this was opening night, and it was the 1 and ONLY night she didnt use a backing track for THIS SONG ...i can hear her straning to sing this and future lovers is a hard song to sing perfict night after nightt, im guessing she didnt like how it came out and thats why after this nite she used playback :( which makes me sad, coz i thought she sounded fine and it was raw and strong and all her!!! u can really hear Donna delory backing her in this in the i feel love part
@keithc42oo I do not think she used merely playback on the rest of the dates; I think it was unadulterated lip-synching after opening night. A little bit of added playback with the rest live would have done the trick. My hypothesis was that she changed it not as an afterthought, but in order to get better press reviews than she would have gotten lip-synching the opening number.
@rockonmadonna i guess i agree with that for the opening, but she did sing a lot of the show live, i saw it 4 times and she forgot the words on lots of songs , and her mic turned off during forbiden love one nite, but "Sorry" was synced as well i think....ive noticed witth madonna she picks a few songs in the show to lipsync and then does the other segments live...like the RIT the first 2 songs synced.....then die another day im not sure if it was her singing with autotune added or what....
@keithc42oo Yes, I did see a blooper clip from "Let It Will Be" in Miami, and I think we fans enjoy those genuine moments just as much! It does seem that picking a few songs to lip-sync is the way M operates on tour (i.e. "Future Lovers," and "Erotica" during Confessions Tour [I'm not totally sure about "Sorry," as it is seems mostly lip-synched, but not always 100%.]).
Drowned World Tour was a fantastic exception among her tours, in that she sang it live from start to finish, only using playback with her vocals during parts of "Ray of Light." I wasn't even born during the Virgin Tour, but I suspect that may have been fully live as well. The lip-syching really started with Blond Ambition (i.e. "Vogue").
