  • you are a breath of fresh air, thanks for your wonderful videos !

  • i could watch and listen to you for hours your great and seem so sweet.god bless

  • I have to get a colonoscopy at 35 my aunt had colon cancer at 44. She sadly passed away at 46( last october) :(.

  • @shortii12341 I am so sorry about your aunt. I know that has to be hard. Good for you for scheduling your colonoscopy. It is so easy. The worst of it is the prep but you will breeze thru it. It is so much better to be safe than sorry when it's too late. My husband is the worst. He will NOT go and that's crazy.

    Good Luck!

  • @lanaindiana My dad won't go. He claims he don't have to cause he doesn't have it in his genes. And he also says he's fine and he doesn't need one. I feel sorry for her kids cause they have to get one at 21!

  • Sorry to hear about your friend :( I lost my mother when she was 56 it was the worst day of my life we were very, very close (not to colon cancer though) anyway I just love your videos i have been totally addicted to watching them since i found you on you tube and you are hilarious I loved the story about your colonoscopy.... you really make me laugh and i love your uplifting attitude its refreshing :) You look fabulous and i wouldnt bat an eye to the haters out there. Have a wonderful day!

  • It's from a collection called "Twisted Heart" They have cute warm up suits much like Juicy but I like these even better and Thank You!

  • I adore your jacket! Where did you find this?

  • Hi Lana, I should talk to my mom about this, she's 57 and want her to check this out. On the other hand i want to say that you are awesome, you have my dream career as I always wanted to be a flight attendant since I can remember... I had to settle with Real Estate. Have a good day and thanks for sharing all that you do :)

  • I think you'd look amazing with a short asymmetrical bob (like v.beckham) as your hairs really light blonde and you have a FAB jawline and features.

I love the fact you take so much care of yourself even as a sun worshipper. Just remember to look after those pretty blue eyes as they're the most likely to get sun damaged by the UV rays.

*hugs* Cancer is horrible, 60% of my family have it (hereditory form). I just wanted to hug you when your eyes welled up. *love and prayers to u sugar*

  • My own dad waited till he was 58 to get a colonoscapy (prompted by stomach aches). Long story short, he started chemo a month later for colon cancer and died 4 years later when I was in college :/ I am going to start getting them at age 35 just to be safe. It's good that people like you mention it to all your viewers. Thank you :D

  • @TheSublimeAgent Oh Michael~ I'm so sorry about your dad. I imagine he was so proud of you. My husband is "older" and just refuses to do it. You go get it done early. We want you here for a VERY long time! It's not bad at all and the "twilight" sleep is so restful. ❤

  • Thnx Lana for talking about Colonoscopy. My friends mum ignored her symptoms for years, and was sick all the time but was too afraid to go to the doctor and too ashamed to talk about her health problems, finally she got so sick and was hospitalized..she died within 24 hours of getting a diagnosis for stage 4 Colon Cancer. So, you did the right thing by having a check up.

I loved this vid as well...you are so much fun..love your sense of humor :-))

  • @flightie777 oh my goodness. How sad. Colon cancer if caught early can be prevented. I hope all of your skies are blue. ❤

  • that was so easy! i'd love to see what you'd do with my hair! (below my butt, heavy, and silky) i can't do anything with it! u might just pull all my hair out!! haha

  • Congratulations for advising colonoscopy. It is a life-saver. You are right when you say the test is actually a breeze; you zone out a little and the nurses and doctors are always so kind. It's a must. You go grrrl !!

  • i think you look gorgeous with your long hair....why should we cut off the hair and have a boy cut only because getting older.....don't matter what your sister says =)

  • @estoniaforever I Agree! You know how big sisters are. she still looks at me like I'm 6 years old! xox

  • very ,very nice

  • Great PSA and well done! Now… about your hair… it’s glorious. Years ago, from a Dr Seuss reader, a little boy asked his Gramma why she cut her hair. She said she didn’t want to look like an old lady. He said… Now you look like an old man. HaHa! I chuckle all these years later when I look in the mirror at my elbow-length silver tresses. Keep on growing!

