Help! what do the words "konu ka" and "sozoro" mean? Im trying to learn Nihongo. Can anybody tell me...

"konuka ame". "ko" means "fine". "nuka" means "rice bran", but a general meaning is "flour".

So "konuka ame" is a quiet fine rain like flour, misty rain or light drizzle.

"sozoro" means rambling, distracted, somehow.

"ki mo sozoro" ..."ki" = "mind". "mo" is a particle puts emphasis "ki". "sozoro" means distracted.

"sozoro ni naku" ..."sozoro" means somehow. "ni" is a particle. "naku" means tearing.

"sozoro aruki" ..."aruki" means walking. So "sozoro aruki" means rambling or stroll.

sasazu is negative form of sasu. The basic mean of "sasu" is "extend the arm". It has two actual usages.

1.[yubi sasu] yubi is one's index finger. "yubi sasu" means extend your arm (it's ok, don't extend your arm), and point at the object.

2.[kasa wo sasu. kasa is an umbrella. wo is cace particle, the preceding word is object of the following verb. In this case, "sasu" is a movement "put up an umbrella" (also means "open an umbrella").

I think, in ancient days, umbrella is valuable. So an attendant extend her arm and put up an umbrella for Her Majesty. Another possibility, the index finger is located upward when someone puts it up.

To tell you the truth I don't remember. She only had a bit part playing the head mistress for the daughter of a Samurai warlord. It was a three day series. I'll see if I can find out the title for you. Other then that, as far as I know, she hasn't appeared in any other programs. Japanese TV during the new year usually have special appearances by actors/singers, etc from long ago so maybe she'll appear again, will keep you posted.
