I grew up in Thanet in the 50s and 60s I didnt appreciate it then, a lot has changed including me! It is a beautiful place and I hope to live there once more upon my retirement.
I totally agree..after having left Ramsgate as a boy and having lived in Italy,Rome,Florence,Venice,for 30 yrs, i still dream of my hometown,its beauty and history,so undervalued by so many.Who runs down the locality of where they live are the ones who have never lived elsewhere,maybe ignorant of the realities of other places.I love Ramsgate and Thanet,and always will and always wish to return,as i do,the next time with my little babies,to show them their origins,proud to be of Ramsgate...
