  • Hey what year is that beast

  • both front panels wernt painted at the same time time as the body? phat as tho chiks colour tho

  • @dc2jam Body is a factory colour. Front panels are off a 4wd, and were grey. They just were given a quick flick over from a can. Needless to say the truck will be repainted. It needs other panel work done also.

  • time wasted

  • @oldschoolhunter Two thumbs up for you!

  • can u still fit a cab on if its bagged?

  • @trexeater101 By cab I take it you mean canopy? Yes you can.

  • @trexeater101 hah yea bro thats what i meant and i wana do this with one of the new hilux sr5's but havnt got enough cash atm

  • So jealous, I love that body style

  • nice lux bro

  • @MikeyP131 Thanks man!

  • i been looking 4 a hilux truck in southern california and no luck at all ... the ones i see are custom made into extended cab ... i want a factory made 1 like yours ... where are you .. or what state are you at

  • @fioz951 New Zealand

  • @fioz951 you'll have to import one from outside america, i think even mexico has four door cab trucks though, im working on finding one outside america, its your best bet

  • nice toyota hilux is a 2 L DIESEL

  • @MrLenudo Really? I'd bet the truck on the fact that this is a 2.4 DIESEL.

  • Nice lux.. I wish we had the options you guys did in the USA..

  • @DdgeShelby Cheers. Thanks

  • did u have no pressure or what

  • @bcalibud Um, yes. It's not a hopper.

  • hey mate how much did the hole this cost like to buy the bags the have some1 instal them?

  • That's hard to say, we did this using mates labour... we didn't pay as such,... do you count beer? I have no idea what a pro shop would cost. My guess, lots!

  • haha ok bud i wish i could pay in beer would be alot cheaper hahah thanks anyway mate sick car.

  • Just cheaked your channel, funny shit. The utes my brothers, our mate did the chopping, I did the wireing. Dad sorted the brakes..... We all got pissed!!

  • that is mint, used to hav a double cab 95 dropd on sum rims, now i ve got a bagged xtra cab courier lays frame

  • This will to, just not for cert! It'll lay frame with 20's on the back!! Only has 18's at the moment.

  • I wish we had trucks like that in the US. Hey is that truck a diesel? 5 stars for such a cool and rare truck.

  • yep dirty old diesel!

  • We don't have trucks like this in the US. No 4 doors from the 89-95, we don't have that cool bed either nor do we have diesel Toyotas. You guys have it so good. I would love to import a truck like this to the US.

  • You wouldn't want a diesel anyway, this motor will be replaced at some stage as it's a guttless wonder!

  • Oh alright. I just like the idea of a diesel since they don't have them here. So what motor is going in it?

  • 1j or the 2 litre 4 cylinder beams engine. Not sure at the moment.

  • oh wata feeling toyota

  • is it me or does that look like a cheve colorado with a toy front & and bed????

  • Must be just you! It's all Toyota!

  • really i've never seen no toy cab like that, the beds from and early 80 if not late 70 toy, with a high lux front end with maybe of 4x4 front frnders, that cab is something else though

  • Bed and cab are from 92 Hilux. (factory) SR5 model. Front fenders are 4x4 of same year. Bumper is from a Toyota Surf, also early 90's. But its all Toyota for sure.

  • nice dude nice, but fuck where's the cab part from hahahah

  • shit you just said 92 hilux, shit i didnt know that the 92 came with a 4door hahah

nice shit man can you put up a vid of what the c-frame looks like please

i'd like to see what you did with it, front end too, i want to do a single cab either hilux or 81 lay'n frame hahah

  • Is that a diesel bro? thought i could hear that good old diesel knock.

And 25-30 K, what been smokin?... over in here in aus they go for about 5 K, youll pay 10 K+ for 1 with fuck all K's and in immaculate condition though lol.

Still real nice man, just a bigger air tank or a quicker and quieter compressor... maybe a lexus v8 or an LS1 :P

  • Before any mods were done it was insured for $14k . (stock standard) After spending a whole heap of coin, thats just what we reckon. So to find one for $5k all done, ready to drive..... You just wouldn't find one that cheap. Not where I come from. And a nice 1J or 2J would be the way to go. "BURN ALL V8'S" I say!

