Too bad she will be long gone before mainstream R&R realize how important her contributions to music - as we know it today - are. Where would the likes of Cheryl Crow - The Dixie Chicks and countless others be if it wren't for Melanie - Joan - Carly and Carol? And why is Melanie the one who is "on the outside looking in"? Go to Europe and everyone knows her name.
