do mine a couple years ago and got an A...got my 2nd dan soon too :)...sorry if i sounded big headed lol
this guy is shite.

So wrong! ): His posture a bit gay yes. Not enough force. Doesn't seem continuous. Arms keep moving inwards then outwards
