I agree w/ the restoration. and that it makes one feel all misty. lol. I have waited to hear this for so many yrs now. I have watched almost all of his shows. and love the search for alantis best.
Originally, the Calypso was a minesweeper, HMS J-826, built in the USA and loaned to the Brits under Lend Lease in 1942. How ironic it is that the ship that help introduced millions to "deez peaceful creatures of the sea" was once a warship.
I never knew the Calypso had sunk. I wonder how the reconstruction is coming along as the video is from 2007. I am going to donate to this. Just dont use the ship as a tool for the greenie nutbars of the world.
I have a model of her in a lighted case, in my living room. Captain Cousteau was probably the main inspiration that got me into diving. My regs, BC, and masks - all U.S. Divers/Aqualung. It is as heartwarming to see the ship being restored as it was heartbreaking to learn she'd sunk, back in the late 1990's. Vive La Calypso!
I grieved when I found out what had happened to her. So glad she is finally being restored!
Is there an English version of this film?

This is a nice and very interesting documentary, but it has been sadly spoiled terribly by that overbearing dog-crap " music ".
