  • Great video, one of the best I have seen and takes you through th whole process. Thanks for sharing.

Before this I was confused how they actually removed the gallbladder through you skin, wasn't sure if it went up the tube or what? I had this done but required additional 2 inch incision to actually get my gallbladder out. Dying gallbladder and big stones.

  • very ingenious way of pulling the gallblader out of the abdominal cavity... though there is another method by sucking all the fluid inside the gallbladder and then just as a deflated balloon the gallbladder comes out very easily

  • This is why I'm doing Liver Flushes now, so I don't have to remove mine.

Typical doctor approach to any problem is removal, medication or amputation.. wow.

  • Everyone that says it was painful is either a pussy or had a crappy doctor. I had my surgery at 8 am.. and was home by 11am.. I didnt vomit, have a loose stomack or pain.. as a matter of fact i didnt even take any pain killers afterwards.. Everyone that is having the surgery... You have nothing to worry about... I was scared after reading all the comments on here but really... It's a joke.. within a week I was replacing the roof at my house... any questions hit me up.... Good Luck to all

  • i had this surgery done and it looks like they spilled bile in you as well. happend to me and it me made my recovery time long.. it was so painful for me.

  • the surgery looks like a mess

  • how do you prevent gall bladder from getting gall stones?

  • Avoid fatty foods. Aside from that, it's all up to genetics really. Not much else you can do.

  • Im getting my gallbladder removed on march 1st. And i will admit im pretty scared. :/

  • don't be i had it done the other week i was up walking around in under 24 hours lool

you don't even know you fall asleep! :P

  • wow this was kinda creepy but at the same time i couldn't take my eyes off of it why'd u get ur gall bladder removed neways

  • can be anything from fatty foodsto just to it being fucked

  • Nice video. Thanks for uploading.

  • dont wait! i waited a whole year until i even found out why i was sick and in pain... this was all because i didnt have insurance... AND STILL DONT! I had to break don because the pains were coming al the time. It came out 2/25/09 and i then had to have 6 ERCP's to follow because the pains didnt stop. I had to have my duct removed 11/13/09 and now I am free from it all... dont wait! no matter what you might just be a person who creates stones. Mines were the size of 3k diamonds

  • I don't have insurance and I DESPERATELY need mine out. How much did you end up paying for it?

  • Don't wait...it can be potentially deadly since it does involve your liver also.

  • Absolutely right! If a gb bursts, you could get peritonitis, permanent damage to liver and pancreas, and even gangrene. Not worth it! Get the darn thing removed. I went through horrific pain and nausea before I got mine out. Feeling 100% better now!

  • @Exclamation I do hope you had surgery. Being without insurance sucks... I know.. but your life could be in jeopardy.

  • I haven't gotten surgery yet. :c But hopefully soon. I just got an ultrasound yesterday though. Gotta wait until Monday for the results. But I'm pretty sure I saw a stone in there.

  • so that's how it is... i only see this in textbooks, i thought it was cut on the cystic duct

  • okay so I am 15 and I have to get mine removed...does it hurt afterwards

  • 15??!!!! Wow, you should look into your options. Many people have avoided gallbladder surgery. Do a search for gallbladder flush. Best of luck to you Twilight Girl.

  • @itsdonny

No one should do a gallbladder flush. I did it and I dehydrated so bad and blacked out right in the bathroom. i was home alone, thank God I had the phone near me. I called someone to come help me out. I later had it removed. Mine was a problem for me from the time I was 15 until I was 30. I just didn't know what was wrong with me. Doctors always seemed to misdiagnose me: food allergies & sensitivities, gas, indigestion, etc.

  • How was it that you dehydrated yourself? Before you do the flush you're supposed to fast for a while, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be drinking lots of water.

  • Apparently 8-10 glasses of water, juice or gatorade a day wasn't enough for me. I don't recall what the procedures were, but I followed them to a T. I thought it was working until I passed out.

