I think its good that you put out your way of performing this pattern. And from the comments you get I allso see that there are many that performes this different. I train ITF Taekwon-Do (and we use sine-wave, often called Bobbing here=) I think people should have an open mind regarding what is the real way of perform pattern. In the video you see how a world champion performes Do san in ITF Taekwon-Do. Good luck with you Training :) Truls Hotvedt, III. Dan - Norway
Only the left leg should have stepped for that first knife hand guard preceding the spear finger thrust. Balance on the spinning backfist is a bit wonky, and the stance on the following backfist over-wide. The outward block / punch combinations should see the punch coming right from the hip, not starting so far forward that power is lost. The knife hands aren't lead by hip movement: rather, the striking hand is moving independently. Improving body mechanics will sharpen it up. Cheers
If you could please give a brief explanation of how black belts at your school do forms, it would be greatly appreciated. Do they do them slower then this? Do those pause longer in between each move? Do they put more or less power in each move? Do they use sine wave?
I've noticed over time that my school tend to do things differently than most and I'm greatly interested in hearing other school's methods.

I'm still waiting for a reply from you. I'm really trying to figure out where your coming from, because your comment makes no sense to me. This is one of the better performances of Do-San I've seen on Youtube. I don't mind constructive criticism, but if I don't get a reply from you I'm going to assume your trolling and delete your comment.
I should have probably linked you to a better video. I'm sure you can find one though, this is Youtube after all. All I'm saying is that it looked rushed, like he was in a hurry to go somewhere.
Missed definition? He clearly stops in between each move and is putting power behind it (as you can hear from his gi snapping). When black belts do forms at your school, do they have long pauses in between each move?
Do not mistake a short pause for no definition. Unless we are told otherwise, we always try to do forms briskly but to come to complete stop inbetween each move before going to the next one. Which is exactly what he is doing.
Great form. This one looks very similar to ours too. Same differences with chambers and moving through stances. Kee Hahps on ours are spear hand and last knife hand. Our spear hand is more in the center and our backfists are to the temple and penetrating about 3 inches past center. I could not tell if the double block before the spear hand was a double knife hand, but ours is.
I do like this style better but it did seem a bit rushed.

This is pretty rushed. Whether or not he paused in between anything, it looks poor. Watch other videos, for a 3rd dan this guy is bad.
