  • Stevie is cold, man---Stevie is cold, man---A MASTER PIECE!!!---WOW!!! 1000 THUMBS UP!!

  • Stevie Wonder is the best musician ever, period.

  • Did you know that Stevie always plays with the drum sticks the other way around. Look closely you can see that hes using the handle ends. He always does. Fantastic

  • amazing....amazing artist full stop......breathless...

  • unbelievable this man cant even see where those drums are at stevie is not human hes an alien

  • @mgalore Stevie, has the setup of the drum kit, memorized, he does 90% of the drums in most of his albums too, just listen to "I Wish" thats him on the drums, also if you want a better look at his drumming, look for the documentary "Songs in the Key of Life" its here on Youtube in 8 parts, also someone got the drum portion as a separate video as well.

Stevie has pretty much stopped doing Drum Solo's in live shows, but his work on the Keytar is amazing & a treat in itself to see in person.

    PEACE.

  • could've sworn thats a duet... but still it makes you wonder

  • @Benn0912 Yep, in parts of it, he is duelling.

  • Stevie on KIT!!!

  • The 7 people who dislike this video should be executed...

  • I don't know what to say.....oh good, i found my lip, it fell on the ground as I was watching this....BANANAS!!!!

  • I can't believe some people are unimpressed. Not even a "He's an alright drummer, for a man who also plays bass, piano, guitar, harmonica, saxophone, and pretty much anything else he damn well pleases, given a few weeks." Well, did I mention he's blind?

  • this is the great love of gene hoglan

  • @overcontrol what makes you say that? i was looking up stevie wonders drum solos specifically looking for a double bass one becuase of gene hoglan saying on his dvd how much he loves stevie wonder as a drummer...there isn't THAT much footage of him...

  • @queenmcsleaze gene love at this guy!!!

  • @overcontrol you've seen the DVD too

  • @queenmcsleaze Yeah, amy artists like Stevie on drums, he's not as known for it as he is the Clav & many other instruments he plays, but he is amazing on drums...

I remember in grade school, my music teacher (also the band teacher) telling me I wouldn't be able to play drums because I'm legally blind ,I asked her if she ever listened to Stevie Wonder's music, she said 'of course' I then told her to listen carefully, for the Drums in most of his stuff & then realize HE was the one doing them.

  • @queenmcsleaze the teacher then proceeded to silently put a pair of sticks in my hands, & sigh, ok, I suppose you can attempt to play, but your not going to do well & your not going to be in the school band...

I was in the band 2 years. till I left that school, & the new one didn't have a music program, & I lived in the ghetto in my city, had no choice of schools...

I was shoved through "Special Ed" my whole life, but EVERYTIME I faced negativeness about my blindness, I thought of STEVIE.

  • ok but the other drummer and percussionist did most of the work, basically 3 drummers not one

  • @demac209 If for some reason you're not impressed, you should check out the video of him as a teen, hitting the skins.

  • Pas besoin des yeux pour jouer de la batterie ..et le gars fait bien le taf derriere aussi ne l'oublions pas ;) Mais bon c'est du show à la stevie ( très fort comme artiste)!

  • if i were stevies drummer i'd be like...wait..stevie cant see me playin with my sticks....what am i doin catchin em in my mouth and twirlin em around lol

and also....stevie shoulda gone solo for this....no need for a backup drummer...stevie's a drum god by himself thank you very much XD

  • i want stevie wonder in a death metal band as the drummer

  • @gomezthemexicanhobo you have never seen a drummer hold the sticks backwards before? "Poor guy" huh? Tell you something, this man dusts both you and me on the drums. I went downstairs and closed my eyes behind the set and felt like a clump of shit when I was embarrassed enough to stop.

  • I swear I wouldnt be suprised if I saw Stevie Wonder driving one day!

  • @MHortonIII lol. that made me laugh

  • @MHortonIII of course you think drive a plane ? ^^

  • @MHortonIII a Rich businessman already let Stevie take the controls of his airplane in mid-flight..

  • they need to release this whole damned concert now!

  • all those jordisons and barkers and mayers can get on their knees and SUCK IT!

  • who is the dude behind stevie? he a badd dude too.

  • Duet

  • Really nice! It's not a solo though.

