  • 58 people are too embarrassed to admit they think andrew bird is hot and talented

  • COA-FUCKING-CHELLA!

  • Last week we started covering mitosis and meiosis and so forth,it took me a while to realize that "Imitosis" isn't a real word .. hahaha, but some people believe that it's supposed to be a hybrid word.

  • Hey everyone, we're an indie band looking for support. Check us out and if you like it share the love!!

  • I can't help but make a Doctor Who reference! Wonderful live~ anyone counting the Silence? lol

    allsoundsmusic.blogspot.com/2011/11/midwests-finest-musicians-andrew-bird.html

  • This song is awesome, catchy, deep and simple at the same time. Lyrically pleasing. This guy is awesome, unfortunately he sells out at the venues he plays rapid fire. I would love to catch this guy live.

  • ugh. so. damn. good.

  • wow i had listened to four tets remix of this song like a hundred times and now im finally listening to the original and i must say, both are very well done

  • I want to live in a world where the plural of penis is peni

  • so fucking Creative.

  • Awesome !

  • @xLIMPxWRISTx fo real :))

  • Andrew's music makes me explode into stardust inside. His voice and intellectual artistry enthralls me. What nonpereil skill!

  • It's kinda funny but sad at the same time because if you watch videos of him performing this live, you can tell he's getting really frustrated with the loop.

  • I'm surprised andrew wasn't a biology major, with all these scientific references in his songs.

  • @jainsworr Most of the things you will end up knowing have nothing to do with college.

  • I have GOT to but some of this guy's stuff for my mp3!

  • genius

  • Andrew Fucking Bird kids!

    (:

  • Andrew Bird in this video reminds me of David Tennant.

  • Thank you Nick Jr for turning me on to Andrew Bird!

  • it may be because im high, but im just bothered by the fact he has the bottom button of his suit buttoned...c'mon man!

  • @maxmumridefan i'm counting 2 buttons buttoned on the jacket , are you saying that you are bothered because his pants are buttoned :) .. naughty naughty

  • @theborgnl lol

  • This mans so talented and creative! :)

  • 50 people are simply stupid.

  • I love this man. So many joints mannnn.

  • I would just like to say that this is a beautiful song, the lyrics are meaningful, and I owe this song my life. I just want to thank Andrew Bird for this song as well as all the music he has made, because it helped me find the will to live. So.. Thank you Andrew Bird, your music means so much.

  • If you love incredible songwriting like this, then check out this band called Seraplane. They aren't as technically skilled as Andrew Bird, but still if you get the chance search them on youtube!

  • I want to understand what he is singing about but in the end I just find myself just moving along with his melody. Oh so alluring. Love it!

  • @lelehart3 i so agree!! i always try to pay attention to the meanings of the song but the rhythms are amazing. hes great playin that violin hahah

  • Who knew beardless Abe Lincoln was such a great musician?

  • i dont get what the gut with the bugs in the video is doing....can anyone explain?

  • @StickStoneBone Ah, very well then. Thanks for the information.

  • @StickStoneBone Haha, it seems we both misinterpreted each other.

You misinterpreted my disagreement—I was saying that, as an agnostic, I don't put faith in the Bible. I misinterpreted to what extent you believed in originality (i.e., whether or not your post was metaphorical or literal).

Again out of curiosity (if you don't mind being pestered so), what is the purpose of censoring "God" to "G-d"?

  • @StickStoneBone I take it we disagree.

Anyway, out of curiosity, what worldview do you hold? I'd imagine it not being Judeo-Christian in origin, as that bestows humans with free will.

  • Andrew Bird is a God.

  • does ANYone know about a band called aireplane my friend showed me songs from this band and aireplane but i cant find a trace of them

  • Listening to Mr. Bird always turns me right around.

I feel a silly satisfaction every time I hear his sound.

With his violins and vocals, the whistling and gramophone,

I can't seem to quantify it, but I don't feel so alone.

  • @EnglandBeat 1000 points to you.

  • What an interesting track

  • Comment removed

  • @loofah76dbk They are alike in so many ways including the sound of their names!

  • Fantastic!

  • if andrew bird and regina spektor teamed up and had a musical baby my life would be complete. :)

  • This sounds bloody brilliant.

  • I Like It Like That by Pete Rodriguez is better regardless

  • Take basic Latin melody/rhythm

    Sell it to white kids

    Profit?

  • hahaha he does look like bill nye a little bit!

  • Andrew Bird looks like "Benny Ibarra".

  • This is one of the best music videos I've ever seen, I love it.

