People don't get obsidians style it was the same with fonv they are a lot grittier and like to get into the political side of things the rights and wrongs and show that things have an actual outcome, rather than the riding into the sunset classic ending.
I think the reason why people didn't like KotoR 2 is because it was a different kind of game. It wasn't just about action and adventure. It dealt with things much more in-depth. Plus it was way more depressing than the first game.
Defeating the bad guys in KotoR 2 doesn't just fix everything. The game revealed the hypocrisy, corruption, and apathy within the Republic and Jedi. Even if you win, the galaxy was still stagnating and slowly breaking apart as more people lose faith in the Republic.
i have read that there was to come a knights of the old republic 3 but it was cancelled bij lucasarts and you have the mmo that looks great but i dis like it because it is not set around revan anymore. but kotor 3 looks great from what i read a whole new character en plot en already they have thought of 4 new worlds and even disgend them but they cancelled it i hope that they will restart the project because it looks great !! you can read it on wookieepedia :P

Except lucasarts wouldn't allow that to happen.

I thought #2 was a good game, and I am confused as to why this video seems to infer that kotor 2 is a failiure. I am excited for the MMO, but I hope that they eventually make another kotor as well.
What they should do is make remakes of the first two using the technology perfected by Casey Hudson and his team in Mass Effect and then after they make those remakes, then they should make a real KoTOR 3, TOR isn't even expected to be a major hit even though Lucasarts has put so much money into it. Hell, even one of the protagonists of TOR, Satele Shan is a copy of Bastila Shan with a blue double-bladed lightsaber. (The only difference is that her lightsaber is blue instead of yellow).

i thought Kotor 2 was epic and a perfect sequal in terms of plot because i think the idea was that kotor 2's plot was a stepping stone for kotor 3 its just like sequals in movies not a huge amount happens it is all just building to the trilogy.

KOTOR 2 was not bad of a game i hate when people trash it. Sure the plot was dumped at the end, but it was a fun game and addicting just as KOTOR was I only see a plot problemat the end but it was still entertaining
kotor2 was never finished properly due to george lucas`s strict deadlines, they never finished half the game, they rushed it out, knotr 1 was a great game, kotor2 was a complete disapointment.
It's true that Obsidian were put under a strict deadline to finish KOTOR 2, but it was still a great game with great moments (some bit I thought exceeded the first game). On the whole KOTOR 1 was superior, and unfortunately KOTOR 2 did not tie up all the loose ends in the plot, but to call it a complete disappointment is to ignore its merits. Obsidian did a damn fine job with the limited time they were allocated.

Kotor 1 was set during the war and you got the decide the fate of that war and the galaxy, kotor 2 was more like mysterious game where you find out what happened during those war and what will come. Both games were excellent in their plots and in their 1 story, kotor 2 didn't destroy kotor 1, it gave many answers to it, as im sure kotor 3 or sw tor will give answers for kotor 1 AND 2.

@Bournesax KotOR 2 is incredibly glitchy and it has major plotholes. It's unfinished. However, it's still an amazing game. I love playing it. I really like how things that do work in the game are more intricate. There's more detail (though it's often overlooked because of the problems with the plot) and things are deeper overall. If KotOR 2 was completely finished when it was released, it would've been a much better game than KotOR 1. It just feels like it misses the mark way too much.

lmao, I know this was posted on feb 14th,2008 but seriously the comments on this video are all stupid, do they not know that there is not going to be a KOTOR 3 well there is and there is not. since bioware as stated The Republic is KOTOR 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and so on .
light side - you and revan leave the planet and travel to republic space. there you learn that a new sith known as darth something and you do a quest with planets and stuff to kill that darth somehting and save the galaxy. the rest i will leave for the readers of these comments to continue on the story.
The storyline then switches to the exile, who has just landed on the planet and goes in search of revan. you find the temple and enter it's shadowy bowels. When you find revan:
Dark side - you tell revan who you are and what had been happening in the galaxy since he was gone. he then challenges to destroy you. you fight him, and you turn out to be equal in strength and power. so revan calls off the battle and asks you to join him to conquer the galaxy.
(modern sith like malak, nihilus, sion, treya, vader, maul, palpatine, and so on are just followers of an ideal). If you are a lightside character then you send the ghosts to star wars heaven (or hell). if you are a dark side character then you persuade the ghosts to teach you the true power of the sith. you spend many months there in learning. you become so powerful that you then destroy the ghosts and claim yourself as the true ruler of the sith.
if they do make a kotor 3 then this is how the plotline should go:
the you play as revan on a dark and mysterious planet with many ancient sith ruins. you go inside of a giant temple that looks like the vatican for sith and fight many ancient sith spirits that gaurd the inner sanctum. you then get inside the inner sanctum and perform a dark ritual that causes 5 sith to appear. these ghosts tell you that they were the very first sith and explain the history of the true sith.
Gosh everybody is like omg I hope you all know that they need to come up with a new character for kotor III (if it even comes out) and besides they have tor but sadly it's onley for computer. :(

Alright KOTOR 1= amazing, KOTOR 2= amazing but too short. There most likely isnt going to be a KOTOR 3 so give up its been too long. KOTOR was good, KOTOR 2 was just as good. In KOTOR 2, your character and your party changes depending on your choices between light and dark. You were restricted from certain areas depending on your alliance.

