I like Taylor Swift, many of her songs are irritating but there are a few I find quite enjoyable. She also seems like a very sweet, fun person, which makes me want to see her succeed (which also comes down to the marketability) .

I think Taylor is better than her fan base and that is what brings her down she gives the impression of being a good girl and so girls follow her, so she sings a lot about love that is one the most important things in your life. My favorite song she done is tied together with a smile and that saved my life it made me think that i should be happy the way i am, and thats about a broken girl no love.

I'm a fan of Taylor's, but to some degree, I see where you're coming from. You do make valid points. I also agree that there are many artists on YouTube waiting to be discovered. Unfortunately, some artists HAVE been discovered on YouTube: Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black, for example. You can take a mainstream singer and a non-discovered YouTube singer and they might both suck. I'm not bashing you, man, I actually respect you, as much as I'm a fan of Taylor's.

I don't mind Taylor Swift as much as other so-called "musicians" nowadays, when she first came around, she wasn't that bad. Now that she's an overrated pop star you hear on almost every radio station, I'm like "OKAY, ENOUGH ALREADY!" She considers her music country, when it's not. I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here.
I like Taylor Swift, many of her songs are irritating but there are a few I find quite enjoyable. She also seems like a very sweet, fun person, which makes me want to see her succeed (which also comes down to the marketability) .
BUT, I agree her voice is nothing special, I often find it quite grating, and a lot of her songs are annoying. In short, while I like Taylor, I agree with a lot of the negative opinions expressed in this vid =o)

Taylor Swift is manufactured; it is something created and AIMED at a target audience; it's SUPPOSED to do well. Claiming that Taylor Swift makes good music based on her popularity is not a cogent argument, when you consider the bigger picture. Artists like Miley Cyrus or Swift or Jonas are all manufactured for a target audience that is not intelligent/old enough to distinguish what it is they are actually listening to. End of Story.

There hasn't been such a talented kid like that since Billie Joe Armstrong. But since he plays rock music, he probably won't become as big as Justin Bieber. However, he won one of those TV talent shows in his home country of Canada, so he has some hope.