  • EPIC! 3:27

  • Hey, give credits to the monster behind him, the dude did almost everything in the solo, Stevie Wonder didn't play alone. The description doesn't even mention him.

  • He is really good, but I am also blind and play as good. Check my channel to hear my drum solo and subscribe.

  • @rodrub12 not my type to hit on a guy with a "handicap/disability" but watch ur words son.... you don't even play drum (real drum) and your version of Beethoven is a little off-beat

just don't brag and say you're as good as MR Wonder ;)

  • if he could that with his eyes closed... imagine wat he could have doen with all his eyes opened!

  • @justicearkorful1 i feel like a total noob after watching this

  • it's the metal way to hold the drum sticks like that - Dave grohl is one of those who does it

  • what cant this man do

  • is it me or is stevie hold the sticks the wrong way poor guy aha

  • @gomezthemexicanhobo You know, many drummers do that.

  • @RustyBlade69 no ... i did not know that

  • @gomezthemexicanhobo Gives a diffrent sound. Ans you get more power with the "wrong" end of the stick.

  • Have played drums for quite a while & I cannot shake my head enough in appreciative 'wonder' at this humans prowess in the music field. To love music, is to love Stevie.

  • I think I just realized how worthless eyesight really is

  • hot hot hot!!!!

  • imagine if he could see

  • !

    Prof.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • HOLY SHIZZ THIS IS AMAZING

  • Stevie Wonder - Travis Barker lol

  • wait.....what?

  • stevie used to sit in on drums in nyc with the heaviest jazz dudes in the world.thx 4 da upload. peace and blessings.

  • When I get too full of myself on my own drums, I just close my eyes and try to play...and back down to earth I crash!!!!

  • i dont mean to be a debbie downer here but hes holding his sticks wrong.......... just sayin

  • @LiLWinK1223 nope that's one way of holding drumstic

  • @LiLWinK1223 Yeah, and Jimmy Hendrix played his guitar wrong too... ;-)

  • @LiLWinK1223 No...he's not. I've seen quite a few people hold their sticks this way. Some even hold one "backwards" and one "conventionally" (usually the snare stick reversed). Try it. It's a different feel altogether. You can generate massive power with all the weight at the front. I'm just glad he doesn't care about 'wrong' way and 'right' way or he may have been too self conscious to redefine music as we know it.

  • @LiLWinK1223

Feel will always be more important than technique when making music is the goal.

  • y is he holding the sticks backwards

  • LOOKS LIKE T PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats really cool....especially cause hes blind n all

  • next up. Stevie Wonder drive solo. Guest welcome to join.

  • When I first heard that Stevie could play drums, I was like "Hell no he can't!!!"

Well, fuck the shit outta me!!!

I shouldn't have been surprised though, huh??

  • @hotdrumchick Yeah, it's Stevie who wrote and played the drums on "Superstition". Guy can groove and solo. Hero!!

  • @hotdrumchick he did his own drums for superstition and higher ground. And I bet many more. When he left Motown records, he did most of his own instrumentals

  • this is better than lil waynes guitar solo

  • @superjam18 lol, true

  • i would have loved to have seen a gene kupa, buddy guy and..stevie drum battle ..that would be just amazing

  • thomas pridgen anyone?

  • Stevie was having a good ole time!

  • He actually can drive a car. Another Incredible Stevie Wonder fact is that he has flown a private jet before.

  • @MicDeluxx I knew both of those facts! He did a tour in Hawaii, & they let him drive a car on the inside of the Aloha stadium, also when Oprah Winfrey bought Stevie a 450,000 Rose Royce Fantom, they let him drive it on the run ways of various airports. I believe the airplane Stevie flew belonged to some African Prince, & they let him take the controls for a while.

  • Are you kidding? I'm starting to doubt that he's actually blind haha, I bet he can drive a freakin car too!

  • Samuel L Jackson behind him is pretty good too...

  • @addictivephilosophy No....Samuel Jackson behind him is the only one you can really hear. He is the main good stuff. and Stevie is just soloing over it....very quitely....and not to successful either.

