The Death Star playset...the best toy I got,Christmas '78.
{YES,I know the movie came out in '77.But Christmas of that year,there were no action figures...unless your parents got you an "Early Bird Gift Certificate"!}
this takes me back...personally i think i used to more excited just seeing the quick clips from the movie.....strange though that i never had alot the Kenner SW stuff...had the landspeeder, the board game, the 12 inch Darth Vader and the Han Solo blaster..plus a handful of figures over the yrs.
imagine, my mom bought my first figure in 1988. it was a luke sky walker for about a dollar fifty and now most of the original figures are worth like a bunch of money. i have a fortune in my pocket. hahahaha, im keeping that on there. i didnt mean for it to come out that way.
It's the prequel to Planet of the Apes made a long time ago... You shouldn't watch it. There are too many references to Vietnam. At the turn of the century, the original director made three new prequels--I know confusing eh?--all focused on The War of the Roses. I think Chuck Norris played the evil "warmonger" Boba-Maul-Vader-Texas-Ranger. All six movies take place in feudal Japan. Far far too depressing
one of the greatest days in my life was sometime back in the early 80s me and my friend would go dumpster diving at the goodwill and one day in the drop box we found damn near every starwars collectable that someone through out still in its package there IS A GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sure. I just meant in terms of innovation. When they introduced those Star Wars toys, it changed the business. Then many years later, they gave us the Super Powers line.
yeah it started a new star wars craze you know, and thats what the new ones like attack of the clones did, now the mr.potato head darth vaders, and now the 2008 clone wars animated style figures. the fans get younger and younger dont they.
hellz yeah, even the clone wars ones are better, on fact they kick ass, I love the clones. The ones back then were good, but not up to snuff with today
My thoughts exactly! My radio controlled R2D2 had a defect--it only ran backwards! I loved the Jawa Sandcrawler, Millennium Falcon, Cantina playset and Death Star playset. I had every action figure from A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. WHY OH WHY did I give them away?!?!?!?!?
NO! "my associate and me" is correct, because "me" is an object of the verb "ask." "My associate and I" would be correct only if it were the subject of the sentence.
The Palitoy Death Star definately has a better shape to it. But the kenner version had all of the extras. Shame there was´nt a hybrid made - Palitoy shape with kenner´s trash compactor etc
I have it - still in the vintage box - along with my Falcon, Land of the JAwas and original Remoter control R2 - I will never part with them - all a very big part of my childhood!

What's Star Wars?
Is it a comic book or some wierd science fiction film like Planet Of The Apes?
I never see films with the word War in the title, it's so depressing after Vietnam.

Trust me, watch the film and you'll never think of war the same way agian. Lol.

What's funny is it's a direct appeal to parents. "Star Wars; You and your children loved it"... "Now your children can re-live...".

you have to admit though, the new flexible, more realistic ones are a little better.

This just reminds me of my parents never being able to buy me what I wanted. Now that I'm the dad, I can't afford it either.
