This is the only scene in this film that made me go "...Eh?" Everything else about it, and the first one, is brilliant (yes, I purposefully did NOT mention the third one). But after the initial confusion, I just laugh at it in a good way. Lol :)
Also, unless the Scorpion King is composed entirely of Blu-Tac, what's keeping the staff/pyke from just sliding out and sending Fraser to his doom? There's no hook or spike on the end of it, every other bloody movie makes out like these things can be removed easier than an errant splinter and yet apparently this weapon has the clinging properties of Spiderman's web. Consistency, action movies, consistency!
@LazyMan9000 It's an ancient artifact blessed with the ability to kill an immortal scorpion-man hybrid that commands an army of anthropomorphic killer jackals. I'm pretty sure the thing has a few other helpful abilities in it to help it in its goal. AKA: Magic
@narutardkyuubi - It's called "Suspension of Belief". I can buy that an immortal scorpion-man hybrid would command an army of anthropomorphic killer jackals - but I can't buy the fact that he apparently bleeds glycerine.
