  • oww!! com'on why in this country we can't watch this part 2, in fact this documentary film is for the Filipinos.....

  • I saw the first episode but the audio has been disabled. I am living in the Philippines. Maybe the government blocked it.

  • this did show for the Cinemanila film festival maybe 2 years ago.

  • hin na no

  • Ang ganda nito sa totoo lang, perhaps we can air this here in the Philippines. there are so many with similar stories... it would be a nice thing perhaps around veterans day?

thanks for telling this story so well...

  • i miss u!!! msg me on msn. my id is on my profile! thanks! bye xoxo c

  • nice documnetary.. planning to join the us navy too :D

  • my familt has a similar story. now im joining the navy too. I cant wait to get to bootcamp.

  • Well, I am glad they are US citizens now, if they pursued it. I have been retired from US Navy since 1997 and still tnt here in the US.

  • You can't join a Military here in the USA if you're a TNT.... Because you nid to be a citizen bro.... You kidding me!!!

  • grove005. I enlisted in the US Navy in 1987 not here in the US, but back in the Philippines under RP-US military bases agreement. That treaty was abrogated in 1992 and since then no more pinoys are recruited in the Philippines in the former Subic naval base. And after Chapter 61 retirement in 1997 decided to stay here in the US and up until now I dont have a green card. I agree with you. I dont know how illegal aliens here in the US were able to enlist in the military.

  • oh ok!!! tnx..... PINOY!!!

  • Cool. I am Filipino and joining the Navy. It was my Uncle's dream in the Philippines before but he we was crippled and never could do it.

  • Well done! I didn't even know what a Filipino looked

like until I got to boot camp (1968) and almost half

our company were Filipinos. Then my first duty station

was Naval Communications Station Phiippines. I ended

up marrying a Filipino so have a lot of connections

to the Filipino community. Great job telling your

family stories here and best of luck to you all.

  • im shipping out for bootcamp next week... i wish im taking the same first step he made of having a good life

  • Enjoyed the video very much. I joined the Navy in 1976 in Subic Bay and retired in 1997. Your Dad were the pioneers who were restricted to Steward rating. I was allowed to join the Seabees but after staying another 6 months in Boot Camp to push recruits. I have high respect for your Dad and to you as a second generation Pilipino who care about being Americans and also being Pinoys. I try to teach the same values to my 3 kids. Thank you again.

  • Very nice, touching, heartwarming, LOVELY INDEED!

  • Great Story! As a former Sergeant of Marines and current President of Trinity University's FSA (Filipino Student Association, in San Antonio, Tx.) I give my appreciation to our parents generation. They were the ones who made the sacrifice and allowed us to have this great life. Great documentary. I'll be posting mine soon as well. Take care.
