  • The clave is bad!

  • Hey, Gerardo Avila, why so shy? Don't be shy about posting your name and where you're from. You did an outstanding job. Where was this recorded? Please list the other musicians.

  • The drummer is playing the clave with his foot, usually is the left foot.

  • Who plays the Clave?

  • bravo !

  • Muy buen oído, felicitaciones

  • wow!!!!! es fabuloso, me encanto!

  • Thanks for this. Wonderful performance and a fitting tribute, very tight and highly rehearsed. it would be nice to know more about this. Who are the musicians? Where was it recorded? What is the digital piano being used?

  • amazing, jus one thing, the clave is 2-3. cheers from Mexico

  • WOW! that's a really awesome version of the song. i really liked it!

By the way, I made a special cover to this awesome song! I play all of the instruments there by myself ^^

You are invited to check it out on my channel if you want! :D

  • Which book are the sheets from, and if you produced them yourself, would you mind posting them?

  • Buenisimo los felicito de verdad...! ;)

  • tight!!!

  • Congratulations for the "Camilo"'s feeling! Very nice playing...can you tell me please what's the model of keyboard are you playing? There's an expander connected to it? The piano have a very nice sound!!!

    Cheers

  • Wow, are you claiming that this is you and your band, and not Michel Camilo and his band? 'cuase if so, this is freakin' amazing! I was quite sure that was Michel Camilo when I first saw it, about a year ago. and also the drummer - Dazzling!~

    Anyways, way to go people!

  • Really great version ! Very nice cats ! It's a pity the intro was sucks by chops on drum !

  • Calidad, Técnica, Gusto, Armonía.

    Michel Camilo un grande.

  • Excellent! You are AWSOME!

  • that drummer is a built in percussion section

  • WHO CARES WHO THEY ARE ALL I KNOW IS THEY ARE JUST ONE SET OF VERY GREAT BAD ASS MUSICIANS FANTASTIC.

  • drummer is a fkn animal!

  • chick corea's name is spelled like the country in the opening. sorry if someone's mentioned this in some previous comment

  • omg the drummer is amazing.,... I am a drummer as well...please please tell me what he is using for the constant cowbell or woodblock sound. Does he have a cowbell that he is kicking and if so what kind of set up. a double kick with two cowbells with a double bass pedal. I'm soo intrigued please let me know.

  • @fedoristhechamp123 hey im drummer as well , what he is using is a bass pedal, to it attached, is a cowbell, this cowbell pedal , vary alot in form an shape, but the pattern he constantly uses is the cuban clave, 12 - 123 or 123- 12, to do this you have to develop four way independence to a very high level, i recomment you dont try this right away if you are starting out, if you do you will cry an throw your sticks against the wall and poke you in the eye. jk, but yes this is like very advance

  • the steady woodblock is coming from Camilo"s Yamaha, Professor Percusion

  • We Need More Cow Bell.

  • What a player!

  • This sounds very hard! The drums, the patterns and the tempo-changes are all rediculous. I love it.

  • Can't touch this?

  • Anyone figured the chord progression for the solo parts between the 2 themes?

  • piano sheet PLEASE ?

  • I'm grooving right now

Estoy estudiando piano espero algun dia tocar asi. Suerte !

  • yeah

  • que grupo tan bueno, quienes son-----0????????digan . wow, excelent group, who are they?

  • love those drums

  • Increible. Saludos

  • shit

  • this is shit compared to the album version. Maybe because Horacio Hernandez recorded it lolol

  • Can you play it???

  • thats not michel camilo. but thats the same exact version and solo lol

  • I don't like this video much because musicians do not play with its personality .... However they play well.

  • can you play it???

  • yeah watch in video response ;)

  • I saw your "performance" my friend, I just hear the armandos rumbas theme I never saw you play it, how ever it dosent sounds like latin, sounds like rag time I think that you have to learn much & try not to be so arrogant, because you play like a rookie.

  • That was an AWESOME performance! I've been trying to play this on drums for months!

  • i am playing this version for my recital May 9, 2009. Is there any way you could send me your arrangement of this piece? That would be amazing! AND VERY HELPFUL FOR PRACTICE! I am arranging his solo piece Suntan, and that's difficult as it is. Thanks!

  • Could you tell me please if this is actually Michel Camilo playing or just someone who looks similar? Either way, the band is hot, that's for sure! Many thanks for uploading so many good vidoes!

  • No, I am not Michel Camilo. Michel Camilo is an extraordinary latin pianist that I admire and honor with this replication of his music. Every note I play, and the hole arrangement is property of him, not mine. Thanks for your comment.

  • Yeah Man!!! You guy's are great!!!!

Exceptional Piano Player!! You have the "fire" of Michel Camillo!!!!

  • @soruyoavila The original version of this song is played by Chick Corea :) He has wrote this piece for his father.

    Btw it's fantatastic :) Congrats!

Alexander Cortes.

  • Good lord...Chick Corea is spelled wrong at the beginning.

    Amazing performance, btw :p

  • This is the most whacked out version of this song I've ever heard. Has anybody ever seen Michael's Caribe? That tune is amazing.......

  • Real jazz musicians don't do a tribute to great musicians like Camilo by playing the exact same solo!! You can pay tribute by playing some of his own music or his versions of standards but NOT PLAY HIS OWN EXACT SOLO! That never happens in jazz man! You should nlow that!

  • That's because you can't play it, to be a jazz player don't means to make an improvisation for everything (thats the scuce of the loosers), this shows that this guys can play an transcript music very well & if they can do that, you can imagine what can they do, an also are no slakers that beleve that are jazz musicians I bet that you can't play it.

  • sure i can play it! I have played concerts with Anthony Jackson, the bassist that plays with Michel Camilo and I teach Jazz at a University loser! You can't even speak English and you come here to judge me? Ask any famous jazz player and they will tell you the same thing I said! Yes,it's not easy to play Camilo's solo but copying a complete solo,is not something professional jazz players do! And if they do it, they do it to learn from it. They don't do whole concerts playing someone else's solos!

  • Well I'm sorry Mr. Great Musician, I'm sorry for my english unless I try to speak other idioms, I'm not judging anybody, that only can be in the mind of an egocentric, arrogant & narcissist person. To play with great jazz masters don't means that you are one. I hope you upload some of your work or can you recommend me some of your discography to take away this bad impression. My apologies for my personal point of view. Wishing you all the success in the world. A Retired Juilliard Musician

Un abrazo a to 2 !
