Be careful with the hot water. If the water is too hot it'll boil the resin into the glass and stain it yellow forever.

Kay, I have a bubbler with an attached downstem and bowl, meaning I can't take them out or off to clean. But inside the chamber on the outside of the downstem gets fucking nasty, and in the chamber under the bowl. Any ways to clean it? I've tried salt + the various combinations.

@420jointtoker This is true with regular glass that is rather prone to break due to thermal shock. However, borosilicate glass (a.k.a. pyrex) is much more resistant to thermal shock. So, if your glassware is made from borosilicate glass you should be fine.

good idea to pour the extra alcohol into the downstem. i used to just put them in a bag but you have to separate the glass so it doesn't break. your method is much faster and doesn't waste bags. 2 thumbs up!

Nice vid man! another method I use is this: I put the bowl and the stem (not at the same time of coarse) in a small plastic baggy, then pour the salt and alchohol in there and just shake it up real good, instead of plugging all the holes by hand, happy toking!! :D

Your safe for air travel when its clean. Clean meaning that when they look at it they don't see rsin on it or smell resin. When they see any spots on the inside of your pipe they flag you. Send the pipe to have it tested and arrest you. I have flown international with glass pipes that had been used over 9-10 years. Got searched and almost missed my flight but they couldn't hold me because they were clean. For flying I would recommend using boiling water and dish washer powder. Then use Alcohol.

First of all bongs are made from Pyrex and not glass. Second of all boiling water is not hotter then 350 degrees F. Which is normally the temp you cook a roast on. Third of all the BONG will only break when you take it from the freezer and put boiling water in it. Or vice versa with ice cold water. I clean my shit every 2 days with boiling water and never has it cracked. Never not one time has my bong broken due to cleaning. SO STFU you have no idea.

I would say that it was that you dropped it. I have only had 1 bong break in the last 10 years. That bong broke because a friend hit it with a beer bottle because he was drunk trying to hit it with the bottle in his hand. My stem broke just from tapping it on the sink but that was because the joint wasn't strong. I have never seen a Pyrex bong break from boiling water. I made a video on cleaning one but I haven't uploaded it yet. I will make another video soon and upload it.

@mkstreets dish wahser powder is soap so i could but it wouldn't have the scrubbing effect as you get with grainy salt and unless you REALLY rinsed the bitch out your hit could taste like soap. and alcohol is like a fuckin miracles for cleaning pieces i put a bowl in a baggie with hot water shook it for 10 minutes water was barely brown and still see through then i did it with rubbing alcohol 15 seconds of shaking and the bag was opaque and BLACK took the bowl out rinsed it andwas cleanas new..

Great video a few things I liked aside from the how to clean instructions were that he smoked before he cleaned it proving once again that just cause you smoke you can still do things and do them well. Another thing is how he kept the water tap off and only turned it on when he needed it which is very green. Nicely done. Can't wait to get my first glass bong soon.