  • The visuals remind me of peter gabriel. The voice/singing style sounds like a mix of Sting and Jeff Buckley. The music of Andrew bird is fantastic and a great listen with a delicious cocktail on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Thanks pal. Keep making music!

  • Reminds me of "Smooth" from Santana

  • It's funny since I'm currently studying mitosis for my exam in a week, and I came across this song. Perfect studying playlist.

  • He is both a visual and audio artist. Love it.

  • Who knew Bill Nye was such a creative musician

  • can somebody explain this song..i like it

  • @Nigelzanproductions I once drew a comic about how i 'saw' this song and got the chance to give it to him in person... he said i totally got the meaning of it. to me, andrew bird compares human interactions to science, stating that some people will just pick on anyone who seems weaker than them, and that what we would describe as feelings towards each other is nothing more than scientific reactions. all humans are basically alone in this life, no matter how much we feel like we have company :)

  • @wolkjemetpootjes oh...cool thanks dude:)

  • Dr.stringz is lookin mighty fine here ;) yumm

  • 46 people fail

  • I've been modeling most of my music around the sounds Andrew Bird masterfully created on this album. What he does is amazing.

If any of you have a moment, I'd be nterested to hear what others think of my music. Let me know what you think. I have a video on my channel.

  • he will be preforming june 10, in procpect park brooklyn!!!

  • GREATEST SONG EVERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! LOVE THE BEATTT :DDD

  • Heaven, for me, would be having Andrew Bird constantly creating and playing his melodious, inventive, foot-tapping music. The man is, quite simply, a genius.

I'd die a happy man if his music is playing at the moment of my death.

  • what are all of ya on about hipsters etc?! all of you actively trying not to be a "hipster" pretty much makes you the same as them, in the end of the day you're just as obsessed with how people percieve you as they are if you're this concerned

  • @m33td1k whatever

  • ohh fuck why can i not find some alive fucking music this is sucks so bad im full of this hipster shit fuck

  • @markusb2 its not fucking hipster, hipsters are fake indies

  • The new David Byrne, i like it

  • Andrew Bird is very far from undiscovered. 12 on billboard != undiscovered.

  • I love the weird science feel of this.

  • wow, my new favorite rapper

  • Andrew Bird is the Bill Nye of music and poetry

  • some Jack Johnson thing on his voice... i like it

  • great song but the four tet remix is so much better!

  • 1:45 - The Lives of Others? Lol.

  • no. not undiscovered. not a gem. just sort of whatever. almost a mil in views is not anywhere close to undiscovered.

  • @bornrevolution ball sack???

  • @bornrevolution with a world population of like 60 billion or something like that..it is

  • @Madfishrocking you might want to try dividing by 10

  • @Madfishrocking More like 7 billion.....but hey, what's 53 billion between friends.

  • poor little bugs

  • WTF??

  • cool song but fuck what a weird video. I mean this shit is amd creepy. Oct 31st, flat tire country side creepy type of shit. But i like the the tune.

  • @speeches if you thank thats.. scary, go google biggest vagina in the world

  • Those 45 people that disliked this video don't deserve a good witty reply about their stupidity.

  • Anyone else agree that in this video he looks a lot like David Tennant from the Catherine Tate Show sketch where he was a substitute English teacher in Lauren Cooper's class, and she kept asking if he was The Doctor and at the end he sonic'd (yes, that's a verb) her into a Rose Tyler action figure? I know that was rather long-wnded, but it was such an awesome connection I just had to say something.

  • what the hell are those spider type things supposed to be?

  • nice socks

  • 1:45 at first glimpse, bruce willis?

  • Wonderful song, but the implications of what he is saying are horrific. You people should just listen to the lyrics.

  • @Zarophel if you think its horrific your life must be one scary movie.

  • @cgraf420 maybe some people are afraid of insects or something

  • @Desiherzi lol i didnt mean that. the dude below was talking about the meaning of the lyrics being so horrific. but i dunno its just life that's all. bugs are scary though.

  • @cgraf420 haha, yes, they are.

  • @cgraf420

Don't you understand that this is about human relationships with one another and that ultimately we are alone and love doesn't exist? It has nothing to do with bugs. I'm not afraid of insects.

  • @Zarophel im so bored of dumb people cluttering up youtube. 1) the insects thing was about the other guy that responded to me saying maybe some people are scared of bugs lol. 2) Yes i understand that completely and my point was if you think that is horrific your life must be scary cause those are the facts of life! You can either be afraid of it or embrace it and create what you can. Love doesn't exist it's a word humans invented but you can choose to build relationships and care for others.

