You know if the Army didn't work the first time a Giant Monster rampaged through a major city what makes anyone think it'll work the next 10,000 times
You also develop genuine sympathy for the Creature, misunderstood and horny and hunted though he is, and may even cheer him on as he turns on the callow science types and picks them off one by one.
The Creature from the BL isn't "B", it's excellent and works on several levels -- there's a man-man story (love triangle with the lead actress), man-nature story (vs. the Creature), and a man-against-himself angle too, as the male lead (John Agar?) tries to decide whether to fight or flee once things go to hell. It's a "small" drama that takes place on one stranded little boat and within about 500 yards of it -- kinda like how The Thing is set -- and that claustrophobic sense eats at you.
growing up in the 50's I watched a lot of this stuff on an old black & white tv. I remember the blob, Godzilla, it terror from beyond space and many others.
In los angeles we had stations like ch9, ch11 that showed re-runs of old shows and of course these monster movies.
I've seen them all. I just cannot find the one with creatures that look like brains with tails, they fly on people and strangle or eat them. Does anyone know this movie from the 50's or early 60's. Oh yeah...they seem to melt when shot and killed.