  • @nuklear41 dude, u need to check some other stevie wonder drum shit on youtube, trust me the guy can play

  • @nuklear41 Stevie Wonder plays the drums on all of his albums, Stevie played every instrument on his (Music Of My Mind) album, except the trumpet. Stevie Wonder can play any instrument he has picked up,including bass & electric guitar. Stevie Wonder is also responsible 4 synths producing authentic sounding acoustic instruments, & weighted keys on synthesizers. Thats right, weighted keys on electric pianos came from the vision of Stevie Wonder! Go 2 the Kurzweil music systems web site 4 info!

  • @nuklear41 dude, he is BLIND.... it IS sucesfull

  • If I could, I'd give my eyes to Stevie.

  • Stevie just breathes and music comes out

  • Stevie is dam good.

  • The audio isn't stevie. All you hear is the guy behind him. Stevie isn't that good.

  • @nuklear41 if that makes you feel better

  • @drews u totally kicked nuklear41 ass with that comment.

    Btiw !Long live stevie

  • @drews Agree....kicked his ass..... Stevie Wonder is a legend..

  • @nuklear41 you are so wrong, he is a musical genius

  • @nuklear41 its ok that a blind man can kick your ass at the drums just be happy you got eyes to witness that he can keep practising dude lol

  • @nuklear41 yes you're right, but only between 0:00 and 0:08 ... you suck and stevie it's a fuckin LEGEND!

  • holy shit, Stevie is my hero

  • omg amazing

  • Stevie Wonder is a Great person and have great talented ,Awesome.

  • Who's the other dude laying down the beat and working his ass off on the other kit? He's so good.

  • no point comparing stevie to other musicians. he is music in human form.

  • dont need your eyes, just african decent

  • @marcusburnett22 next hes gonna be playing bass. then the true african decent will be shown.

  • Stevie has a third eye that sees a lot.

  • @KingMellow11 is it his asshole?

  • I ain't sure Stevie is blind either. I met at a bookshop and introduced myself. He offered me a "high five" and moved his hand just in time and said "Too slow!!"

  • stevie can play better than drummers thats been playing all they life and he blind

  • u can see that he is blind!! if he wasnt he would look at he is playing... like every drummer does.

  • @tzouzi Buddy Rich doesn't look when he plays. Trust me on this one...

  • Comment removed

  • @maalth i dont mean all the time... but sometimes you have to look...

  • stevie wonder is awsome playin da drums blind i couldn't believe it

  • This solo is pretty damn slick, but to anyone who is impressed because he his blind I'm sorry but that's not a giant acheivement. I don't like that there's another drummer behind him, it makes it hard for me to tell which bits he's actually doing

  • @MrSpaceLemon check out drum solo stevie wonder its a rare vid just him playing its in black and white

  • Stevie Wonder doing a double bass pedal!!! Just crapped myself!! So Cool!!

  • he killen it!!!!!!

  • Stevie, Your better than me and your blind.

  • lol woman gets stabbed @ 2:22

  • wow....the man was a blessing to the world of music

  • Whats BLACK and screams like FUCK?

    ....Stevie wonder Answering the iron

  • Be FOREVER AMAZED at what STEVIE does WITHOUT his eyesight, and then tell me what you're accomplishing with your 100% eyesight! DEEP THOUGHTS THERE!

  • I am a metalhead and I gotta say every drummer has to bow down to Stevies musical abilities, Im not a fan of his music, but drumming is a different story and to any drummers out there who dont think this is complex, try playing a kickass solo blindfolded, its as close as ur gonna get.

  • have you seen stevie wonders wife? XD

  • hrd eating the sticks lol

  • Gerry brown and stevie wonder. what a combo!!! two of the best in the business.amazing.

  • What a legend!

  • technically a drum duet? still awesome

  • Stevie Wonder is so MultiTalented...I am in Awe of This Beautiful Man and his magnificent Music!!!!

  • 2:00 look at the niga in the other drums

  • stevie's a great drummer

  • Stevie could give Bonzo a lesson or two!

  • Never seen him play the drums thats just god given talent

  • Stevie Wonder has been playing the drums since before he signed with Motown.

  • i just had an eargasm

  • @bassindeface Stevie just had an orgasm...

  • He's not blind, he can see through music!!!