  • Out of the 919,840 views on this video, I am probably 20,000. Andrew Bird, you are a fine human being.

  • 43 people don't have taste in music.

  • @lz3390 are you really still doing "dislike jokes?"

  • Andrew Bird's music compels one to make strange sorts of movements with one's shoulders. It's pleasant.

  • Oh, wow... I think I'm all in on "Dr. Stringz"!

  • Brokenrecordsindieheadphones.blogspot.com

  • is that bill nye?

  • dr. stringz is such a badass

  • I freaked out when I played this song and went to mess around on a different website, and realized Andrew Bird wasn't playing!

I went to youtube and I heard nothing! When I started to cry I realized the volume was all the down, and had the thought of if Andrew Bird never being made send shivers down my spine,

But Andrew Bird blew me away and realized he will always be there.....

    Well his recordings..

  • @Fantasticawesomeguy I get that feeling every minute that I'm not hearing Andrew Bird.

  • weird. i mean really weird. But i like it ! Like when i first saw American Physco. I was like Huh? Show me more. ; )

  • go to andrew bird's website then to a/viary and watch the "Pitchfork - Cemetery Gates" video if you want to see the most amazing performance of anonanimal.

  • this guy was did a song for nick jr. and thats even good.

  • he looks like Bill Nigh the Science Guy

  • What is these song about

  • Ah I love this song and I really love fake palindromes, one of my favorites.

  • 40 people have no taste for art.

  • Anyone else discover him from Jack's Big Music Show? XD

  • @TehRogueMuffin lol - Yep!

  • Intriguing music, his unique style pulls me into the spiderweb and I don't even care when I feel the silk bounce around me. Love it!

  • Awesome!

  • i have no idea what its about

  • Very first song I heard from him, very funkyyyy.

  • @maciasterence This is the very first song I heard from Andrew Byrd as well, and I first heard it on KMTT 103 FM "The Mountain" , a radio station located in Seattle. Awesome, awesome song! Very addicting! :D

  • The rotating speakers are a visual representation of a palindrome--they are the same forward and backward.

  • Andrew Bird is the heir to the crown worn by David Byrne. Similar styles, and even similarities in looks and movements. That's not meant to take anything away from Andrew... He's certainly earned his own stripes. I'm just suggesting that his music is reminiscent of Byrne's (to me, at least).

  • This guy is incredibly talented. Easily one to keep an eye on for future awesomeness.

  • This song is amazing. I found it earlier today and I've had it playing nonstop. Fantastic.

  • wow.. another incredible find while looking up info on Dr Stringz on Nick Jr for my 8 yr old... wow!

  • I am in love with this song! Can't believe I "found" this guy on a kids TV show...Dr. Stringz indeed...

  • someone randomlygot me onto this and it gets my love!

  • @lyondota lol "hidden gem." his CD's were at the starbucks down the street, like four years ago.

  • @lyondota Its now discovered.

  • @lyondota I wouldn't call a video with a million views an undiscovered gem.

  • @MuRd0K Well considering the fact it has about 0.25% of the views that Justin Beiber's "Baby" has, I'd say it was relatively undiscovered. And it is a gem. So yeah... undiscovered gem.

  • @David1sBored That's not a good measuring system.

  • @lyondota Don't let it make you feel too smart. That's how hipsters are born.

  • @IThinkIMightBeRobert

    You speak much truth sir.

  • @IThinkIMightBeRobert may i confirm hipsters are fake indies?

  • @IThinkIMightBeRobert u made me smirk :>

  • @IThinkIMightBeRobert I love all the truth in this comment

  • @IThinkIMightBeRobert

Speaking about hipsters, I made 3 music lists from A to Z, being Andrew Bird the first video in the first list, made of some songs I like. After band names started running out for letters like "x" and "z", I realized a lot of the stuff I put in is in fact considered hipster.

  • im studying for my biology exam now and this song is killing my revision...

  • He's literally the most versatile artist I've ever encountered, there's no scale for how talented this man is.

  • This video should have more views than it does.

  • I swear I've heard this in a commercial...I think was for some kind of Vodka?

  • @soojb7799 probably not...i saw in an interview once where he said he doesn't like to spread his music about. he'd rather keep it pure. he turned down a few rather lucrative car commercials for said reason. however, he did allow his music in a bunch of marriot commercials...and his explanation: "because i stay at hotels".

  • @AnnaRose5225 I forget which, but a bank uses "measuring cups" in their commercials here in Chicago.

  • @AnnaRose5225 Oh yeah, you're right! It was a Marriott commercial.
