Its the best sounding Shadow I have heard on here as some just sound awful and yes they do clatter a bit but move .....but hell do they move been there and done that 50 years ago supreme machine.
It's like my TR6 when it is running right it sounds like a sewing machine. One of the prettiest sounds I've ever heard. There's nothing like a Vincent.
@skypjuh these bike are extremley rare and are worth an absoltue fortune. anyone that owns one of these is a lucky mother f***er. i dont think you will be owning one anytime soon.
I love the black one, it has more torque and endpower then the C-rapide.
an A comet is also nice to drive, but below 3000 rev's because it shakes apart.
my dad has them and i ride them now and then. I have a almost selfmade Moto guzzi V1000, wich i personally prefer above the vincent because it's so tough and 'go everywhere'
The vincent is a bit more delicate, but the nostalgic feel is immense!
@FenrirLupus yeah thats really cool. i bet a new oldstyle Crocker all put together costs alot but sometimes thats cheaper than restoring. do you have any clue what they go for?
my mates dad had a vincent black shadow 1953 bought new from cowies of sunderland, still had the original brass plate on the rear mud guard. what a machine ! but i did have a 1960 bsa gold star to make up for it ! lol
@ind347 But i should say, I own a 22 Powerplus and 47 Chief. I want a 53 Black Shadow (settle for a Rapide) as it's the classiest British machine ever built, and a rocket!
@ind347 yeap well Crockers were definately ahead of there time. love all these awesome bikes be it Harley, Indian, or whatever. them old babies are all great bikes!

There was a TV program some years ago, featuring Jools Holland touring the States on a Vincent. It was fantastic!!
Shows him in various situations wherever he travels.
Does anybody know if it exists on CD or whatever?

@ind347 Crockers eat Harleys and Indians for breakfast

@SsjSned No Crockers produced before the mid 30's, so not much risk of meeting one. Hence my comment, Indian was the Original Harley eater!