  • @mreliassimpson Obviously your not a drummer. Drummers that want to play louder use the "Fat" of the stick to get bigger beats. So to do that they reverse the stick to play on the thicker end. I think if people did research before they comment i think a fewer people wouldn't look like fools

  • @mreliassimpson Do you kiss your mother with that foul mouth of yours? If you didn't care why did you comment back then you idiot!!! Obviously 6 years of drumming taught you nothing and need to continue to learn. Oh and by the way when you go to your drumming lessons stop at the nearest anger managment class and take a seat lamer!!!

  • @mreliassimpson Wow a big man behind a computer screen. My drummer from my band saw what you wrote and said you probably suck anyway. Stevie Wonder is blind and can play 100x better than you

  • @tiesthatbind08 probability has nothing to do with this..yes stevie wonder is blind he can play piano, drums and other instruments almost perfectly so yes he is probibly better than me but if he's 100x better what does that make your sad excuse for a drummer?? 300,400,1000000x worse than stevie wonder?

  • @mreliassimpson Well your absolutley correct considering i'am not a drummer but i know the basics and been in enough bands to know the tricks of the trade. So if you feel you need to TRY and bash me with your imature ways then do so in a private message so people here can enjoy the video without seeing your stupidity.

  • @tiesthatbind08 your the one who keeps replying spponey

  • @mreliassimpson actually both of u r right i have been drumming 4 like 3 years now and my band teacher james bell always plays with the fat side of the drum sticks outside or with marhcing band sticks (heavy) so yea and u use the front side to be soft if u play to hard u will proly end up breaking the sticks

  • @mreliassimpson man I've only been playing drums for a year and i know that! dumb-ass

  • is there anything he can't do????

  • He played all the drums on Inversions and I'm assuming "Lifes.." and "Talking Book".

  • if only that dude at the back would stop playin

  • man of wonders indeed!!! where was this live filmed btw?

  • plays a mean bass also

  • Now that's pretty good!

  • @annie482000

    thats not pretty good.

That was super good ! :)

  • dont even fool around like that

  • @annie482000 That's beyond amazing....Pretty good is not in the ballpark! Great comment anyway...All the best!

  • AMEN !!!!

  • HOLY SHIT!!!

  • that's crazy a blind guy playing drums and good drums at that no wonder they call him steve wonder beacause they wonder how the fuck he dose it?

  • Dude can play!!!!

  • sure, that stevie is blind? o.O

  • may be he has eyes like daredevil D:

  • omg brann dailor was right, hes realy good!

  • Yea man !! Stevie OWNS !! Brann is a great drummer !

  • STEVIE WONDER IS NOT BLIND

  • ..yes he is.. why would you say that?

  • im just kidding. he's just so good , he has to be not blind. lighten up

  • oh haha..okay

  • finally, someone speaks the truth

  • haha nice double pedal lol

  • I've never seen him play the drums before either, but it doesn't surprise me. More than anyone else I've ever seen, his keyboard style brings out percussive nature of those instruments.

  • Pure Genius!

  • I saw Stevie do this in concert. I was shocked..did not even know he played the drums..but omg..awesome!! Talk about gifted entertainer..brilliant!!

  • He is playin drums on most of his albums, I know for sure on Songs in The Key of Life. And he is also playin on the early Spinners stuff too.

  • What's this Leemute guy talking about? Stuff about Hope, God, Religion,,, dude,, I'm watching a drumsolo,, THATS my religion!!!!

  • GIFTED...

  • I think him being blind is what makes him so good at music, like it MAKES him focus on the sound and everyhting

  • King of music!

  • amazing!!!

i tried drumming with my eyes closed just now and it sounded like disaster

    stevie wonder is a miracle!!!

  • Awesome thanks for posting...super cool :-)

  • goo710.. your a fucking idiot. he is gifted and special.. you just dont appreciate music..

  • Don't need to deal with this. Proof read your comment, make sure you read it carefully then read mine & make your decision. Might just want to delete your weak & pathetic comment.

  • He's only as special as people credit him. Goo710 never said he isn't talented, nor that is music isn't excellent. Clearly he appreciates it, he just doesn't see the point in calling something a gift where A) There is no giver; B) the product that you call a gift is clearly the result of hard work and dedication. It's almost a slap in Stevie Wonder's face to say "You had nothing to do with it, you're just some tool for what someone greater gave you".

I say gifted, but goo710's no fucking idiot.
