  • Oh, for crying out loud....

To interject Christian theology into the story of THE GOD Hades is lazily muddying up the waters of BOTH the stories of Jesus and Hades, giving a disservice to both stories, no matter how you percieve them. Hades was a Greek deity with his own story. Hades THE GOD is not in the Bible. You might argue that Hades THE PLACE was written into the New Testament, due to the Greek cultural influence at the time, but that's different.

  • @csaver Scripture is too cryptic to claim what's not in there. As for Hades, his keys and his orchard were well known possessions according to ancient Greek poets like Appollodorus, and they're mentioned in the same context between Ezekiel 31:16, Revelation 1:18 & Colossians 2:15. Also, the spirit of Hell is classified as both a principality (angelic ruler) and a place. But perhaps the best authority on this subject is author Roger Mills. Would love to hear your opinion after reading his book.

  • @distantcuzzins Also, you said the Biblical Hell is a place, but left out the fact it speaks of a king as well. Have you never heard of Abaddon, the Angel of the Pit in the book of Revelation? This is an entity separate from Satan (who instead, rules as prince of the air and roads that lead to Hell situated in Outer Darkness). Satan in this aspect is partnered with Abaddon like Hades with Hekate. Also, Satan's capture and release from Hell runs parallel to Persephone's in Revelation 20:1-3.

  • @distantcuzzins Some believe the Olympians were symbolic metaphors describing real entities, places and events. To Christians, the Rape of Persephone could be considered a Greek parable or end time prophecy using fictional characters to portray something on a larger scale. St. Paul, himself didn't deny that God spoke to the Greeks prior to the Jews of his day. But like Scripture says, they carelessly mixed carnal imagination with God’s divine messages.
