Hey, Gerardo Avila, why so shy? Don't be shy about posting your name and where you're from. You did an outstanding job. Where was this recorded? Please list the other musicians.
Thanks for this. Wonderful performance and a fitting tribute, very tight and highly rehearsed. it would be nice to know more about this. Who are the musicians? Where was it recorded? What is the digital piano being used?
Congratulations for the "Camilo"'s feeling! Very nice playing...can you tell me please what's the model of keyboard are you playing? There's an expander connected to it? The piano have a very nice sound!!!
Wow, are you claiming that this is you and your band, and not Michel Camilo and his band? 'cuase if so, this is freakin' amazing! I was quite sure that was Michel Camilo when I first saw it, about a year ago. and also the drummer - Dazzling!~
omg the drummer is amazing.,... I am a drummer as well...please please tell me what he is using for the constant cowbell or woodblock sound. Does he have a cowbell that he is kicking and if so what kind of set up. a double kick with two cowbells with a double bass pedal. I'm soo intrigued please let me know.
@fedoristhechamp123 hey im drummer as well , what he is using is a bass pedal, to it attached, is a cowbell, this cowbell pedal , vary alot in form an shape, but the pattern he constantly uses is the cuban clave, 12 - 123 or 123- 12, to do this you have to develop four way independence to a very high level, i recomment you dont try this right away if you are starting out, if you do you will cry an throw your sticks against the wall and poke you in the eye. jk, but yes this is like very advance
Maravilloso, los tres muy buenos, mis respestos sobre todo por lo díficultad de las canciones de Michel Camilo y tocarlas parecidas, muy buen audio del video. Muy bien espero que sigan asi, son mexicanos?
Estoy estudiando piano espero algun dia tocar asi. Suerte !
I saw your "performance" my friend, I just hear the armandos rumbas theme I never saw you play it, how ever it dosent sounds like latin, sounds like rag time I think that you have to learn much & try not to be so arrogant, because you play like a rookie.
i am playing this version for my recital May 9, 2009. Is there any way you could send me your arrangement of this piece? That would be amazing! AND VERY HELPFUL FOR PRACTICE! I am arranging his solo piece Suntan, and that's difficult as it is. Thanks!
Could you tell me please if this is actually Michel Camilo playing or just someone who looks similar? Either way, the band is hot, that's for sure! Many thanks for uploading so many good vidoes!
No, I am not Michel Camilo. Michel Camilo is an extraordinary latin pianist that I admire and honor with this replication of his music. Every note I play, and the hole arrangement is property of him, not mine. Thanks for your comment.
Muy chevere, impecable la interpretación y muy bien hecha la transcripción, suena tal cual!, los invito a ver mi versión de otro tema del thru my eyes. Alexander Cortes.
Real jazz musicians don't do a tribute to great musicians like Camilo by playing the exact same solo!! You can pay tribute by playing some of his own music or his versions of standards but NOT PLAY HIS OWN EXACT SOLO! That never happens in jazz man! You should nlow that!
That's because you can't play it, to be a jazz player don't means to make an improvisation for everything (thats the scuce of the loosers), this shows that this guys can play an transcript music very well & if they can do that, you can imagine what can they do, an also are no slakers that beleve that are jazz musicians I bet that you can't play it.
sure i can play it! I have played concerts with Anthony Jackson, the bassist that plays with Michel Camilo and I teach Jazz at a University loser! You can't even speak English and you come here to judge me? Ask any famous jazz player and they will tell you the same thing I said! Yes,it's not easy to play Camilo's solo but copying a complete solo,is not something professional jazz players do! And if they do it, they do it to learn from it. They don't do whole concerts playing someone else's solos!
Well I'm sorry Mr. Great Musician, I'm sorry for my english unless I try to speak other idioms, I'm not judging anybody, that only can be in the mind of an egocentric, arrogant & narcissist person. To play with great jazz masters don't means that you are one. I hope you upload some of your work or can you recommend me some of your discography to take away this bad impression. My apologies for my personal point of view. Wishing you all the success in the world. A Retired Juilliard Musician
Que buena grabacion eh? sonidazo ! un afectuoso saludo a todos en especial a la actuacion de mi estimado Raul Serrano en la bateria! Un abrazo a to 2 !