  • lol sorry man i was talkin bout a stock standard yota hi lux of around the same yeah model.

That last little comment there i find kinda disturbing lol... why burn all V8's?

Just like rotors, diesels, 4 cylinders and 6's they have their place here, usualy as big, fuel burning, power making machines. For ecomony ya cant beat a diesel or a 4 cylinder... but if ya want a bit more 'GO' it has to be eitther a V6 or a V8 :P V6 bare minimum :D

  • Nope, V8's suck. A factory Ford 5 litre battles to make 230hp on our dyno, I'm talking a 3 year old car that cost $35k. Yet a $5k skyline/silvia/gsr (roughy) with $1.5k spent on it can easy push 300hp at the wheels. Power to weight... 4's & 6's are the way to go. Unless you tow a caravan...... which I don't!! Look at the Ford 6 turbo, it'll piss all over a Ford V8!

BTW, I drive a honda turbo, so I'm one eyed anyhow! :)

  • You make some good points lol, but for tyre frying goodness you cant beat a tough v8. They also sound better and in my opinion there is nothin better the look of a nice shiny blower hangin out the top of the bonnet. theyre also 'old school' ie. easy to work and require (generaly) no fancy equipment for the home mechanic to do most mods themselves. So the simplicity is a realy good thing. sure you can make them complicated but why? lol.

And whats with the ford thing? they suck lol.

  • You too make some good points. I speak of the Fords as they're the ones I know I can talk about. I've seen the results of what they will do. I've owned a '76 HQ 253 V8 prem, I didn't love it. Big heavy tub it was, although it could chuck a nice "O"! In saying that so could my old KP60 starlet and KE30 corolla.

  • I guess I see V8's as crusiers, not performance cars. Theres plenty of cool old school 8's that I do like, but it's not the power plants that get me going. More the look of the whole car. Holden should have stuck with the RB's that they used to stick in the Commadores! All engines are simple to work on, you just gotta follow the rules. OK, tuning can be tricky with ECU's but gettin a carb set just right can be a nightmare as well!

  • Yeah ya right lol they shoulda stuck with the RB's they where a sweet little engine capable of some big power with the right turbo and intercooler combo. my eco/alloytec when i get my vs/vr ute, ill be supercharging the v6... just need to find a way to hide it all so at first glance the coppers dont notice. New licencing laws suck ass, i cant do anything that involves forced induction and im not even meant to upgrade the exhaust. :(

  • Notw that just bites, stinks law making do gooders... That'll be the death of engine development! Cops here aren't that smart. We got rolled in my honda in Chch on night, Cop cheaked the REAR tyres to make sure we hadn't been doing skids!! What a muppet, Missed the intercooler hanging in the front too. What shitted me was here he was 30min later throwing the book at someone else. He had no idea what he was on about, and too arrogant to listen to reason. And they wonder where the respect has gon

  • yeah i know aye, stupid fuckin pigs. Maybe he was expectin handbrakies or somethin hahaha. we got pulled over in my mates gimini, copper looked under the bonnet for about 10 sec and said yeah your good to go. cars registered with stock engine and its runnin a twin turboed supra engine in its place (dont ask how it got in there lol), the copper had no fuckin idea. ive been pulled over driven a v8 VL and im not meant to, its reg. as a 6 after lookin under the bonnet he still couldnt tell the diff.

  • haha it got pink stickered!

  • Yes it did, before we got it to cert.... Still at the cert shop at the mo. Shit happens.

  • how much does a 87 hilux double cab like this one go for there??? I maybe thinking of buying one an shipping here to the U.S. Got a bagged 96 s10 extended cab

  • Hard to say. Maybe $25-30k? You don't see too many for sale. That and they arn't all that cheap to build and the cert standand is quite high to get it all legal.

  • WOW, thats insane! an 80' yota here in A+ shape would go for tops of 3-5 grand

  • dude thats wierd but nice!!

  • That it is! Cheers

  • Aint that the truth haha

  • Yeah that could become an issue. Get the Towley Wagon out and 2 mcdonalds trays

  • You can take the boy out of Timaru, can't get the Timaru out of the boy tho.......

  • TowleyNZ videos represent haha Another good 1 man

  • Cheers, I'm running out of cars to film!
