Is it correct the words I catch from 1:00 to 1:20 "You are from New Zealand, there used to be quite cold when I been there, before winter over."? I am not native English, Hope any one could help check it
Hayley and Sophie looked so cute in the picture. Surprisingly one of the original 70 copies of her first album went for $3100 on eBay a year ago. Guess it would be like finding a rookie year card of a current top baseball player
@minchien1 There are several section I can not recognize what Hayley and Frank was saying, If there are literal text like caption in engilsh then would be helpfu to those who their native laguage is not english like me.
Great interview, Frank was really funny and had some great jokes, but to hear him singing with Haley, I started to bleed from the ears. But as least he new he sucked by the joke at the end. Kind of reminded me of Sonny and Cher, Marsha and Greg. The chicks can sing but the men should get egged.LOL
Hayley has an amazing voice, and I also view her as sweet and innocent. Its part of what makes her so appealing.
I thought she handled the interview very well. She was only 16 then, but very assured and confident!
aimiwaters - yes we know Frank cant sing like Hayley, but he has had a UK number one hit dont forget! Frank singing with his guests was part of the humour, especially when he duetted with 'real' singers.
I guess credits scroll differently across the pond.
The host was pretty funny, but a bit naughty; Hayley took it with just enough grace and still enough raised eyebrow to send a message. A good interviewer lets the guest do the talking, but I suppose the humor is necessary to draw the guest out. Thanks for posting.
Being a bit naughty is Frank's trademark. Check his interview with Rachael Stirling and the ones with Charlotte Church ("You cheeky bastard!" she says). The Britney Spears ones are odd. Frank is a peculiarly British type phenomenon, Americans may not understand him.
Hi DaveLoneRanger and Sqid101. I appreciate the fact that we can share our differing opinions civilly(so rare on YouTube-*sigh*) with eachother. You are both obviously intelligent and have excellent writing skills and made good comments. Cheers!-Brian
I guess my original offense and ire at Frank's ribald humour in her presence was caused by the fact that I always view Hayley as an innocent, sweet girl. Perhaps I am being naive. Yet, that is exactly what I like most about her, besides her singing of course. It's hard to let go of the early image of her being "the world's young song-bird, with the voice of an angel".-Brian
I thought the interview was interesting and funny except the "the only Church he's ever been in" comment. I think it shocked Hayley and it was way out of line. Charlotte was 17 and Hayley 16 at that time. Technically, they are children. Geez, very inappropriate comment. Kinda ruined the interview for me. But otherwise fun and entertaining.-Brian
Children? At 16? That's the age of consent in New Zealand or the UK. I have seen this comment before about people being "technically children". Presumably this is based on some US law. The person I see bantering with Frank is no child. It's a fully-grown young woman. And both sides had plainly done their homework. Hayley new exactly what to expect from Frank. I don't think she was that shocked.
Just to clarify, I don't mean to be rude to you, but the Frank Skinner Show is raunchy and sexually explicit. Hayley and her management must have know something like that would be said. I'm surprised she was on the show, given her image. Then maybe they want to show that she's not completely stick-in-the-mud conservative.
I love 1:37 when Hayley says I am pretty much pure. cute