  • I had mine done on 08/16/09. I was in the OR @ 7:30 AM and was out of the hospital by 11:00AM. They give you a bunch of pain killing stuff through the IV after the surgery that you don;t feel that bad. I'm feeling pretty good right now, except for the staples that itch and poke me all the time. I can't wait for monday to get them removed.

  • WOW!! i was 23 when i had mine removed and the doc said i was the youngest he'd ever done the surgery on!!! you should maybe try alternatives b4 surgery!! i HAD to get it removed because i let it go too far...just ignored it coz i didnt know what it was..until i started fainting. i was in hospital for nearly 3 weeks in total because of infection of gallbladder and pancreas.

  • oh my gosh your so young..... i undergo an open gallbladder surgey last month and im fine now try to research there's a lot of option to melt the stones

  • I'm glad I watched this afterwards as well

  • that looks so scary. im 17 and im getting my soon :S

  • I had mine out about 2 weeks ago. Glad i didn't watch this first. Amazing, but quite sloppy at the same time. I still have a bit of pain when i eat, but it's very soon after, so hopefully that will go!

  • Never fear, friend. The pain will go and you will have your life back! Best thing I ever did.

  • did u eat a liquid diet for a week or so?

    I think ur supposed to.

Was the pain when or just after u ate?

  • I have read that Gallstones are usually genetic and they can start forming at around the age of 15.

  • my doc sai they reckon the 3 "F's" apply to the most likely gall stone problems, that if:

    F= female

    F=fat

    F=forty or over.

2 times more likely in females than men, and when u r fat.

I must be unlucky as I am male, 34 and skinny! go figure!!!

  • i had my gall bladder removed that monday after easter. and im just 13 years old. i remember when i was going into the or i was scared!! but now im all bladder and free of pain =D

  • what was recovery like

  • My sister had hers removed about 15 years ago

and she still has attacks if she eats certain foods.

    I understand if it's diseased,leaking,or blocked up

then surgery is probably the best way to go.If not,

there's other natural remedies out there.

  • There can evidentally be pain afterwards as the bile duct kind of swells to form a sort of bladder, during this time it hurts.

Some can have permenant diorea, others need opening up if another organ is nicked/cut...yuk.

I have to have mine done, the main worry

is waking up during the operation and being paralised from the nerve paraliser.

It happened to my friend during a hand operation; no-one knows u r screaming inside, inable to move or even breath differently as it is done mechanically.

  • I've done about 6 Liver/Gall Bladder Flushes and

each time,it's relieved the occasional attack that

I get after eating spicy or greasing foods. If a

person is just starting out with Gall Bladder

Disease, flushes can help prevent surgery. If the

bladder is seriously diseased, then surgery is

    the way to go.I don't know if it's true,but I read

people of Native American/Mexican descent are the highest at risk for Gall Bladder Disease

so I really have to be careful.

  • yes I think I read that also, but its a diet/ culture thing I think?

Theres a recipie on google for a liver and gall bladder flush, cant recall the name now though.

epsom salts r good also, 30 minutes before breakfast.

Do u find urself constipated during an attack also?

I do but it may be because I cut out fats, they seem to lubricate the shit out?!

  • Waking up was my main worry too & I grilled the anesthesiologist b4 the operation and he assured me that he monitors the blood pressure and heart rate so they can tell if ur about to wake up...everything went well and I didn't wake up till AFTER!

  • It looks like "the doctor had a bad day and just make it all soup"!.. ?

  • I had my gall bladder remove, it's interest to watch your video so i know what happen to me during my own operation....thanks for posting

  • Thank you for sharing. Love the description...'after 43 years..it decided to become a free agent.' I have been describing is as my gallbladder hanging around having a party with nothing better to do in there...My surgery is tomorrow morning. So this is interesting to watch...I hate surprises.

  • did the operation go ok?

  • It was excellent. Other than the nausea after the surgery, but they gave me something for it. No complications.
