The original Shitty Beatles were from Dallas , ca. 85 -87. The reason the name was mentioned in "Wayne's World" is that some of the gag writers were asked to come up with funny band names , and the person whose suggestion was used was a friend of theirs.
They should change there name, there really good. I know its from waynes world, but a band this good deserves a legit name, one that wont be denied from many venues for having the word "Shitty" in it.
With a right handed Hofner bass line, and a left handed Strat, it's like an alternate "Beatles Universe!" Great jam and they percolated the crowd very well. I wouldn't mind bringing my "Rock n Roll Heroes" TM show (especially my "Jim Morrison & Rod Steawrt" stars down there to ring a ding with the bazillions of Brazillian lady babes.
its always been my dream to start a shitty beatles band. there was a band called SALTY DOG that stopped in a club called WESTSIDE SIX on telegraph ave in detroit in the 70s that would do side 2 of abbey road. anyway .. you can steep yourself in this music. i am in awe of these guys! why not play the music the world loves? gare
