I agree because the 7D's 19point focus and other features for starters is a hands down winner.. After reports of the 60D having really similar ISO performance and image quality it's tempting for me where price is concerned.. But for a photographer the 7D is "THE BOSS!"..for a few more pennies, who knows,I may just pull it off n get the 7D..
Great video...I'm hoping for a video comparison of the 7D and the 60D. I'm still trying to decide between the two..with "L" series glass I believe that they are two unstoppable cameras.
@STEPPHAN7 Oh, there's no comparison between the 60D and the 7D. The 7D wins hands down. Good luck on the new camera though. The 60D will work just fine. It's a great camera.
For anyone thats interested the main different between T2i/550D and 7D is the 7D is weather sealed, top LCD, more autofocus points (19 to 9) same resolution, different LCD on back, more custom options,100% viewfinder and also greater control on ISO 1/3rd stop increments (handy for getting shutter speed to where you want in video. Rick
@nevergive7 Thanks bro....I am reading right now about the need take the frame rate and double the shutter speed and stay at that. You then adjust the aperture and ISO for the exposure. Thanks for all the settings man! I will try it out.
@vearheart42 Mostly the build and size, however the 8 FPS, greater ISO capability, and just the feel of a better built camera. It will also be more durable because it's magnesium alloy. There are way more reasons than just these. I love the interface and the feel of it in my hands.
@nate42nd I won't argue build quality, I'm just newer to this kinda stuff and have seem some comparisons on quality and they are very similar as far as photo's taken. Surely a 7D in my hands would probably a waste though.
I might actually buy a 550D as an entry level DSLR. Would you have any other suggestions for me to educate myself on before I pull the trigger?
The 7D is one hell of a Camera!!! I will trade you for my T2i lol!!. Oh quick question, on the T2i, there is some sort of knob next to the view finder, and it says plus and minus, what do you think its for?? Maybe even Jason from Nevergive7 can help with that?
@nevergive7 I will look into posting that vid. I need to learn the M controls in video mode and see what effect the different settings have. Do you run video in M mode or auto?
@LaczupakabraPL Very nice! The P100 is a nice camera. Hope it works out well. Yes....this IS a serious camera. It's better than I though it would be! Amazing!
@nevergive7 I have Vegas, but haven't learned to use it very well yet. I can't wait to shoot some video with this. The feel and build quality of the 7D is something you would have to experience for yourself. After 200 pics.....I'm shocked at the quality difference between the T1i and the 7D. Amazing camera!
Why does the screen get bright and then go back to normal when checking focus, (when you half depress the shutter button)? I notice that on mine in "Live View" mode too.
@325xia I think it the blades closing to get a proper exposure. Same thing happens if you press the "depth of field preview" button. I could be wrong, but I think that's what's causing that.
The camera is to good for the kit lens. The kit lens limits the quality.

@rlu006 Agreed. I sold it and got the 17-55 F/2.8 IS, 24-105 F/4L, 100mm F/2.8, 50mm F/1.8 and some others. Great camera.

Why did you pick this over the 550D? I know your not a beginner but what about the 7D is really superior to the cheaper 550D?

@XstreamPCReviews Thats a "diopter" like glasses. Adjust it until you can see out of the viewfinder the best.

Superb video Nate! 7D looks like a serious camera. I just ordered my little Nikon Coolpix P100. It's not DLSR but should be just perfect for me.
Thumbs up