  • LMAO Re: girl from another country trying to wreck your hair ! TOO FUNNY

Also, the note you passed to your hubby cracked me up !

I LUV your videos, Lana !

  • @mizzmanatee LOL... The doc really did give him a note that said my head is not up there! I remind my husband of that DAILY!

  • Sorry for your loss, thanks for sharing so much of your life. I was wondering if you had ever tried Bare Minerals? BTW, keep on rocking the long hair, mine is short, but yours looks great long!

  • you're a real sweetheart

  • i am so HAPPY i found you!! i am 44 and i love youtube videos but having a 19 year old tell me about skin care/etc ?!?! i am so happy to find a woman of my age on youtube!!! btw- a couple of years back my best friend who was 36 years old died on colon cancer - so we all must take time to have a colonoscopy.

  • oh my! i really cannot stand when older women feel the need to cut their all their hair off once they reach a certain age. my mother in law is like that. i admire you lana! you are a beautiful grown woman. keep your hair long & blonde, its gorgeous.

  • Lana You are 5 STAR and your videos are 5 STAR !

  • I just came across your channel....wow I always think that when I hit 50 i will be like you, still wanting to look fabulous, i mean been 50- can really stop anyone from doing so, loved your channel =]

  • You are so pretty! You look amazing with long hair and the color is very nice. I'm off to buy some vitamins and see about a colonoscopy. Thanks.

  • LOLOL... So funny!

    wow! whats your secret?!

  • OK now Lana ... I HAVE to subscribe now...I find it so funny that you had the note given... "No head up Ass... >>>>>!! Sounds like something I would do! LOL LOL LOL LOL HA HA HA ...LOVE >IT

  • Karen~

My doctor laughed so hard at my request for a note saying my head was NOT up there!

    xoxoxox

  • Your too sweet , love your clips!

  • ur beatiful as a 50 year old u luk better than my mom even tho she's younger

  • Colonoscopy is very painful. The crazy thing is that here it is made without anestesia. Horrible how our medical system tries to save money!

  • you have pretty eyes : )

  • But you are correct it's good to get one..I also remember patient's leaving there in tears cause of the bad news they received..that was so sad..I am so glad the hospital I work at is finally getting a female doctor..she's gonna have a waiting list going out the door with so many female patient's..lol..

but I am glad everything turned out great for you Lana..so glad..did they say how long til they see you again?

  • 10 years! Yippeee!

  • wow ten years...HAPPY TO HEAR..

  • I work at a hospital and in the Endoscopy area and you should hear those nurse's telling their patient's to let loose the air or fart..those patient's can let one rip with a loudness and such a long one too...did u have to stay on your left side to do this? they also won't discharge you until you let that air out of your system..some sit in there in such agony and pain cause they can't pass the air...walking around, giving them soda and then finally the let it out and such a relief.

  • oh yeah I remember Casy Kasem's wife..she's very tall and has that high pitch baby talk voice..lol..I remember her on Cheers one time..

  • you look so beautiful.. i didn't even thaught that you are in 50.. wow.. you look younger than that.. i am from ethiopia.. and i just never seen well mannered women.. and i didn't know that you were adopted.. i had in my mind that you are from wealthy family.. but you have this beautiful personality.. i love you.. girl.. you look good .. i am being so honest..HONEST TO God..

  • Aww... I love You too! Thank you for your kind sweet words.

    Love and Hugs~~

  • You just like my late grandmother, she was always telling me to never forget to get yearly check ups and get all the procedures done when they need to be, thats one of my earliest memories ever XP her telling me to get a mammogram when I was older.. ='( I miss her.. ANYWAY. THANKYOU for saying something reminding people to get it done! preventative procedures are a MUST HAVE.

  • LANA, PLEASE ADD "SELENIUM " a trace mineral ,bought at any W-MART, HEALTH FOOD ect-I learned many years ago that it literaly preserves, it fights those bad cell's and girl your hair ,skin, and nails will as well stay youthful, I learned this from a 91 year old client, who's son is a pharmacist here in TX- She looked fab at her age. I have taken 2 at bedtime for almost 20 years and along with the other vits you mention I live in Trust ,HOPE,and,FAITH IN GOD - LOL BUT GET SELINIUM.

