I think it's good that people with similar experiences can relate to and support one another and, of course, there's no reason to discriminate against LGBT individuals. No one should feel compelled to stay in the closet, I just think there's a point at which you can go overboard. (This venue looks like a money making opportunity for vendors more than anything.)

Who are you to be arrogant and prideful about something you had nothing to do with and no say in? It's pointless, it accomplishes nothing, it's a false pride, a phony pride..
Don't be proud of simply being who you are, be proud of what you do and what you accomplish on your own.
@Supralobe when you are attacked daily by Republican bigots and have to fight for your rights that you are denied for "simply being who you are" you have to take public pride in who you are in order to fight the attacks.