@Nexsah the more in depth customization. Everybody says the characters weren't as personal or likeable as the first, but I would have to disagree, Atton is a prime example. He and Kreia and Bao dur and Brianna were my favorite new characters. Given I still liked Canderous, HK 47, and T3M4 better. Reason it was incomplete wasn't Obsidian's fault, it was Lucasarts fault for pressuring them and rushing them to complete it. I know they cancelled kotor 3, but hopefully they'll bring it back.

@Bournesax KotOR 2 is incredibly glitchy and it has major plotholes. It's unfinished. However, it's still an amazing game. I love playing it. I really like how things that do work in the game are more intricate. There's more detail (though it's often overlooked because of the problems with the plot) and things are deeper overall. If KotOR 2 was completely finished when it was released, it would've been a much better game than KotOR 1. It just feels like it misses the mark way too much.

light side - you and revan leave the planet and travel to republic space. there you learn that a new sith known as darth something and you do a quest with planets and stuff to kill that darth somehting and save the galaxy. the rest i will leave for the readers of these comments to continue on the story.

The storyline then switches to the exile, who has just landed on the planet and goes in search of revan. you find the temple and enter it's shadowy bowels. When you find revan:
Dark side - you tell revan who you are and what had been happening in the galaxy since he was gone. he then challenges to destroy you. you fight him, and you turn out to be equal in strength and power. so revan calls off the battle and asks you to join him to conquer the galaxy.

(modern sith like malak, nihilus, sion, treya, vader, maul, palpatine, and so on are just followers of an ideal). If you are a lightside character then you send the ghosts to star wars heaven (or hell). if you are a dark side character then you persuade the ghosts to teach you the true power of the sith. you spend many months there in learning. you become so powerful that you then destroy the ghosts and claim yourself as the true ruler of the sith.

if they do make a kotor 3 then this is how the plotline should go:
the you play as revan on a dark and mysterious planet with many ancient sith ruins. you go inside of a giant temple that looks like the vatican for sith and fight many ancient sith spirits that gaurd the inner sanctum. you then get inside the inner sanctum and perform a dark ritual that causes 5 sith to appear. these ghosts tell you that they were the very first sith and explain the history of the true sith.

Alright KOTOR 1= amazing, KOTOR 2= amazing but too short. There most likely isnt going to be a KOTOR 3 so give up its been too long. There is going to be a SWTOR (Star Wars: The old Republic) (SWTOR is the official name). Its going to be about pre Kotor 1 and after Kotor 2. Its going to be amazing. It'll probably cost a shit ton of money. It'll probably be more worth it then you all think. And it's too bad they arnt going to make a Xboz-360 version (Play-station 3 can go FUCK it's self)---------

KOTOR 2 had amazingly in depth conversations than KOTOR 1.
it had a way more interesting and mysterious story line.
The combat and game play was much better.
it had way more options and variety in the game play
you could gain influence on your Characters.
I honestly loved the game.
The first game in my opinion had a lame childish ending compared to the 2nd one. over all I though KOTOR II was a much better game.

KOTOR was good, KOTOR 2 was just as good. In KOTOR 2, your character and your party changes depending on your choices between light and dark. You were restricted from certain areas depending on your alliance.
To say KOTOR 2 was a disappiontment is like saying Darth Vadser was the best father in the universe. It just doesn't sound right.

Kotor 2 was incomplete but not bad. The thing is if you play it on the computer you have it made, because people made mods to restore the missing content and add new stuff. Sadly I don't have it on my computer. The only that I didn't like other than the fact that it was an incomplete game, is the ending, it was like a big f u to the person who played through it. @Nexsah the more in depth customization. Everybody says the characters weren't as personal or likeable as the first, but I would have to disagree, Atton is a prime example. He and Kreia and Bao dur and Brianna were my favorite new characters. Given I still liked Canderous, HK 47, and T3M4 better. Reason it was incomplete wasn't Obsidian's fault, it was Lucasarts fault for pressuring them and rushing them to complete it. I know they cancelled kotor 3, but hopefully they'll bring it back.