    L,Greg

  • I Will!

  • I just want to say how REFRESHING it is that you embrace your age! Your honest and you don't lie about it! I think you look absolutely GORGEOUS!! and aspire to look like this when I'm your age!

  • Oh Girl... I used to lie like a fiend about my age then realized how stupid it sounded so now I embrace my 53 years. My grandkids don't care how old I am nor do they care about my wrinkles and laugh lines so WHY should I?

    XO

  • Sorry about your friend =/

Did it hurt to get a colonoscopy?

  • Not at all!

The peace of mind is so worth the bother of it!

I say go DO IT! It can save your life!

I want you here for a LONG time!

  • I just can't get over what a sweetheart you are! Not only do I enjoy watching your work, but I actually love listening to you talk and tell your stories. =)

  • I pray this screening will be fine and all will be well. Sometimes i think you in the medical profession know TOO much and that makes it worse for you. My brother is a doctor and his entire internship, he feared all of his loved ones had whatever disease, ailment etc that he saw. I really believe you will be fine. Let me know how it goes, OK?

PS. The good thing.... You caught it all early.

    XOXO

  • Right! Thats it! Im Subscribing to you! I watched your video in a theraputic haze of of bliss. Thank you X

  • LOL... This sweet comment made me laugh. I walk around in a haze of bliss most days.

My Husband calls it "Lana World"

    Thank you for Watching~~~

  • You are absalutly stunningly georgous!!! I wish i look half as good as you when i hit 50 - i'm 28 and you look better then me now ha ha! your an inspiration.

  • I LOVE You~~~ Very Sweet of you to say that!

    xoxoxo

  • Oh, and btw long hair suits you. Hot! Wait a minute, did you say that you don't drink? Nadda?

  • Again, another great video!! When I heard you tell your hair nightmare I had flashbacks!! No kidding. Went in for a trim with your length hair and came out with it almost up to my ears!! And my husband says "what is going on with the back of your hair?" It was a mullet back there!!!! Talk about being traumatized. Unfortunately, that is one of my "better" hair horror experiences. The men seem to do the best job. Girls are evil!! hahaaha j/k

  • I am also 52, and I feel we can do whatever we want with our hair now. We have made it this far, and we don't have to listen to silly "rules for older ladies" if we feel good about how we look. I love your look!. What is funny to me is if we make it to 72 or 82, we will look back, and so wish we looked this young again! :) You look fabulous and beautiful for 52! I loved your story about the doctor and the note! I have had my colonoscopy, too. You are right, the prep. is the worst part.

  • Smart Girl for not cutting your hair!

Don't you feel better for having the colonoscopy all done and all is good now? I sure do!

    XOXO

  • Hi Lana,

I love watching your videos and thank you for the great advice for us gals over 50. You have such a great personality as if you're talking with girlfriends. I'm subscribing to your channel and look forward to more fun videos about makeup and taking care of ourselves. Keep it up!

  • Thank You! sorry it has taken me so long to write back!

    LOVE You~~~

  • no.colonoscopy does NOT hurt. don't put it off if you have insurance, it is paid for if you are over 50. and the rest of her story about the terrible hairdresser attacking mature women's long blonde hair is MY STORY too.lol. two hairdressers at separate times went nuts thinning mine and its taking a long time to grow back right and i saw the same Kasem interview years ago too. take lots of vitamins although a choline and inositol is great for hair.. don't over do vitamin A though. read on that.

  • It doesn't hurt a bit...

It WILL save your life tho!

    XOXO

  • Hi Lana, I just watched this video and your air brush legs video. I am 42, was thinking of cutting my longish (past shoulders) hair.. nope not now! I am going to start adding Vit A &D to my daily vitamins! Love your hair, your attitude and legs!!! No haircuts and I'm leaving for the gym now!!! Talk about inspiration.. you go!! (My husband is ten years older... I'm going to make him an appt! Thanks.. I want to keep him around )

  • Noooo, don't cut your hair! Good job getting your husband to get a colonoscopy. It could save his life!

