I hope there is something more than this, this sheet is phuqing depressing........did they wake up one morning and decide to remake this song..."oh hey, we're having some wine and do some lines tonight, wear something nice cause you may or may not be in a music video".....I feel like I am interrupting their party
ive been a roxy music fan since the very early days of mtv - "more than this" was one of my favorite songs as a kid. usually new artists butcher covers & remixes - this version of "more than this" by madison park and lenny b is a great breath of fresh air :) i think its fantastic. its new, and this remake brings back some of the old feelings i have forgotten "more than this" sent back in the early 80's. madison park, thank you :)
this is a good version. im a roxy music fan and i give this one a thumbs up. roxy music's songs can easily be blended with electronic music. i think people will look back at roxy music in 20 years from now and realize just how good and influential they were.
the only remake of any song that I have really enjoyed is the remake by Fear Factory of the Gary Numan song Cars.. most remakes dont hold up. Sorry.. Great song in the original though
@sleomazzola I really do believe it's awful. Just everything about it grates; it feels forced, there's no nuance. Each to their own, but I wish they'd never touched the song at all.
I think the awesome of music and all arts it's that it's very subjective and each people decide what it's good music and don't for itself I hate people who thinks that if tha song doesn't like or fit in their style it's not music!

she doesn't have the same vocal range as Brian Ferry and Blondie did in regards to this song
No Comparison -- just something to feed the teeny boppers and clubsters and keep them happy (they don't know the difference anyway, most of them -- just give them a dance beat and another Booty Shake song and they'll say that it's better than this one, anyway)
the world is filled with stupid people who don't know what good music sounds like. wouldn't recognize it if they tried

This is a great cover, I love it.What a nice change to hear a great cover, and not just a copy. I love the mellow laid back vocals, I was waiting for it to speed up but, No. just perfect. thanks for posting. LOL .
Madison Park is the American answer to the ambiance/electronic/lounge chill sound that has hit the world the last five years or so..thank you for this remake! still love it after a year later :)
the video personifies their mood and concept of lounge music.
shit..you can say that again. every single cover outhere, from 10,000 maniacs and the others do NOT capture the magic of this song. but this version is ok i guess.
WTFO??? 10,000 Maniacs did this and, at least, tried to stay loyal to Roxy Music's original? Has the music industry truly run out of original ideas? Guys....try to be creative; I hear it's very liberating
I've been a fan of Roxy Music since Virginia Plain, so I could reasonably be expected to hate this. Except I don't. I think it's a fab cover. The 10,000 Maniacs version is nice but by staying loyal to the original it's ended up as being essentially karaoke. If you're going to cover a classic then at least do your own thing with it. That's what Madison Park have done and, in my opinion, it works. Nothing will ever beat the original though.
I could feel at the time There was no way of knowing Fallen leaves in the night Who can say where they´re blowing As free as the wind And hopefully learning Why the sea on the tide Has no way of turning More than this - there is nothing More than this - tell me one thing More than this - there is nothing
It was fun for a while There was no way of knowing Like dream in the night Who can say where we´re going No care in the world Maybe i´m learning Why the sea on the tide Has no way of turning More than this - there is nothing More than this - tell me one thing More than this - there is nothing

The original song is great. This version is ok, but I noticed something in the video. DeAnna has been told that she is pretty so many times, it has gone to her head. Watch the video and notice the smartty pants attitude she displays. Man, I hate it when a girl does that! I
Its an interesting tempo and re-interpretation of the Roxy Music original, but the computer manipulation that adds that "warble" throws the song for me, and makes the sound rather juvenile and poppy for me.
Might inspire young people to re-discover the original, and appreciate the art in that one.
I wonder if anyone will attempt a re-make of Avalon. Doubt anyone has the personal style to properly do Avalon justice. Bryan Ferry was gifted and embodied class like practically no one else.
some people are getting bent out of shape over this remake! Folks, Roxy's STILL the best, there will never be a version as awesome as the original. anytime a remake is done, it is usually a compliment or a homage to the artist/group/song. if u don't like it, don't listen to it. peace...
the more i listen to this version, the MORE i like it!! IMHO,i would have to rank this version right behind the ALL-TIME Roxy classic. the producing and the music is superb. her voice is just right w/o being overwhelming. mixing was done nicely to keep the original sound intact.
the lyrics to this timeless song are profound and meaningful. anybody with style and substance can never mess this song up. 10,000 maniacs' version is nice and safe. Norah Jones' version was boring.Madison Park put a dance spin to it and it WORKS!! i like it. Roxy's still the best!
