  • 1 person didn't land on a rubber tree.

  • what version of monkey?

  • well... I think the main reason why people act like you destroyed the ship in this game is because that is actually the real ending...

  • amm, you actually CAN die. In secret of monkey island, when you stay underwater. If you stay there for ten minutes, you drown.

  • @axinkiewicz True

  • @axinkiewicz And that really nullifies the joke there which is aimed at Sierra and their adventure games. The creators of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion and the other old school lucasarts titles thought that the dying in the sierra games was such an annoying feature, but actually a lot of the sierra adventure game fans consider the various ways of dying to be a part of the gameplay and even a comic relief. There are even tribute videos here on youtube calles way of dying in xxxx quest.

  • Errm... is it just me, or do the "turn on/turn off" commands do anything in the game?

  • @UltraSonicTH I think I have used it a few times, but they can be substituted by the "use, push, or pull" commands

  • this one gave me a good laugh.

    Ty uploader

  • I did this today in the ipod touch version of the game, I wasn't expecting this... in the momment I was: WTF!!! What did I do?!?! ehehehehe

  • Hahah! Thanks for this. I love these games so much. I'm playing them all over again because of the new ones being released.

  • Rubber tree

  • "Whoooops!"

  • Those sneaky designers. I always thought that Lucas Arts was WAY better than Sierra.

  • @grim107 is sierra still doing any point-and-clicks?

  • @GaolisVideoLog I believe they stopped doing point and clicks years ago. They may still be making games like Leisure Suit Larry, but they are no longer point and click and from what I understand, they're not very puzzle oriented.

  • @grim107 Yeah, I saw a let's play from the latest release of the Lesiure Suit Larry series. It's more of a lame jump'n'run.

  • @GaolisVideoLog Sierra doesn't exist anymore.

  • @mocthezuma Oh, I didn't know that. Too bad. They had a few really good games.

  • @grim107 I have a friend that had the exact same attitude when we were younger and played these. I loved the games from both companies, but Sierra produced far more games so I played a lot more Sierra games or at least spent a lot more time playing Sierra games, which really used to annoy my friend.

Of course, it turned out he was dyslectic... So before the Sierra adventures became point and click, he had already developed a biased opinion about the games because of his handicap.

  • is the business card in the sega cd version?or did lucasarts remove it?i don't remember if the sega cd version had it or not.

  • Im not sure if it did or not, i only played the DOS version.

Its a useless item anyways. You get it when you first talk to stan. I screwed up and ended up getting about 6 cards from him.

  • @runie360

I think you can throw the businesscards in the stew on the way to Monkey Island, not sure if it was a vital ingredient. And maybe use them as a way to get fire when making the stew. Don't remember.

  • @Svankmajer can be used in the "flaming mass" you make.

  • @runie360 i got 10 just so I could throw them all into the fire!

  • hahahaha

  • lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now in HD!

  • yeaaa
