We all assume that capitalism is the best economic system. How do we know there isn't a better system. Where is the next evolutionary step going for our society in terms is it's socio-economic system.

When you remove more and more people from the workforce your going to have some very big problems on your hand. You can't survive under capitalism without a job. Obviously capitalism isn't perfect, but it is still the best. In economics we refer to this 'imperfection' as market failure, I learnt that when I was 13. It's currently the U.S. goverment at fault as they fail to address market failure, the only way 'giant evil' corporations come about is due to the inabilty, or lack of want, of goverment to stamp out anti-competitive behavior.

"insane taxes" is an opinion suggesting their is no reason behind the taxes which is false as I have already said Norway always has one of the highest standard of livings in the world so it does appear that their systems have some benefits. Like anywhere of course some people will suffer and struggle but the statistics speak for themselves income inequality is FAR lower in Norway than the United States.