It's a piece of cake, really.

    XOXO

  • oh my god you do not look 53!!

  • Thank You~~~Hug

  • you are a really beautiful woman.<3

  • Thank You~~~<3

  • Kasey Kassum, reminds me of long trips down to my grandmothers' house in South Bend, we listened to 96.3 every Sunday when we'd drive there. Great memories, and thanks for the awesome vidoes and tips:)

  • Gawd, just hearing Casey Kassum's name takes you back, doesn't it? LOVED his America's Top 40. I guess now we have Ryan Seacreast and that's OK too.

    XOXO

  • lol @ the "qet your head out your ass"joke

  • LOL... I still have that paper to PROVE it's NOT up there!

    xoxox

  • Thanks for sharing all your wonderful tips and posting these videos, Your such a nice person!

  • Thank You.... *hug*

  • I use hot rollers all the time because I have tons of hair and it is the fastest easiest way to do my hair BUT, it takes 15 large rollers to get all my hair....LOL. Velcro doesn't work on me *sniff*

  • you do NOT look 53! wow... :)

  • oh... your accent reminds me of my bff... you said I just do the ruts... love it... it's that indiana mid- western accent... love it!!! Your hair is beautiful...

  • Ha! My husband makes fun of my mid-western accent.

I am just Lana Banana from Indiana

    XOXO~~~<3

  • Your hair is very pretty and I love your eyes they're so pretty and blue I wish my eyes were blue (they're emerald green)

  • Thank You ! and Ooooo, I have always wanted emerald eyes! Gorgeous!

    XOXOX

  • YOUR HAIR looks so pretty down.

  • Thank You Skye! YOU have gorgeous hair! I used to have my hair just like yours in my teens. You remind me alot of me when I was younger.

    Love Ya~~~<3

  • OMGosh I am so happy I found your page. You are just the greatest...beautiful inside and out!

  • Thank You Sweetie! XOXOX

  • *_* omg, I know what you mean about hair "stylists" , more like torturers because they never do what you ask. I think sometimes certain ones have it in for us, seriously. I had one gay hairdresser who I trusted with my life because I knew he was trying to make me beautiful, not destroy me. I'll never go to a woman as long as I live.

  • So smart! They get you in that chair and start talking to you and the next thing you know, they twirl that chair around and it's.... YIKES!!!!! I seriously haven't gone for more than a trim in 5 years!!!

PS. I LOVE your YouTube name! XOXOX

  • I think you look beautiful with long hair! It makes you stand out! We need to get away from all these "rules" people have set for us as women!

  • I Agree! Let's all just throw away those nasty rules! I am a Rule_Braker!!!

Do what makes you happy. I will cut my hair when I am in a nursing home and then I may hae to think about it!

    Love You ~~~<3 XOXOXOX

  • I love that you keep your hair long, It's beautiful!

  • Thank You! XOXOX

  • Lana, I'm so glad your informing people about getting a colonoscopy. I tell everyone I know over 40 to have it done. My dear sister passed away last year from colon cancer. She didn't know she had it (she thought it stomach problems and the Lupus she had suffered with for over 20 years). My sister suffered from so much pain the last 5 weeks of her life. My mother, son and I miss her so much.....she was only 53 years old.

  • I am SO so sorry about your sister! That would just devastate me to lose my sweet sister. My heart breaks for you.

I tell EVERYONE I know to get it done. It's a piece of cake and sooo important!!!

God Bless your family. Love and Good Wishes to you, my friend xoxoxox

  • I think their deffintion of "trim" is: I only know how to do short hair!

I haven't been to a salon for 10 years and won't ever go back!!! I haven't cut my hair either:)

    Thank you for being so frank and honest Lana=~}

    Toodle-oo!

    BOP

  • Boy, don't you know it! They sit you down in that chair and turn you so you can't see and then BOOM... Your hair is gone!

