Richard Lloyd is immensely underrated. The solo in this song is great (from Tom) but I must say the riffs throughout the song really make it beautiful.
@Taktwo2 - definitely. Their songs are built around Lloyd's riffs and hooks. Neither Verlaine or Lloyd are as good, separately. Too bad the interpersonal chemistry wasn't better - we would have enjoyed a much richer output from a truly great band.
wow u did a great job at this, its a beautiful song. fuck the tribute band idea u could make ur own great new sound, and if ya ever need a drummer, call on me!
Well done. Great near approximation to Verlaine's guitar sound. You should start a Television tribute band if you can find replicants for the remainder of the band and I take it you can sing like Verelaine.
tribute bands are pointless. if a song really means something to you playing a cover now and then is great, but you can't go around replicating others
Are you playing the Arpeggio part of the Intro (which also comes before the 2nd verse, just before the solo, and in the Outro) - the at the 13th and 12th frets, or are yo doing it - as I have seen some people do - at the 10th and 9th frets.
RL almost always seems to do it at the 13th and 12th.... Just curious.
You've figured out all of Richard Lloyd's part - nice. (Only the *brief* solo is Verlaine on this cut.) You're right about Adventure - my band does Glory and Carried Away.
impressive
