great racing. looked like fun. btw stop trying to look at the other guys. just focus on where you want to go, watch the corner. a few times you were in perfect overtaking position but then just ran wide because you missed you're braking point. focus on the corner, let them worry about avoiding you, once you're halfway past his kart, he should let you through, they won't risk defending any further. also your defending was a bit dodgy (no offense in all this btw :P) just move you're racing line a

I like the video but your driving SUCKS!!! If I was those other drivers I would have a little talk with you in the parking lot. ?Bumping and push is only ok in nascar not open wheel. Keep that up and it's only a matter of time before you end up in the hospital or worse. A truely good driver would not have to cheat to get ahead look for the opening and take it the right way the drivers will show you more respect and allow you to pass. As you can see the driver in white thinks your stupid.

As for allowing you to pass because of respect, well, that only works in your country, try going to Europe or Brazil and see if your strategy works... i doubt it. at least you liked the vid :)

@spiderspeed Actually as someone who's raced Karts in international races, I'd like to point out I've seen far worse in FIA sanctioned kart races. Pushing and bumping is the norm, as much as I prefer clean racing.

I drove a 2 stroke 22hp kart last summer...man the difference with those standard 4 stroke is just amazing. In low rev's there's not a real difference, but once those things get going...jeez!Love karting but I still feel that the brake balance on those things is just shite. Coming down from 110kph to like 30 is hard work with those things. Great fun though! This seems like an awesome trake btw, those fast corners with left-right transitions are mighty fine!Good racing!

4strokes have torque, 2 strokes ahve rev's, the exspantion chambver act's like a supercharger giving the bike power band

A 4 stroke engine completes its cycle in 4 strokes. A 2 stroke engine does the same in 2 strokes - so it is ultimately faster. 2 strokes are also lighter and have better acceleration out of the corners.

look far enough down track to set up a pass and never look around for them. When their front tire appears in your face shield then it's time to give them room. Freight trains are neat with a 2 stroke. Lean out carb a bit to pass but those days are gone. Today's frames are way too stiff and laid back for me. You can't lift inside rear wheel with your body to get rid of scuffing in turns on 1/4 mile tracks. Back then you had 2.5 miles to get to 1st place. Time marches on.

@shawnse29 Bug sprinter I ran had 4130 moly frame and straight front axle. Put kart on 4 bathroom scales for weights on wheels then propped a block under end you wanted to adjust and jumped on it until you got your weight setting on that wheel. Each track had settings for number of lefts and rights and whether flat or banked. Got old figuring all that stuff out for a trophy, but I still had fun. Ran 100cc McCullough in reed heavy.

i would say bandaroos (don't hold me to the spelling either) but that would be a little tough for you to make it soo if you really wanna get in at like age 18-24 i would say late models(very very very very very expensive) or legends(also really expensive) and look for a local track near you to see if they run it. If you live close to a track the better it is because it would be cheaper for transportation

When I race my kart I NEVER once look behind me like that driver in the white helmet kept doing. Keep your eyes on the track and on your line. Only glance to the side if you notice a kart coming up on your quarter or door to make a pass.

although you're not allowed to "ram" or touch people, its generally only frowned upon if its braking for or during a corner. Down the straight all your doing is giving your extra energy to him so he goes faster and you go slower. Basically you're worse off as you could have used the energy to overtake (if possible), unless we start talking about 'bump drafting', but thats a discussion for another time.

In four stroke karting in Ontario, Canada, ramming is part of the racing. Especially if you go to big events. It's just something you expect. I went to a Brian Stewart race (biggest series in our province) and I was getting shoved around in the corners in Practice. It's something you get used to.

hi dj im 14 and i have been racing for a while now. it is better for your son to start in the yamaha jr. can karts. this is an excellent step into karting and i recommend trying an "arrive and drive" race first so you know that your son likes it. i don't know where you live but if your in the illinois michigan indiana place i recommend Michiana Raceway Park, it is in crown point just off the tip of south bend

Hopefully, my battered left ribs & back are my only injuries. The spleen is right under the left ribcage, & very prone to injury. That can be life-threatening.

This video is from Brazil... Those karts are quick because in Brazil we have a special cetegorie that uses 4 stroke tuned engines... those engines can reach up to 100km or 63miles..