    Love Ya ~~~<3

  • Dont you dare cut your hair....u look beautiful and i love your hair so please dot change your hair

  • i love how you always go. hello. wlecome back to my bathroom.

haha it makes my day everytime i watch youu!

    HUGS <3

  • Hi Again Joanna! I know.. I guess letting all the World see my potty is prob not a great idea!!! xoxoxoxoxo

  • Lana

Wonderful video. I am so sorry about your friend. My aunt and uncle both died of colon cancer. Thank you for getting the message out there. Early detection is crucial. I am 57 and getting ready to schedule my second colonoscopy. You are gorgeous and fabulous.

  • You are brilliant to get another colonoscopy! It's not that bad and it can save your life! Good luck with the results. Let me know how you come out....

    Love Ya <333

  • You don't even look 53, you look longer. Plus, I think long hair is for any age. It's your hair, you look beautiful, and you're healthy. Do what makes you feel great and what you feel works for you.

  • Sorry, English not my first lang...and I forget to check my spelling...I meant *younger* not longer, lol...

  • Thank You, Cecillbill. Hugs, ~~~Lana

  • omggggg! you're gorgeous!

  • Thank You!!! Hugs xoxox <3~~~Lana

  • you're welcome! :D girl you gotta help mee! i just watched your work out video thing, and I really want to lose weight but I need more motivation! unfortunately i don't know where to get that cd, but i'm going to go to the gym now 6 times a week =) <3

  • Hi!!! Good for you going to the gym 6 days a week!!! Try beachbody com and look for POWER 90. It's got 2 DVD's 1st part is for beginners and after 30 days switch to part 2 and it will kick your Butt!!!

  • Cute Style!!

Long hair looks beautiful on you!!

I do my own haircolor as well...the girls used to bleach it out tooo much and I always looked washed out!!! Sometimes YOU have to do it yourself......

  • I so agree. Sometimes those stylists get you in that chair and they lose all ability to think about what YOU want. I hope you have the BEST Valentine's Day~~~<3

  • Long hair is wonderful on us women over 50. I have people tell me all the time to cut it. Don´t let anyone tell you to cut your hair off if you like it long. I love it.

  • I want to be one of those stylish older ladies in my 80's with long hair all wrapped up on my head. I'm not going to cut it off until I want to... maybe NEVER.

    Thank You for Watching!

    Love Ya~~~Lana xxoxoxox

  • NOOOO your NOT TOO OLD FOR long hair.. I cannot seeing the typical SHORT hair , when women hit 45 htey think they need to desex themselves with SHORT hair.. KUDOS to you.. you are simply AMAZING.. I wanna be like you when I GROW UP !!

    hahah

    kishes

  • Tell my sister that!

Kisses and a HUGE Hug to YOU, my Friend!~~~Lana

  • Your great...so fun to watch.

One question for you, I am a natural blond (with grayish browish at the foots) will the highlighting cover the gray or will it just make it white?

  • Hi There! Oh, geez.. I don't know. Try calling them with your questions.

1-800-CLAIROL. They are so helpful and should answer all your questions. I hope that helps. Thanks for Watching~~~Lana

  • The hair color? I use Clairol Hairpaint which is just a 2 product bleach, I think. I have used the same product for over 25 years. It's very gentle and I only do the roots, never the ends. I leave it on for 15 minutes, then shampoo.

  • hi lana, love your videos. Good to see a good looking woman of my age who cares and shares! what is de loreal color?

Love your hair. You are the best.

  • Oh, bless your heart. Your husband is a true hero to me. Give him my best. He is doing a great job.

If you ever see me on a flight, be sure to let me know. I love to have fun and think I am funny.... my husband doesn't "get" me tho... I waste alot of good material on him. Ha! He is anal... I swear that's why he married me... spell my name backwards... anal.

  • oh my gosh, you are too funny! my husband is in iraq so most days i look forward to watching your videos just to have a good laugh and relax for a bit from the everyday stresses of life. i fly a lot and i wish so badly i could be on a flight that you were on b/c i know i would laugh the whole way!
