George Michael sang these songs so well, I was hoping he would record an album with Queen. He could have been the new vocalist for them. But it never happened.
I remember seeing this when it was broadcast live back in 1992 ... it's from the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert at Wimbley. I think it's pretty sad that some of you are just posting homophobic crap. This is a brilliant cover, of a brilliant song, and that chorus from the audience singing "LOVE" is absolutely fantastic.
Well...I'll tell you....in my opinion....Freddie Mercury was the best voice in Rock and Roll History...however, George Michael is definately a great talent too.....hey~
Saw him during his 08 US tour. The man was nothing short of amazing. And this single performance tops anything Queen has done with Paul Rodgers (who is a fine singer - just not for Queen). Wish they would tour with GM, I know many people who would pony up for tickets. Fans already respect George as a solo artist, so it would help limit comparisons to Freddie. And they could donate the proceeds to Terrence Higgins Foundation.
'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me'? Explain? I'm not a George Micheal fan you see, so pardon me if it's very obvious, but the song George Micheal does is Somebody to Love.
George Michael is by faaaaaaar a better lead singer for queen than that moron Paul rodgers... i couldn't even begin to compare the two. At least George looks like he is into the songs and enjoying the moment. Paul rodgers always looks like he's about to rip off his shirt and show off to the girls.
I totally agree m8, I bought Queen feat Paul Rogers album, and i was totally dissapointed, im suprised George Micheal turned down the chance to record an album with queen.
If by, "the band," you mean QUEEN...I'd say it wasn't sad at all. If you look a little closer, you'll see that the surviving members of Queen were on stage with them. It was a Tribute concert.
Yes. But I'd move on, and it's been...what?...20 years? Considering that....and the money they surely made WHILST honoring and paying tribute to their long, lost friend.....
The smart money's on all of them having managed to muster a smile during the show.
Majestic and wonderful, a fitting tribute!

Queen's Elton and "Queen's" George are singing "Don't let the sun...."
The only mistake is that this is "Somebody to love" - not "Don't let the sun....."

@soeasylivin Fuck you a person's sexuality has nothing to do with how they perform or how they act in general. Learn some respect.

Out of all the amazing singers that night I think George Michael delivered the best vocal...although every perfomance was great in it's own way!
